I originally ordered the NB MX623 in brown, size 12.5. The shoes arrived in short order but seemed somewhat small so I had ordered the same shoe in white, this time size 13... I had looked under the tongue of the brown ones and noticed they were made in Vietnam... The quality of the brown suede shoes made in Vietnam was what I had expected from NB... Can’t say the same thing for the white. Be advised the white shoes were made from some artificial leather which seemed to be quite thin, so thin that I could not return the white ones fast enough... Noteworthy is the fact that the white ones were made in China. Not only did the plasti-leather uppers seem super thin but also the size 13 was probably more like a size 14... Way too long... Needing a pair of white conservative sneakers. I’m far too old for multicolored styles. I ordered the Nike T-lite VIII leather... The Nikes were made of much thicker material, were sized right, and saved some money. I also had bought the NB Classic M574 which also are suede and made in Vietnam... Once again the quality, fit, and comfort of NB shoes is strictly top notch (IF MADE IN VIETNAM of SUEDE Leather). Be advised the Nikes were made in China, not Vietnam, but as stated before NIKE/CHINA quality is on a par with NB Vietnam/suede... I ended up with 3 pairs of sneakers I am quite happy with... Zappos made the exchanges with no problems at all. All Zappos employees were polite, knowledgeable, and efficient.

This shoe felt and looked good when I first tried it on. But, later I noticed my toes were pushed right up into the toe of the shoe. I now realized I should have returned them immediately to get a 1/2 higher size.

I usually wear a 12 or 12.5 and bought this in a 13. Shoes are definitely shorter than usual and they felt narrower than other shoes with similar widths. Not sure if this is the case with all New Balances, but I would recommend a slightly longer shoe than you would normally buy.

These started out being very good shoes but the seems around the toes started coming apart about four months in and the inside sides were just shredded. I only wear them to the gym four days a week so that is not much wearing. The last pair of New Balance did the same thing on the inside. Well after over a dozen pairs this is the last pair I am going to buy until they get their act together and going so cheap on the labor/materials.

I've been wearing size 14 for many years, and have purchased New Balance shoes before, but these were the smallest size 14s I've even encountered. I wish I'd realized right away before I wore them so much I couldn't return them!

I was hoping these would fit as well as my 621 pair in the same size (10 1/2, 2E). They look very similar, but the toe width felt tighter and it looked narrower across the toes as well...perhaps that is supposed stretch in time, but I wore them for several days, and it doesn't seem like it is improving at all.

In general I love New Balance shoes because I have a large, wide foot. Normally I buy a 15 4E. The 15 4E in this shoe was significantly narrower than other New Balance shoes I've worn. If you have a narrow foot, this probably won't be an issue, but it was a deal breaker for me. I'm returning them and trying a different style. Zappos.com gets a lot of credit, however, for making that process easy.

This show was not as good as the first one I got on Zappos, but it really came fast.

Somehow it is getting harder and harder to find wide shoes. I have worn NB for years because they offer wide widths and the last two pairs I have bought are not true to size. 4E feels more like a D.

A good looking sneaker that feels rather stiff. Perhaps it needs to be broken in. It just doesn't feel quite right on my feet. Hopefully, as I continue to wear them they will feel more comfortable.

I've worn 600 series New Balances for over 20 years buying the new model every year. They always fit great and were very comfortable until the 623 series which are terrible. They feel like I have bricks strapped to my feet and have no arch support whatsoever. What happened New Balance? How can you go from best to worst in one year? Mine ended up at Goodwill.

I officiate basketball and have tried a number of different cross trainers over the years. This is my first disappointment with a New Balance shoe. The original insoles felt hard and unyielding with minimal support. I was also experiencing heel pain after wearing them for games. I replaced the insole with a Spenco insole but even that didn't fix the problem, so I can only assume it is a design flaw.

Okay overall, but certainly a different fit (as someone who was a long-time Nike wearer). Treads have basically no grip at all; if you intend to get on your bike with these, you'll find your feet jumping all around the pedals, and if you get bored like I do and try to run up walls, then you won't be able to do that anymore, either.

I ordered a pair of New Balance 623's based on the 5 star rating. True to Zappos reputation they were delivered the very next day. (How do they do that?) The 623's "creaked" with each step. Zappos made a prompt return and replacement. Yep, had 'em the next day. But the replacement shoes; same size 10-4 wide, were noticeably smaller. They'll be returned in the morning. I really hate to do so, at this point I'm only overhead to Zappos. Think I'm reconsidering my 30 + year commitment to New Balance. Something not so good has happened to them since my last Zappos/NB purchase.

I've worn New Balance for a number of years, but the soles have come un-glued on two recent pair (MX608V2 and MX623), and my last pair, MX1012 are small. I saw another review that talked about manufacturing moving from China to Vietnam - I'm not sure I want New Balance again.

I liked these shoes for the first six months of ownership. After about that time I noticed the leather near the stitching (front outside part of the shoe) had failed. The stitching is okay, but the shoe is "blown out." Good while they lasted, and other than this looked like they would have lasted much longer.

The tongues of these shoes are too short. Can't even fully lace them due to this. Never had an athletic shoes with this defect. If I hadn't already worn and thrown the box away I would return.

Most uncomfortable pair of NB's I have ever purchased! I have been a New Balance customer for over ten years, but will begin to look for other brands the next time I buy.

I've been wearing New Balance shoes for years because they fit great, and I recently needed to "upgrade" from the MW576 walking shoe to a more versatile cross trainer. I gave the MX623 a try, and unfortunately it is the first NB shoe I've ever worn that doesn't fit properly. While the 13EE is true to length, there is a pronounced taper that makes the shoe as narrow as a D in the toe area. Whose brilliant idea was that? The shoes appear well made, but I cannot recommend this product due to the narrow toe fit.

Cons: Uncomfortable after an hour and unwearable after two hours, at least if you have five toes per foot. The mid-shoe width is fine, as is the length to big toe. But the angle at the toe end is far too sharp, compressing the little toes and their neighbors. Brings to mind an antiquated, misogynistic Chinese custom that--pure guesswork here--New Balance wouldn't want to be associated with. Pros: Very attractive. And it feels truly fabulous to take them off.

I have worn New Balance shoes for years. I could always ask for my size and they would fit. Now it is hit or miss on whether the size is true to what it says it is. I ordered these in an 11 4E and they were narrower than 4E and a half to a full size shorter tan an 11. Very disappointing. Just glad I bought them from Zappos.

These shoes are awful...terribly made. The first pair arrived torn or never even sewn in a spot. The second pair, after 2 and a half months of wearing, and not even every day, the stitching tore again. First pair of New Balance we have had trouble with, but switching to Nike for now. Zappos, as usual, is awesome and replaced with new Nikes.

I have extremely wide feet, and have been wearing a New Balance EE, which is still a bit tight. I ordered this in a 4E, or extra wide, thinking it would be more comfortable, but the shoe was much narrower than my New Balance EE. I don't think they're true to size in regard to width. They were so narrow the toe was almost pointed at the end.

Bought these shoes for work. Wore them throughout just seven shifts and will never put them on my feet again. Completely flat inside. No arch support at all. Caused me terrible knee and foot pain. Went back to wearing my old worn out New Balances because they have much more support.

Much too narrow. NB must have changed their lasts. Will return and find something else. Maybe another brand. Disappointing.
