For serious runners! These got rid of a nagging knee problem I used to have. I've run for miles and never developed blisters with these sneakers. Light as a feather, but with all the punch of technology.

Highly recommended for medium distance runners (5-15 mi) with a normal to high arch and mild underpronation. Heel cup is very stiff, as is the impact zone on the inner heel. This combo (for me) gives a very even shock distribution, meaning my knee pain is gone.Toe is roomy and wide. Laces are offset (cool, I guess). The area around the laces is a little tight. Overall size is true to the number. The guidance line on the sole really lets you know when your form isn't right for better or worse. When running on angled sidewalks, this feature gets annoying. It is a nice thing to break you of bad habits. Sole has more gel than most, and the memory foam around the heel cup does have a heavenly softness. The extra cushioning does add some weight and bulk, but it's still lighter than most cross-trainers. Overall, it's a great-looking shoe that fits well and lets me run farther.

Good fit for people with wide ball/narrow heel. Roomy toe box. Good padding under the ball of the foot for people who run on the balls of their feet. I do, and they protect well, but at 200lbs, I only get about 150-200 miles out of them before the compression of the padding under the ball starts to make itself felt in the knees, etc.

These runners came when I expected them and as I expected them. They fit as well as an earlier generation; indeed, a slightly different lacing structure allows a snugger closer to the toes. Had they not worked out, that I could have returned the product without paying shipping costs convinced me that going with Zappos was worthwhile.

The shoe fits well and looks amazing on your feel. It feels very comfortable when running. I do 5+ miles per run, and my feet do not hurt afterwards.

Good cushion. Much narrower than previous model (11's). Only ran in them twice, so not much other data to report. In previous models, the shoes seem to break down after about 3-4 months of 15 mile a week (I'm 245 lbs).

Previously had the Gel-Nimbus 11. These are very similar, with the exception of the new lacing system. I don't really feel any difference with the off-center laces. I recently ran my first marathon in these shoes and had no issues. I had had my 11's for a while and was starting to have knee and hip pain during training, but these shoes alleviated that problem. I would attribute that as much to the older shoes wearing out as anything special about the new shoes. All in all, I like them. I've worn Asics for years.

I'm a non-runner, and I know these are running shoes, but I was desperate for a comfortable, supportive pair of athletic shoes for hospital work requiring hours upon hours on my feet. And my feet hurt! In general I have to give these Asics the thumbs up, but I wouldn't rage on about them like some reviewers have. They're the priciest shoes I've ever bought and in my lower-middle class we think shoes that cost this much ought to feel like the clouds of heaven. These don't. But they are comfortable enough that my foot pain hasn't gotten any worse since I've had them, and I appreciate that. For my purposes (but probably not for running) these got better when I removed the footbed insert they came with and substituted Dr. Scholl's Heel Pain Relief inserts. Only 1 of the three color combos came in Wide width and I didn't care for it but I've gotten compliments on them at work so I must be in the minority on that. But I agree with everyone else that Zappos knows how it's done, and does it that way.

Previous shoes were the Nimbus 11 - These seem to have more cushion (or maybe because the 11s were shot), but the heel strike seems to also be softer and less supportive. I take off from the outside ball of my feet and the is the area between the sole plates to add to flexibility. I think I will run through them quickly. I have low arches and these felt fine.

Bought these a couple weeks ago from Zappos. I'm not overly thrilled with them yet. I loved my Gel Nimbus 11's and I'm not seeing much in the way of 'awe factor' with the 12's. Quite the opposite, actually. Have only run with them 3 or 4 times, so I guess it's still a little early, but I have a feeling that these might be going back. Oh, to be able to find another pair of Gel Nimbus 11's in size 12, 4E.

I would not recommend this product. Although these shoes look great and are very comfortable, the stitching near the toe, where the mesh meets the plastic, began failing no more than a month after regular use. I'm a gym rat and have owned many jogging/cross training shoes that lasted at least a year but I'm buying new sneakers today to replace these after just 5 months because there's a big hole now in the mesh where the stitching came out. I'm buying Puma's this time as I've owned many pairs that took a lot of punishment and lasted until the soles wore out. Never owned Asics before and will not buy Asics again.

I've been running on Asics nearly exclusively for over 12 years. Even though they've never been the best ride going, doctors often recommend them for preventing shoe related running injuries. But, Asics has changed the Nimbus significantly since the Nimbus 11. The Nimbus 12 does not appear to be as orthopedics safe or as long lasting as its predecessors. On mine, the uppers were misaligned vertically on the soles, they made my feet cramp and the cushioning and support failed after just a few weeks with less than 50 total miles on them. Running on those shoes, I developed foot, knee and leg problems that prevented me from running for several weeks. The next shoes won't be Asics.

These are great shoes, that very comfortable and stable. I actually do not do a lot of running, but I like the style and comfort of Asics for general purpose gym shoes.

Great shoes! I looked everywhere for this specific size and shoe (I have foot problems) and these fit the bill. Very cozy. Like walking on a cloud!

I need a shoe with maximum cushioning due to a softball injury. This shoe ranks number one among all of the cushioned shoes I have owned for the past 15 years. The cushioned ride is superb and is longer-lasting than other shoes that I have had to retire after just a couple of months. In my book, Asics has scored huge with this shoe. It is an instant classic for me. I hope they do not stop making it.

The Gel-Nimbus 12 took about three days to get accustomed to, and then it was great. My feet never felt better after running. No pain or discomfort. A very durable and supportive shoe.

As so many others have said, I got my order the next day. As for the shoes, they look and feel great. I have been wearing them every day with no complaints. The only thing I can say is that they fit fairly snug for my size. If you will be wearing thin socks, stick with your normal size. If you will be using thicker socks, you might want to move up half a size. Other than that, you wont be disappointed with these shoes. One other warning, the orange is very bright. Enjoy!

I have always found it difficult, if not impossible buying my shoe size in local stores. Luckily I was told about Zappos recently so went on line to investigate. I could hardly believe my eyes when I found them to have my favorite make and model in several color combinations so I connected with an agent and explained how my present pair were feeling tight and could she make a suggestion. It was recommended I order a wider shoe which I did. Upon arrival the following day I found they also felt tight so I called back and re-ordered the same shoe in a size up, only this time I ordered two pair in different colors. These were also delivered via express mail the next day and this time I had a perfect fit. I paid no delivery or return charges on these express orders which I found remarkable. Also the cost of my two pair of shoes was a big saving from what I paid at local stores. It was as if I had an Aladdin's lamp only instead of rubbing all I needed was to use my keyboard to have my wish fulfilled. Zappos is like a cave full of treasure just waiting for the right keystrokes. I can now, highly recommend Zappos from personal experience knowing I have made a good decision. Thank you Zappos, I shall return. I later found from my podiatrist, my feet have collapsed, the reason my regular shoe size no longer fit properly.

I love these shoes. I have very flat feet and they do not bite into my arches like others tend to. I also found the sizing to run about a half size large. I originally ordered 16's, but the were too big. The fifteens I exchanged them for were perfect.

I use these shoes only for running. I find them to be a tighter fit than comparable shoes by New Balance, but the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 12 shoes are light and comfortable, and are great for running.

As always, pure Gel-Nimbus nirvana. I am a devoted Asics Gel-Nimbus fan. Even tried a few others this time to shake things up and the cushioning and shock absorption didn't compare. I am a flat footed over pronator who loves this brand. One note-would have preferred a black lace option over the orange. Luckily had an old set around and switched then up for black.
