These Birkenstocks are the way to go. This was my first time owning a pair and I got my actual shoe size. I would recommend trying them on in a store before ordering. The front part of them may seem like your toes are constantly bumping them when you walk, but after wearing them for a couple hours, they seemed to break in a little better. They are very cute and stylish yet simple. They are perfect for summer!!

I wanted to replace an older pair of Mayaris (bought from Zappos in 2013). I have been wearing size 39 M (regular) Birkenstocks in various styles, including the Mayari, for about 20 years, so I was crushed when I tried these on and they didn't fit. I held up my old Mayaris to the news ones I just received from Zappos, sole to sole, and the new pair is visibly more narrow (somewhere between an eighth and a quarter of an inch more narrow). My feet are on the wide side of normal width, so this makes a difference. I am so disappointed these didn't work, as Birkenstocks have been a staple of my summer wardrobe forever, and I fear the next size up will be too long. So disappointed. But grateful to Zappos for their return policy and overall great service.

I needed some comfortable sandals that I wouldn't slip in (I'm seven months pregnant). These feel very secure, have good support. They definitely are taking some breaking in, but I am noticing a difference after a week. I wear a size 8 and the 39 fit well.

These were so great that my daughter borrowed them and refused to give them back; now I have to order another pair for myself

I love Birkenstocks, and I've been wearing them forever. These are so cute. They technically sort of fit me, but the regular width is astonishingly narrow. It's hard to believe they would put out a shoe this shape and call it regular width. I will still wear them because they are adorable, but these are not the walk-around-all-day high quality Birkenstocks we all know and love.

I ordered these shoes at the start of summer and have been wearing them for about a month now. They are comfortable for long distances along with cute for dressier outfits. Since the shoes are made out of high quality materials they are sturdy and should last for a long time. Durability is one thing I look for is a good pair of sandals and these knocked it out of the park. With the high quality leather that is used they are not only comfortable but also breathable to wear. These shoes could be and are worn by women of all ages. They are most ideal for a night by the fire or just strolling around running errands. With being able to adjust the loops on the front of the shoe it is easy to make them feel comfortable and fit perfectly to all foot shapes and sizes. The sole of the shoe aides in assisting the feminine look of the shoe, along with the aiding in the comfort of forming to your foot. Although these shoes are very durable their water resistance is not ideal. The fabric and materials that they are made of are not good to get wet or to wear in the rain. With that said they are perfect for a sunny spring, summer or even a fall day. There are multiple colors available in this style, but the golden-brown color with hints of black really impressed me. This color is a stand out color for sure and is easy to match and wear with whatever is in style. The size of these shoes run a tad big, I have pretty small feet so the narrow 38 was best fitting to my foot and looked sliming. I usually wear a 7.5 (U.S. women’s) in sandals so the 38 narrows fit perfectly with my foot shape. Fore warning these shoes do need to be broken in. Wearing these for the first time when needing to walk long distances is not ideal. Take the time to break these in and allow them to form to your feet and you will soon realize that you will never want to take them off. I highly recommend this pair of Birkenstocks.

I usually wear a 9 or so, so I ordered a 40 and had to exchange it for a 39. After that they fit pretty well but they do feel just the slightest bit big. They have a really supportive footbed though, so I kept them. Only thing I would recommend is getting the care kit from Birkenstock - the cork on mine is starting to dry out just a bit, and I think re-sealing it would be a good idea.

They didn't work for me but my daughter loves them.

I really wanted nothing more than to love these Mayari's. The heel and arch felt great, but the toe ridge built into the shoe was probably too hight because it dug right into the underside of my toe, making it painful to walk. I have such terrible feet from being on them for my job for many years, so I was finally excited to try these to see if they relieved my foot pain. I would still recommend them though! Unfortunately they didn't work out for me, but I still think they're a great looking sandal.

The Birkenstock Mayari is very comfortable. I usually wear a narrow width but with his design I didn't need narrow. This design also runs large so ordering the next size down would work for most.

