I was the first reviewer for this shoe, and I wanted to give my final update...after 6 months of marathon training (from 5-19 miles, yay). Small hole in the toe, next to the reflector. Sock liner has separated from memory foam around the heel, but not shredded. Solyte is compacted under ball of foot and inner crashpad. Outsole is barely worn, except along guidance line. Otherwise, the shoe is in perfect condition. I will definitely be buying again. Perfect shoe for me, a supinated distance runner, who likes the Asics feel (stiff heel cup, just enough arch, wide toe box).

Just got theses shoes and I must say really like them. I put them on right away and they feel great. I am not an avid runner but have recently picked up running again and I can't wait to try them. I do have to say I have never bought a pair of shoes this expensive and was leery, but as of right now they are the best pair of shoes I have ever worn! It is also one of the only shoes that come in size 16.

I've read numerous praises on previous reviews about these shoes and I definitely want to add to it: I'm a tall-big runner (6'4", 230) and bought these about a month ago to replace my New Balance's. What a difference these shoes have made! For bigger runners, the cushioning provided is ideal. I just completed a half-marathon in these last week and sustained zero impact injury. Additionally, these shoes are fantastic in protecting my feet and I have yet to develop any sort of blistering. I use these shoes daily to run a 10k distance in addition to the half-marathon mentioned above. The lacing system is unique, and I don't see the advantage to it; yet it doesn't take-away anything from this shoe either.

Great shoes. I ordered EEEE width and they fit perfectly. Finally, shoes that are true to width.

I'm an older runner who needs plenty of cushioning, and the Nimbus fits the bill very well. I don't over or under pronate, so my needs are pretty simple. I like Asics because I have a wide foot and narrow ankle, and these shoes fit me very well. I take a 4E, and Zappos is the easiest place to find them. I have also run in the Gel Cumulus, a less expensive shoe than the Nimbus. I think the heels are very similar in terms of cushioning, but the midsole doesn't offer as much cushioning as the Nimbus, and the tongue is not as cushioned. I'd recommend this shoe for anyone who doesn't have biomechanical problems and needs a lot of cushioning. Every foot is shaped differently, so Asics may not fit you as well as they do me, but Zappos has a great return policy, so give them a try! As for sizing, I take a street shoe in a 9.5 but in the Asics, I need a 10.

I've been wearing Asics for about 8 years. For my foot, they make the best running shoe on the market. I started with the 11xx series but soon shifted to the cloud series and the Nimbus is the best running shoe I've owned (on my fifth pair). If you have a fairly neutral gait and don't need a support shoe, this is an excellent choice.

Just wondering if I should buy a 3rd and maybe a 4th pair of these? You know how it goes...find something you really like and, Bam, they stop making them! I've run in a whole bunch of other brands and I got to tell you; Asics has it going on.

For someone with an extra-wide foot, this is simply the best neutral cushioned running shoe I have ever found.

I have owned Gel-Nimbus from generations 4 through 12. I am a long distance runner with big frame and nothing even comes close to this shoe and nothing. Plenty of room to insert custom orthotics, too. I can't figure out how Asics can continue making it better every year.

This is my first pair of Asics. I have extra wide EEEE feet (little bricks for feet) and have primarily purchased New Balance in the past. The Asics have a slightly snugger and better fit and feel more supportive in the arch. They are extremely comfortable. Although I bought them for jogging, I find myself wearing them throughout the entire weekend.

A very comfortable shoe. No need for extra pads in these, like some shoes require. I have an older pair of Asics, which I really like, but needed to go wider. I wasn't disappointed with these. I use them for everyday wear, so I don't need the runner's features, just comfort. I'd buy these again.

This is the 2nd pair of Asics Gel-Nimbus 12 that I have purchased. They are a great shoe. Extremely comfortable and cushion-y no matter how long you stand in them!

Awesome! Asics Corp., if you are reading these reviews, do not, do not change anything on the Nimbus 12! I will fly, drive, or run to where Asics HQ is and track down the person or persons that change anything on the 12 and, um...you know. Finally a great shoe designed specifically for the underpronator! Thanks.

I just ran in a long distance relay race and these Asics kept me comfortable the whole time. Usually when I run too much my knees hurt, but this time I had no pain. Definitely recommend.

This is a great shoe! I am upgrading from the Gel Nimbus 11 and these are better! They seem lighter but no less sturdy. I wore them for the first time this morning in the rain and got them nice and dirty! I look forward to many more miles in these great shoes! Thanks Asics! And Zappos' service is excellent! I had some minor problems with my order but the agents I spoke to really took care of business. Much appreciated Zappos!

My Gel-Nimbus 12s have replaced my very old Gel-Nimbus 10s and I can't believe how much more cushioning these have. The fit is very good despite the funky lacing system. I'm a heavy runner so the extra cushioning is greatly appreciated. I would recommend these sneakers to anyone looking for a great deal of cushioning.

This is a very comfortable shoe. It provides great cushioning and support. The trade off for the support and cushioning is a fairly rigid foot bed (so don't expect a lot of shoe flex). I'm not sure if it was my shoe-tie technique or the offset lacing system, but I had trouble keeping the shoes tied at first. Overall, it's a great shoe and has help reduced some knee stress I was experiencing with my prior shoes.

I've been using these shoes for the past 8 years and get the newest generation every time. They are great neutral balanced shoes with lightweight construction and hold through for any distance - marathon and above.

Shoes are not very comfortable. Compared to the Nimbus 11, these shoes (which by the way are 1/2 size larger & 4E) are much too tight. I have a high in-step, and it's as if the amount of material from the sole the laces has shrunk. I really like the feel of the sole, as it is very cush. I have a difficult foot to fit, so do not be put off by my review, I would still advise you to consider these shoes. Hopefully Zappos will exchange these for a 1/2 size larger.

This is a really good sneaker. It fits great and it looks great. I experience no heel slippage or inside foot irritation due to unnecessary contact with the sneakers interior. I highly recommend that you try out this sneaker.

Very happy with this shoe. To me the Nimbus 12 offered great cushioning, support, and is comfortable to wear. The lacing design lets my foot flex and my feet feel really locked in. The shoe is very lightweight and breathable and I would definitely recommend giving this shoe a try.

This shoe is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. It has the most effective cushioning I have ever felt in an athletic shoe and the styling is really nice. Very comfortable as an all day walking shoe as well as a running and training shoe.
