super cute. hit me in middle of ankle. not comfortable for me.

Since this shootie had a pointed toe, I ordered a half size larger hoping that I could get an orthotic into it. Unfortunately, no. I had to send them back. No wide width available and if I ordered them any larger they would look like skis. Nice looking shoe, though.

These felt a bit narrow when I first put them on; however, they loosened up after wearing them for awhile. I really like the quality of Frye, and they look great with my boot-cut jeans. I wear an 8.5, and that's what I purchased.

In a boot, I can wear anywhere from a 9 1/2 to an 11. I've tried Frye several times, and they just are a half size too short. I need a 10 1/2 which they do not make. I keep trying different styles, but so far nothing has worked. I makes me sad because I LOVE Frye style and quality. I order a 10 and it's too short, and the 11 is just way to big overall. Please Frye, if you read these reviews, consider making your styles in a 10 1/2. What is a girl suppose to do that needs this size? You would never skip all other half sizes! I've tried Frye shoes and it's the same for me - 10 too short and 11 just too big, even wider. Other than size these boots are awesome, and I know they would have been comfy. They even smell good! The leather is top grade.

I've been looking for a pair of black booties to wear with skirts and dresses but unfortunately these were not the ones for me. These boots are of good quality but where the tongue meets the ankle rubbed the wrong way. I also have narrow feet and skinny ankles so these looked a little clunky on me like pilgrim shoes sans buckles. I'm sure these would look cute with pants though.

I was looking for a stylish, comfortable shoe that I could walk to work in. Tall order? No. These fit the bill. They look great with jeans, leggings, and skirts and are comfortable enough for my 40-minute walk to work. My only regret about them is that the tan color comes pre-scuffed; I would have preferred a more classic finish.

Loved the style of the shoes, but they were a half size too large. Thanks to Zappos for making exchanges easy!

Super cute but besides being a bit too tight, they we not comfortable at all.

I have bought Fryes before and have never had them fit so snug and small when ordering my usual size. They would have taken time to break in and not sure it would have done that at all.

The first time I put them on, I could barely get my feet into them. I've been wearing them around the house for about a month and they are finally starting to feel comfortable. They are so beautiful, I didn't want to send them back. Still a little tight around the widest part of my foot.

These were very snug and rubbed on my ankle. Maybe they will break in but not sure if I will return.

I wear 9 B in my other campus boots and another pair of Frye boots. I wear an 8.5 in yet another ankle boot. This pair was way too tight . I ended up giving them to my sister who wears an 8 usually and they fit great on her. I’m a bit sad, but they look awesome on her !

I wear a size 6 with a high arch and they were so stiff I couldn't even get them on. They are very cute, and I liked the vintage oil color but had to return them.

I like the look of the shoe but really difficult to get on if you have a high arch.

Shoot! Was excited to get the Billy Shootie, boots but after wearing them, there is a major flaw. The shoe/boot is cute, but there is a major annoyance with the pull tab on the back. If you don't mind perpetually ensuring your pant leg isn't riding up because of the pull tab on the back of the shoe, then the shoe is great! But after an afternoon of continually adjusting my pant legs, ugh! Word to the wise, if you like this boot either go for the Billy Short not the Shortie, or try the Bjorn Kinney. Too bad they did not have my size in the Bjorn and hindsight is always 20/20.

Wow, when did Zap's get so awful about returns - a month or more to process a return?! Nope; the return process was an unnecessary pain and waiting what sounds like 40 days or more for refund is just ridiculous.

I loved the style. I have some Carson lace-ups that are comfortable and easy to wear and I love that the toe goes up like a cowboy boot. I wanted these shoes to fit. I put them on and there was no way I could wear these because the bottoms of my feet protested immediately. totally flat no cushioning, ouch, ouch. I returned.

Ankle cutter - if I wanted to remove my ankle bones these shoes would probably fit. The exterior leather lands exactly under my ankle bone and slices it with each movement. Too bad! Fabulous color, look, heel, construction over-all not withstanding major ankle area flaw. Returning :{

These are stunning Frye boots. I have owned three pairs of Fryes for more than a decade, all comfortable right out of the box. So, I was so disappointed that these were terribly uncomfortable - the toe box is extremely narrow and hurts immediately once on, and the point where the leather hits my ankle rubs with every step. There is no way I could keep them despite my love affair with the photo! So, return them I did.

Way to small couldn’t even get my foot in them ! I don’t have any issues and I don’t have a wide foot and I have never had any problems and I couldn’t even get my foot in half way! I don’t even know if I should go up a whole size because that doesn’t even seem like it would work! They were cute though!

Vile! A classic Frye style, but so cheaply made of poor quality leather that it is like a caricature of the original

I normally wear a size 8, but the size 8 in this shoe was WAY too small and narrow. I'm guessing I would need to go up to a size 9, nut I'm not even going to try because the quality was poor. Frye is definitely not what they used to be. Part of the leather around the top of the shoe was either not sewn properly or it should have been trimmed off. No excuse for that!

When I opened the box on this shoe, my first thought was that it was too small. I'm a solid 7.5 with a wide forefoot, narrow heel. I thought, that shoe is never going on my foot. I tried to slip it on but to no avail. I might have considered it if I could have got it on my foot. I would have had to size up a full size but that shoe was a definite no.

Fit and size are great. Design is so cool. Feel great wearing them.

I bought two pairs of Frye Billy Shootie over ten years ago (a gray color and the oxford color). They still look fabulous. I get tons of compliments on them. I wore one of my older pairs on a vacation to Europe, wore them all day long walking and never had any issues. My new black ones fit perfectly right out of the box.
