I first tried my normal 7.5 and felt that the boot was too narrow in the toe. Returned for an 8 and it was so comfortable right out of the box that wore them too much the first day and gave myself blisters. Now I'm wearing them with wool footies. They are very comfortable, but being exquisitely hand crafted out of quality leather, they still need to be broken in. They smell like heaven and I'm already getting compliments. If you can find the right fit for your foot, the quality of these boots will make them fast favorites.

These have an irresistible menswear-chic look about them, I love it! I wear them with skinny jeans like an oxford-type shoe and they are perfect. They don't make your feet look excessively long, despite the pointy shape, and the heel is a very comfortable height even for me (I'm someone who runs around in sneakers most days). I had no toe box issues with this one, but then I've got narrow feet so I suppose it isn't a surprise. I did have to size down a half size, so just be aware.

Beautiful shoe!!! Color, fit, leather, heel height...it’s all amazing and holds up to Frye standards of perfection. I usually wear 8 in heels, 9 in boots, 8.5 in everything else but an 8.5 fit me perfectly! They’re tight enough to not let your heel slip out but not too tight that they’re uncomfortable! The smell of the leather is incredible too - I can smell them even from under my desk :) Love love love these shoes - totally worth it

I loved this so much that I had to get me a second pair. Once you break them in (like any real leather shoe) they are soooo comfortable! Wear them all day long!!!!!

I am seriously obsessed with these shoes. Ever since I got them I have been wearing them day in and day out. They are so beautiful and comfortable, and they go with any outfit. I love to do a cuffed pant so that the shoe gets the attention it deserves. If you are thinking of buying these, do it! You will not regret it. If you have wider feet, I would do half a size up.

Excellent everyday shoe boot. I have the light tan and the charcoal colors (waiting for my size to restock in black soon [hope hope]). They go perfectly with my boot cut jeans, adding just enough style to my business casual wardrobe. The heel is solid and sturdy (not hollow sounding when you walk) and adds a perfect 2" of height. There's a great heavy-duty piece of thick rubber to absorb shock and muffle any walking noise. No break in period needed with either color. Slipped 'em on and there was no rubbing at all. Really comfortable out of the box. Real leather, wears well and doesn't get stinky. I'm able to put my special graphite orthotic and a thin cotton sock in the shoe makes for all day comfort. Highly recommended shoe-bootie!

I am disappointed in these shoes. I love the style, but they are just too narrow. I don’t have a wide foot , but still too narrow.

I recently bought these (in my customary size 6, Smoke color) and the Billy Shorts (Blackberry) at the same time. These shoes are quite elegant, dressy enough for most of my needs, the heel height is perfect for me, and the color is gorgeous and versatile. However, the Shorts were way more pliable and comfortable straight out of the box than the Shooties, possibly due to the type of leather and maybe even the effects of the dye color. The leather of these Shooties is quite stiff, though I did eventually decide to keep them and have been working them with Danner Boot Dressing and daily indoor wear, with slow but noticeable and encouraging results. I should mention that the right shoe is close to perfect already (still a bit stiff in the heel, but comfortable), but my problematic left foot, which is both wider and thicker than the right foot due to multiple surgeries, needs a bit more accommodation. I'm confident they are going to relax to perfection eventually, but I'm not yet ready to wear them out and about all day.

Frye never disappoints! You do need to wear them several times to let the leather soften, but it's well worth it. I have no doubt I will enjoy these for years to come. The style and quality is something I really appreciate. The smoke color is perfection and goes with just about everything. I prefer the shootie over the bootie because I feel like it's more versatile....you can still wear with a skirt, any style of jean, even dress slacks. LOVE them (this is my second pair;).

Frye is fantastic as always. I already have the Shootie in Black and Maroon. The leather inside and out, the sole and heel is superior. The boot fits my foot like a glove. No pinching of my toes or heel. I am comfortable all day wearing. So glad I found this boot !!!

These shooties are beautiful! Fit to a T and look gorgeous on. All-day comfortable too. I bought the red and the color is rich and unique. Quite sophisticated.

