Like most people here, I was very excited about these boots when I got them. First knee-high boots that worked well for my muscular calves. Now it's been a year since I bought them. The side covering of the heels is scratched and torn! White plastic inside of the heel is showing through a big hole in heel cover! Cobbler cannot do anything. They look terrible. Wore them less than 10 (!) times. Only used them to walk from parking lot to building, in dry weather, on paved surface. All my shoes and boots are much cheaper and look much better! I know it's not a fair comparison, but just to give you an idea, Uggs look like new after year of daily wear in similar conditions (dry pavement, car-to-home). These may have been great boots in the past, but the quality seems to have gone down a lot. This price for white plastic heel with superthin cover?

Uhm...how did I ever miss these?! I saw a few women wearing these this winter and had to investigate. My size (11) was sold out in NY Stuart Weitzman stores so they told me I'd have to wait 5-7 biz days...enter my boo Zappos. So I just got them and they are so very beautiful! Quality craftsmanship! I'm 6'0 tall...2/3 leg...and these still come over my knee. The leather is so supple. These boots are well worth the money and I can't wait to debut them. They're timeless. Thanks Zappos!

I bought 4 pairs of SW 5050,the ones I love most are the black nappa and crocembeded leather ones. Because the suede ones don't look as shining as the leather ones. Still, they worth the money because I do feel that when I am standing beside other women, their boots don't look as good as mine from the stand point of quality and style.

Wish these boots were knee high. Loved everything about them except the height of the shaft. I'm 5'3" and it was just too long for my calf. Hope next season, Stuart Weitzman makes them in the lower shaft length.

I had some sizing issues with these. I had the black nappa leather ones and decided to get the suede. I'm usually an 8 (or 8.5) but I fit the 7.5 in the black nappa so I got the same size for the suede ones but they were a lot tighter and seemed a tad shorter in the foot. I don't know if they just weren't stretched out yet (black nappa ones I got from a department store so may have been tried on several times and stretched over time)...but I had to return the suede ones because they just felt too snug going 1/2 size down. Going to try my usual size 8 and see if those work better.

These are gorgeous boots. They are made for women with thin legs, which I have, and when worn with a pair of leggings, they make you look like you have legs up to your head. Stunning. Comfortable. Although they have rubber soles, they are not for trekking around in the snow. I am in Aspen right now and I have to wear sturdier boots for walking around through the snowy icy streets. I save these for going out at nighttime. I want to give Zappos a plug. I ordered these in an 8 1/2 from Stuart Weizmann and paid extra to get them in 3 days. They run long so I returned them and ordered an 8 from Zappos VIP which took less than 24 hours to come for free. Then I returned a different pair to Zappos and got credit in 3 days. I returned the size 8 1/2 to Stewart Weitzman and it took 3 weeks to get credit. Zappos rocks.

I have these boots in both leather & suede and just a heads up, the leather is much tighter than the suede...so if you have narrow calves, you might be able to get away with ordering the M.

This boot is simply stunning. but very difficult to get on. After sweating and missing 2 buses, I finally got it on. the footbed felt wonderful, but for the cost it's way too much work to get them on.

These are really lightweight...so much so that I wondered if they were worth the cost as they didn't feel very substantial. However they are really comfy and the leather is really soft. I haven't worn them out yet so can't comment on the durability. They definitely run big. I am usually a size 8 (and occasionally 8.5 if the shoe runs small) but the 7.5 fit me perfectly and there is room for a thin sock as well. Getting them on and off required a little effort but wasn't a real problem (I am 5'6" with 13.75 inch calf width). I would definitely recommend getting a 1/2 size down.

Since these boots are so expensive, I thought long and hard about purchasing them. I did a lot of research and read many reviews. Now that I have them, I am SO HAPPY I bought them. They were a splurge, but I consider them a gift to myself. I love wearing them. The leather is top quality and they look and feel great on. They go with pants or skirts. No regrets! I hope I have them for a long, long time.

Excellent support - so no more foot pain for me. Exquisite design - draws loads of attention and finally this is a pair of boots SW has been selling for years and so it will never go out of style. If I could sleep with these babies, I would. The same goes for all SW shoes and boots. Well done Stuart. That explains why I only buy SW now.

I love these boots. I have very thin legs and they fit great. I never would have order because of the cost but after reading the review I had to order and glad I did.

Love these shoes. Comfortable, stylish, and versatile. Can easily dress up or dress down an outfit. This is the new "it" color for Fall and it is absolutely gorgeous. Looks great with jeans, leggings, or a dress.

