I'm a big fan of New Balance in general and these shoes do not disappoint. They look great and feel great. I have three specific comments: 1. I like the fact that there is no little loop at the top rear of the heel. I never once used that loop to help enter the shoe and it always seemed to catch the hem of my jeans. 2. The toe box is a little narrower than I'm used to in the New Balance fit. If you like a lot of room for your toes, this might not be the shoe for you. 3. There is a diagonal piece of plastic running from the top of the heel to the arch. It doesn't appear to have any function. It's not good or bad, it's just there.

Great shoes. I wear orthotics and they work very well with these shoes. Best I've bought in a long while.

I wanted something to walk with that did not hurt my feet. These New Balance are very comfortable. I am very happy. I am a New Balance fan because I don't have to worry about hurting feet when I walk. I try to walk every day for 30 minutes or so. These are great for me.

My husband has high arches and wide feet - he walks 3-5 miles per day - these are the best shoes he as found for support and comfort. However after watching crazy stupid love he will only wear them when exercising.

I need a shoe that is neutral to slightly supinating. This shoe is working well for me. It is very comfortable and stylish. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a shoe with the same characteristics.

These shoes fit great and are very comfortable. I have to wear custom insoles so they shoes are wide enough to accomodate these and still fit well.

Not only functional in the gym or walking or even a body pump class, these are available in a 2AA narrow size, excellent fit, stability, and weight.

A very underrated NB shoe, I have had these a little over a month with excellent fit and performance. I wear a 9AA width, and these fit the bill, no break in period, excellent for cross training and even sprints. An excellent looking shoe not only for the gym but with jeans as well.

New Balance has always been a favorite of mine. Their shoes nearly always conform to the shape of my feet, i.e., a little wider at the toe and narrower at the heel. This particular model grips the bottom of the heel firmly but gently with very little slippage or rubbing -- good for avoiding blisters. The shoe is sturdy and protective, though fairly lightweight. I like the black-on-black styling better than I thought I would; I can wear them with just about anything casual, and they\'ll be my No. 1 shoe on a coming trip to Europe with lots of walking on cobblestones ahead.

Ordered these for my grandson who has flat feet and he loves them. Says they are the most comfortable shoes he has ever worn. A real winner.

I normally wear 11 2E or 3E and a custom orthotic. I went with the 11 4E and they fit like a glove. Going to the widest width is why I marked them "narrower than marked", but that width does fit well (at least for me) right out of the box. They have a somewhat narrow heel and wide toe box so no issues with the orthotic sliding around. Well pleased with these shoes so far.

If you have narrow feet, like I do, after 74 years I have a pair of sneaks that actually fit. They are the best! And to top it off the people at Zappos are the best to deal with. Thanks Zappos for my first sneaks that fit in my entire life!

On average I walk 3 miles minimum a day. This shoe has been working great. Friends like the style.

After going through many great purchases from Zappos, I have finally found what is the perfect shoe for me. I wear a 4EEE and my feet are as flat as a board. When I took these shoes out of the box, put them on and walked around for a few minutes, I went right back and ordered the same shoe in white. They're great for cross-training.

The best walking/comfort shoe I have owned. In fact so comfortable that I bought a black pair for work since I am on my feet all day.

A wonderfully comfortable shoe, well worth the money. I walk every day for 90 minutes to two hours for exercise and my feet do not hurt afterward or the next morning. Recently I've had high-end Reebok's and Nike's and my feet were always sore but now that I have the NB's that is not an issue. So, after a couple of days of break-in, they are by far the best walking shoe I have ever worn. I will buy them again for sure. Yes, they are a little pricey, but true comfort comes at a price.

I just bought these and am very happy with them. Very comfortable. I probably could have gotten a half size larger, but think these in 4E will be fine with thinner socks. NB seem to run small. I have some 992's in a half size larger and before I lace them up they feel like they could be too large, but then after being laced they feel very roomy, still, but extremely comfortable and work well on the treadmill without any slippage in the heel. Therefore, when in doubt, error on the side of going larger with New Balance in both length and width. And, Zappos has a very easy exchange/return process.

This was an excellent pair of walking shoes, delivered with Zappos efficiency. Several years ago, I purchased an earlier version of this shoe, which was not as comfortable. These fit perfectly out of the box and required no breaking in to provide full-day comfort.

I had previously owned a pair of New Balance 845 shoes and loved them, so when it came to buy a new pair the new Model 846 was replacing the 845. No local store had the 846. I got online and immediately found them at Zappos. My order from Zappos arrived a few days later and everything was as stated online. I am perfectly pleased with my new shoes and Zappos. I will be a return customer.

I have always bought New Balance shoes mainly because they are one of the few companies that offer them in narrow widths. I love these MW846 shoes for their comfort and support and they fit my foot perfectly. My wife just got a pair and she loves hers too.