The Frye Billy Shootie is such a great bootie for everyday. High quality and comfortable, they look great with a pair of jeans and button up shirt. I absolutely love them!

These shoes are beautiful. It breaks my heart to send them back. They look great. They fit great, but they slip on my heel. I'm concerned the slipping will get worse as the leather stretches. I considered thick socks, but I think it's not meant to be. Elegant shoes don't look right with super thick socks.

Love these! Beautiful quality and craftsmanship, as expected from Frye. They are adorably versatile, as they can be worn with bootcut jeans, or as an oxford-style shoe with skinny jeans. Size: After a lot of deliberation, and reading reviews here, and on various other sites, I went with a 7.5. I am a straight-up size 8, but with Frye, I wear a 7.5 in their shoes (Dylan slip-ons), but I'm an 8 in their boots (Carson and Veronica). If these were boots worn with a thick sock, I'd probably go with an 8. But since they're more "shoe" than "boot", I took a chance and went with the 7.5. They're a wee bit tight in the toe, but I can still wiggle my toes, and my heel slips as it should. Once they stretch (which they are already doing quite nicely), they'll be perfect, and they're not so tight that I've had any discomfort wearing them. If I had gone with an 8, I'd probably have exchanged them for the 7.5.

These are my favorite shoes. They were absolutely comfortable the moment I put them on. I am usually a 6.5 and these have a little room but with a light pair of socks they were perfect. I get compliments wherever I go. They look amazing with jeans. Not all Fryes are perfect but these are fabulous.

I have other Billye styles so I knew these would be comfy. Love the smoke color. It is very neutral. These were my birthday present from my husband. I plan to wear them as summer transitions to fall and beyond. You get what you pay for. I own 8 pairs of Frye boots, ranging over all styles and heights. Love them all. These seem slender, narrow but my feet are long and skinny so they work for me. Not sure about these for wider feet.

I wasn't sure I would like the pointed toe, but these are really cute with jeans (they look like boots but are much easier to slip on). I usually wear a 7.5M, and the 7.5M was perfect for me--plenty of room in the toe area. I was also pleased with the rust color. I've become a fan of Frye products during the last couple of years, and so far I have been able to depend on Frye for quality and comfort.

Love these shoes! Well made, good fit. I usually wear a 7 or 7 1/2. I got the 7 1/2 but had to return them for the 7's.

Love these shooties. True to size and comfortable. Are a little heavier weight and truly more of a boot type shoe.

I bought these for my mom for Christmas she absolutely loves them! She is normally a size 8 and these fit her perfectly.

The Billy Shootie is great! I have never owned such a pointy toed western style shoe before, but this one just seemed to be calling me. It is a great style that goes well with boot cut jeans. And it's a style that can be worn year round. Usually with Frye I have to order a 1/2 size smaller (this was my experience with the Carson Shortie), but not with the Billy Shootie. It fits true to size. I've known about Frye for a long time, but never owned a pair until last year. And now I own 3 pairs of Frye boots/shoes, and I am certain I will be purchasing more. They are very comfortable and well made. I know that Frye can be expensive, but the quality and durability justifies the price.

Well priced for leather soled shoes. I wear these shoes every day. The pointed toe is still lady-like but rugged at the same time. The added plus is that they are warm too.

Awesome shoe and super comfortable! I actually purchased two pairs, first tan, and then charcoal. Frye boots and shoes tend to be a bit generous in size and I knew this before ordering. Typically I wear a size 8, but ordered a size 7.5 and they fit perfectly! Zappos overnight delivery is absolutely amazing and I can always count on it!

I recently purchased these in Smoke. They are very elegant, but quite stiff. Due to multiple surgeries my left foot is both wider and thicker than my right, which means nearly every shoe/boot I buy is tight on my left foot unless/until the leather relaxes and stretches. The jury is still out on these, although I think they may be fine after some cautious breaking in. I also have the Billy Short and those felt just fine after about an hour, so I'm hopeful that if I continue wearing these around the house for a few hours each day, the left shoe will feel perceptibly better. If so, I will take the plunge and apply leather conditioner to further soften them up. Fingers crossed - they really are splendid and if I can keep them this lovely smoke color will be super-versatile.
