I usually wear a size 10 in Chuck Taylors, but the size 10 Jack Purcells were too tight. I contacted Zappos and they had a replacement pair shipped to me the next day! Amazing customer service and the new pair is perfect. I love the color. It's more of a mix of light purple and dark gray, but still very original. If you're thinking about getting Jack Purcells, just remember that they run a half size lower than what you'd normally wear in Chuck Taylors. Also, they're very narrow shoes, so keep that in mind (possibly try an entire size larger). Thanks again, Zappos!

The surplus grey is really lavender. Don't be fooled as I am guessing they pushed to much blue into there grey. Love them otherwise.

I got these in Pink/Off White and I love them. The laces are much better quality than normal Jack Purcells and they are shorter so they don't drag. I love the off white rubber! It looks so much better than the bright white and the pink is a nice bright flowery shade. I love it.

These are the coolest Converse I've owned (and I've owned plenty). The color is actually lavender, not gray, which I would call a good (if surprising) thing. The shoes are a little broader in the foot than previous Purcells. Again, something I really like. All together a lovely summer shoe.

Love these shoes much more than any other Converse! Ordered my regular shoe size and they fit perfectly. Considering buying another pair.

I've always loved the way Jack Purcell's looked on other people, especially women with smaller feet, but being a size 10 I tried these on years ago and didn't like how they looked on me. But I thought I'd give them another try. These shoes are great. They're perfect for when you need more support than flip-flops or a close-toed shoe but don't want to look too athletic by wearing running shoes. I love them with leggings and a long cardigan. They're a perfect shoe for my nannying or around town errands. Also, although they're labeled "Pale grey" I ordered them because they looked purple in the pictures - they are indeed more purple than they are gray.

Just received these shoes and love them! So comfortable and love the color! Now I want every possible color! Great for the mom on the go.I usually wear a 9.5 in Womens but ordered a 9...perfect fit. I love Zappos! I had the shoes next day! Best customer service!

I purchased the grey/off white Jack Purcells from Zappos and I am totally satisfied. The sneaker itself is very comfortable and I feel that it runs true to size. The shade of grey was a little lighter than I was hoping for, but I am still satisfied nonetheless. I also own the basic Converse All-Star, which is a great sneaker too, but the Purcell is way more comfortable. The Purcell has better arch support and more cushion inside the shoe. Basically, if you like the All-Star then you will love the Purcell.

An extremely comfortable shoe. I bought the JPs for my boyfriend, who has wide feet. He had trouble with the Chuck Taylors because of how narrow they were. However, the Jack Purcells are wider and more comfortable. He loves the color (it's like a washed out blue purple) and says they are the coolest shoes ever.

Just what I expected! Zappos is exceptional! I tried on a pair of Converse at another store. I really wanted them but they didn't have my size in the color I wanted. After reading the reviews here I went with the same size that fit me at the store. I'm glad I did. The Jack Purcell's are so much nicer than plain Converse shoes. I love the color and they fit great. I received the shoes in 3 days!

I have these in the grey...more like a tan/beige...and now have them in this...a pale purple. I love them both, well as much as one can love shoe. I wear a 9 or 9 1/2; the 8 1/2 fit perfectly in this style. I just purchased more Kate Spade socks. Too cute especially with the Purcells. I have happy feet and like looking at them!

Had to go down a 1/2 size. I wear women's 9 or 9 1/2 depending upon the maker. I even have one pair of shoes in a 10 but only the one. In these, I had to go down to 8 1/2.

I love these shoes! I am a stay at home mom. I put these on in the morning and they don't come off until the kids are in bed! Cute and comfortable! Also, I ordered these by 3 pm on December 23rd and had them by 11 am on December 24th. Unbelievable!

The color has a touch of lavender to it. I liked it. Jack Purcells are a classic and this pair is no different. Love them!

I bought these as a gift for an adult nephew. I wanted something a little different from the original Converse style, but still fun. These shoes were perfect. He loves them. I bought them from Zappos knowing that he could easily return and exchange for anything! But he says they are great! Very pleased with the purchase. Quick shipping too!

Bought these as a gift for my daughter. We both loved the color and they fit and delivery was prompt. Good value for the money.

Bought the grey and they are more lavender than grey. I'm okay with that, because I like purple. But be forewarned.

As a lifetime Converse wearer, the switch to Jack Purcells had me worried a little bit. But now that they're here, I love them! Other reviewers said that they looked purple - they looked grey to me, and I like the color. These are comfortable, too, and the reinforced toe is a nice touch. My only complaint is that they are a little bit wide for me, but I love them all the same! I highly recommend these!

These shoes are surprisingly comfortable. And I say "surprising" because Converses usually have rubbish foot support. These, though, have some nice padding and I could wear them all day. (Maybe that's just how the Jack Purcell line works?) As others have mentioned, calling these "Surplus Grey" is a bit of a misnomer -- it's more of a grayish purple or dusty purple. But, heck, that's the color I was hoping for, so I'm glad they're not pure gray. Sizing-wise, I normally wear either an 11 or 11 1/2 (depending on the brand). These, of course, aren't available in 11 1/2, so I ordered the 11 and they fit just fine.

Love these shoes. The color is good, kind of a purple-ish tint to the gray but faded in a good way. Easy return to get correct size, which I love about Zappos.

Like this shoe a lot but it does run a half size larger in my opinion. I originally purchased a Ladies 6.5 and my husband said that it looked like clown shoes on me. I exchanged for a 6 and it made a huge difference. I love the faded navy with the white stitching! I have a pair of original Converse All Stars and I don't think these have any more foot support than those - they are the same to me. I want to get the gray color to see if it really is purple like the reviews say.
