I can't wear heels much higher than an inch and a half or so but still want a great look. I was excited to find these and snapped them right up. Sometimes I'm a 9, sometimes a 9.5. Chose the 9.5 and found them just right. Comfortable from day one. They look more expensive than they are, too. Would def recommend.

After having ordered two pairs of boots, and buying a third in store, these were the perfect pair. I am 5'2" so it is not easy to find boots that are just the right fit, and height. The color and style of these boots will compliment just about any outfit. A must for your all year round sexy and stylish look. By the way, I usually wear 7½ or 8, ordered the 8 and it is perfect.

Super cute boots! They go well with everything I have, from dresses to jeans. I sprayed them with weather resistance stuff before wearing them for the first time so that I wouldn't be too scared to wear them in the light rain. Highly recommend!

These boots are amazing! So comfortable. I've walked around in them for hours and they feel great on your feet. I'm very particular about shoes and would buy a pair of these very hear.

I got these boots last year and they are my absolute favorite. I have large calves and have a hard time finding cute boots - these fit perfectly and pull on just fine over my jeans. I can walk in them all day and my toes and heels stay comfortable.

I obsessed over these boots and desperately wanted the cognac color. Since many, many other people seemed to want them too, I had to settle for the "tan" color. I wasn't sure how dark they would be, but they are actually a nice light brown and they look great with black, grey, brown, navy, etc. I love these boots. I have looked high and low for a similar style, and there's nothing else like them. They are casual, but still tight enough to the leg to wear with just about anything. I always wear a 7.5 in SM, so that's what I got - they fit great, even with socks. Highly recommend!

I have had the black Candences for over 1½ years! They are the best boots that I have ever purchased. They look high quality. I have fat calves and they fit because they have the slit on top. The toe is a style that will not go out of style any time soon. I live in Upstate New York where we have tons of winter salt and wetness and they look fantastic. I can wear them for over nine hours. Get these today!

I ordered about eight pairs of boots (I love Zappos' return policy and free shipping) and these are the winners. The tan color is beautiful, a little distressed looking and goes with everything. I have weird feet - they are wide but narrow at the heel/ankles and skinny calves. I tried 8½ and 9, and the 8½ felt pretty good and got more comfortable as I wore them. I was able to wear them for several hours right away. The ruching helps the boots not look sloppy or too loose at the ankles and calves. They are stylish to dress up or down. They are soft and thin leather. I will try with my gel/arch supports for added comfort. I am considering getting the black, too!

These are awesome boots! I have very large calves so I usually have a problem fitting into regular boots. When I first put these on I thought it might be the same, but they actually fit great and I think they have actually loosened a bit after wear. They are very comfortable I could probably walk a few miles in them! The color is also really nice, it matches with almost everything. I always wear an 8 and I found they are true to size. I recommend them to anyone!

Probably will be my favorite boot in my closet. So comfortable and I wear them all day,and have a hard time wearing anything all day.

Great boots! They were exactly what I was looking for. As others have said, these boots are definitely lighter in color than they are in the picture. They are more tan than dark brown. Not much arch support, but I have high arches and always have to put inserts in my boots anyway. They seem to be a good quality and have held up great since I got them.

I bought these boots as a bit of an experiment, and I'm so glad I did! I'm short (5'3") and have ridiculously scrawny calves (like, 12" circumference), so finding tall boots is a nightmare for me because they all gape awkwardly at the top. While these are certainly much bigger than my actual calf circumference, the fact that they are scrunchy makes that somehow okay. They look cute over leggings and skinny jeans, and are actually even tolerable with tights and a dress. Unlike other reviewers, I don't find them uncomfortable at all, and for the price, they don't actually look terribly cheap. I'll never be able to wear sleek, fitted knee-high boots (because they don't seem to exist for a person of my stature), but these are definitely the next best thing!

I love these boots. They fit perfectly and are easy to dress up or down with dresses or jeans. I was worried that with the flat heel they would have a "Robin Hood" look, but this was not the case at all, and have worn them to dressier events with no issues at all.

This is my second pair of the same boots from Steve Madden - both ordered from Zappos! My first pair was the cognac leather and they lasted me for basically 3 years! I wore them to concerts, festivals, class, work, etc. and they were great through it all! This time I ordered the tan leather, which is just as it looks in the picture. At first I was worried that the worn-in look would make it look "dirty" but it actually doesn't! I like the small heel. In the end, it was the heel that wore down, and not the rest of the boot, and I think it might have lasted even longer if it weren't for the way that I walk (I tend to lean towards the outer edges of my shoes, so the heel wore down in a diagonal manner. The inner part of my heel is actually still fine!).

I finally found a boot that I really like, is comfortable with on my 'bad foot' but I wish I had ordered in black so I could wear it more - so this boot, although a great boot, is going back for a black one!

I ignored the comments that these run a little small and bought them in my size, a 7. When they came in they fit fairly tight, so I returned them for a half size up. They're perfect as a 7 1/2. I got them in the tan leather and absolutely love them. They don't have a lot of support, but unless you plan on doing a very large amount of standing or walking, I don't really see that being a problem.

These are super cute boots. Bonus - They fit over my 15 inch calves with skinny jeans on. I didn't think that was too big but after trying on countless boots without them fitting I realized how large they are. I am thinking of ordering them in black.

Very fashionable for the woman who can't wear heels. And not expensive for boots. I usually prefer more arch support if I will be walking around in them all day, but I don't intend to go for long hikes in them. I purchased a 1/2 size larger than I usually get and will use a cushioned insert.

Love these boots! Very comfortable and go with every outfit. Be careful not to spill on them, or wear them too much in the rain - they get permanent water marks on them.

These boots are comfortable but still stylish. They have a little bit of arch support. I have narrow heels and muscular calves, and these boots don't slip off my heel and are not too tight in my calves. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone!

I absolutely love this boot! It's very stylish and comfortable. It could use a bit more arch support, but overall, it's a great boot. It even works with my large calves. (I usually have a ton of trouble finding a boot that fits!) Love, love, love it!