These boots get such rave reviews, I broke down and purchased, but I am almost certainly returning these. They look kind of cool from the front, but the big elastic stretch in the back simply looks like a goofy knee high stocking!? It looks really dumb with skirts but even more so pulling the stupid elastic up over jeans. I saw a short girl wearing these and her legs looked like Popeye's, and not in a good way. Sure the elastic can fit over your um "athletic" (read: big/fat/huge) calves. But the elastic is also very unforgiving, kind of like spandex, do you really want the whole world to see just how "athletic" your calves are? Another thing to consider with these boots is how ubiquitous they are now. I walked into the Stuart Weitzman store to try these on prior to purchasing them online. The sales person was really helpful and friendly but probably inadvertently talked me out of these boots by describing all the people she knew who had them and just "love, love, loved" them, including herself. Personally, I would prefer not to drop this much on a boot that every chick in town owns, from the saleslady to the mail-lady. I'd rather invest that much in some really hard-to-find boot that no one else is rocking. 50/50 - no, thank you.

These are excellent boots! I am 5'11" with long, thin legs and have struggled trying to find good, basic boots that do not stop at mid calf and did not make my feet look enormous. I am absolutely in love with these boots. I am between a 10 and 10½ and went down to a 9½ in the black nappa, as I do not wear thick socks. So, I would say they run slightly large. These are truly stunning boots. Well made, extremely flattering. They are worth the price.

I own these boots in suede and recently bought the napa leather, too. These boots are gorgeous, eye-catching and comfortable. I wear them with everything from jeans to dresses. Today I am wearing them over tight black knit pants and an oversize cashmere sweater. My only wish is that these boots were a bit narrower across the mid-foot for a more feminine look (the size is fine as-is).

I was hesitant to spend this much but I am so glad that I did! These boots are just as gorgeous and comfortable as everyone has said! I have very thin legs and rarely wear boots because of the huge gap between my calf and boot--these fit great. I thought that they may be difficult to take off but I don't find that at all--even went through airport security without a hassle. The boots are fitted so I think that they work best with skinny jeans, jeggings, or tights. Just got these in black nappa and will be purchasing the brown suede next.

Love these boots! I have an athletic calf (15") and these fit perfectly. A little difficult to put on the first time, but then easy to slip on and off. Like some of the other reviewers, I was also hesitant due to the price, but have no regrets. I will likely get another pair soon!

These boots are beautiful and comfortable. The leather is so soft. I am petite and have less than a 12" calf circumference, and the boots fit my legs beautifully. However, I normally wear a size 5 in boots, but even with thick socks, the size 5 felt way too big and loose on my feet. It also looked like my feet were really long and out of proportion with my body. I think a size 4½ would still be too big, but I imagine a size 4 would be too small. I will have to update my review after I try another size.

These are amazing! I love these boots. I have been eying them all fall and finally caved on my birthday. I sized a 1/2 size down as I found my normal size bunched a bit at the ankle. These are very flattering and will go with many outfits.

I just love these boots.They are so comfortable and yet so fashionable! I actually have 3 pairs of them now and although they are expensive, they are worth every penny because I wear them all the time. A great investment.I recommend them highly.

I bought the leather in my usual size, and it was too big. I exchanged it for half a size smaller and they were perfect. Then I kept reading reviews and could not get the suede out of my mind. I had a dilemma. I ordered the suede (sizing runs same as leather ). On my frame, I liked the suede a little more. Do not get me wrong, they are both gorgeous. The fit is perfect and they are not difficult to get off and on. I am 5'4" and I felt the suede hugged my legs better and just looked more subdued. But you cannot go wrong either way!

I finally splurged after two seasons of belly-aching about whether or not I had to have these boots. I am so glad that I did. They are extremely stylish, flattering, comfortable, and I absolutely love them. I get tons of compliments every time I wear them. My only complaint is that I have thicker calfs (athletic) so wearing them over pants is uncomfortable for me. Just my build - not a flaw with the boots. I usually just wear them with tights. Also, I am 5'4" and they hit me in the crease in the back of my leg so I wear them turned down. I wish that they were a hair shorter. These are great boots, though. I recommend them, for sure. The quality is excellent, as well.

The foot of the boot was fine, but man, the shaft was so narrow that I could not even pull the boots up on my leg. Possibly, this just means that I have fat calves, but I have other "stretch" boots, like a Munro stretch leather boot and a Cole Haan half leather half stretch fabric boot, that I can pull up with no problem. I ordered a narrow because of my narrow feet, but having narrow feet does not necessarily mean skinny calves.

I have long waited and wished for these. They are river but fantastic. Classic yet trendy. They are true to size if not generous and if I were a slimmer, narrower foot shape, I would size down half a size. My feet are wide yet wide in this was far too wide. Medium is still generous. Well worth the wait. I ended up splurging on both black and cola suede. The suede is less contrast with elastic back than leather so I prefer it.