I bought these shoes a year ago in golden brown Birko-Flor. They are comfortable and the tread has held up, but I have had some issues with the cork and Birko-Flor. Within a few months of purchase, the cork cracked on the instep of both shoes where it bends by the toes, next to the Birko-Flor seam. Also, the Birko-Flor pills, and the fuzzy underside has crept out from under almost all the straps. I love the design and would buy it again, but, when these wear out, I will choose leather next time. Wish the leather came in a wider variety of colors, though.

This Birkenstock style runs 1/2 size long. I ordered #38M for my 7.5/8M size foot. The leather rubbed against my big toe & was uncomfortable, not suede but oil rubbed leather. If you have a narrow foot I definitely recommend ordering a Narrow!

I wanted to love these because they're more stylish than the Arizona, which I own and love. However, neither Birko Flor nor oiled leather versions of these felt right against my skin--too rough or stiff--so I'm sending them back. I don't believe a break-in period would have worked for these materials. Now if only this model came with suede or soft leather straps, I would have probably kept the pair. I have a wide foot with plantar fasciitis, ugh! So normally Birks regular widths do it for me. Thank you Zappos for offering a good selection of Birkenstocks! Now please get more of the Salina and other cute versions into stock, please, for larger-footed ladies like me.

Based on the reviews, I ordered a regular width toffee and a narrow width golden brown pair to compare. My feet are not wide, but I found the regular to fit better, mostly because the toe box area is a bit more generous. I have long toes, so I need that bit of extra space. The golden brown and the toffee are very close in color. The golden brown has more of an olive base, where as the toffee has more of a reddish brown base. Both have a shimmery sheen that makes them appear a bit metallic. Both are very versatile colors. I haven't had a pair of Birkenstocks for probably 20 years, and the hard foot bed of the sandal will take some getting use to for me. I will wear them in small doses. I also purchased a pair of regular width for my 13 yr old who does have a narrow foot. The regular fits her fine too. She was able to start wearing hers all day, every day without any break in period.

Having to send these back for a smaller size, which I had read would happen to I ordered a size smaller than normal. I think they're worth it though cause I'm re-ordering!

I have worn this style before. This pair I am returning because it caused my right foot pain . It did not fit.

I use size 6 US and I ordered 37 (6-6.5) Regular width, but they were too big. I had to exchange them for 36 (5-5.5) and they fit better. Still wish I could have ordered them Narrow width, but I guess now I'm getting use to them. They now fit me just fine.

Takes a while to break them in and get used to the style (feel a bit hard on my feet) but comfy after.

I have never worn Birkenstocks. My sister has always worn them and she loves them. I could not find a pair of sandals that I could just slip into so I checked out Birkenstock styles. Love this style. I have a wide (W) foot but the regular width fit perfect. I even had to adjust the strap to the next hole. Have only worn them around the house to get the feel of them because the weather is still too cold and rainy to wear them outside.

These shoes run a half size to a full size larger. I usually wear a 6 and had to order a 36 (5-5.5). They have good support and are comfortable.

I love the style of these sandals but I wasn't crazy about the color in person. It's like a green/brown and I was expecting more of a brown. Going to return and get a different color. These sandals are very comfortable though!

I received my birks and immediately started wearing them. Initially they were great! I felt great support esp on my arches...I have high arches. However after I couple days the top of my feet were ripped open from the rubbing of the straps. I understand that there would be a "breaking in" period but this felt extream. Despite this I plan on letting my feet heal and properly preparing my feet because they are quite comfortable otherwise. As a fellow retail professional I would recommend Birkenstock providing direction on how to "break in" the shoe when purchasing. This would be the ultimate customer service!

Love these sandals but had to return for a size smaller and narrow. Seem to run larger and wider than my normal shoe size. They are very comfortable and great looking feminine sandals! Will definitely be buying other colors in the future!
