I've been a fan of the NB 574 for the past 12 years and like the performance and esthetic of the 574 for many reasons, the style and comfort most importantly. My recent purchase was a bit disappointing though as the quality has obviously declined to the point that I feel I'm may have to start sourcing a better brand of shoe if this downward trend continues. The insole and laces were of such poor quality that I immediately replaced them so that I could enjoy my purchase.

Good looking shoe but I had to send them back because they felt really loose around my heel, even with thick socks.

The shoes were not as well made as my other New Balance... I have a pair that has 100 miles on them and they still hold their shape and my foot. This particular model feels like the outside of my foot will be rubbing on the ground... I believe that the width is narrower than marked...

It was too tight around my toes. My big toe constantly feels crushed against the front. My first pair of NB that don't fit well.

Impossibly tight - could barely get my foot into the shoe. Might be a good shoe if I could get the right size but not worth the effort. I wear 6.5 Wide and these do not seem wide to me, so tight there is no way I could wear them so they are going back. However, the same size "SKECHERS Quantum Flex Country Walker" fit me perfectly and are EXTREMELY comfortable.

I tried to like these shoes...I really tried. I've had them for nearly a year now and, while they look great, they're just not comfortable on my feet. I even replaced the insoles with Dr. Scholl's with no luck. It's gotten to the point where I don't like wearing them and have chosen to purchase a pair of Sauconys to see if those are any better. It's unfortunate because they are a good looking pair of shoes, just not all that comfortable for me.

These feel much wider than pervious years that I've bought them. They slip off my heels a lot. Im not sure if the sizing has changed.

Far more narrow than I expected.

I liked the style of these in navy/red but the toe box was a bit tight on my feet which are normal width. They didn't feel quite as supportive as the Nike Air's I have ordered from Zappos, but would be great for purely casual wear. These were my first return to Zappos.

The shoes are fashionable, however the EE claim is a lie. These shoes are no wider than the regular width shoe. They are built on exactly the same sole, just have a "little" more fabric to create a bigger volume for a wider foot. Doesnt work very well in practice, and is quite uncomforatble for wide footed people like myself. Stay away if you need a true wide size.

Looking for shoe to wear when traveling abroad. These were not wide enough or give me the desired back support.

Such a bummer, we ordered these shoes (labeled as EE width), but they were definitely not wide. Seemed very average width. My husband has wide feet and we have no problems with other brands - Clarks, Asics, Keen, etc, but these were not as wide as those brands. They are such stylish shoes we were sad to send them back!

Just didn't love the look in person. Had to return because they looked clunky for tennis shoes.

Love the look of these but they are too narrow in the mid foot . Even with really thin socks. I'm on the fence....,do I exchange them for EE wide or go back to Adidas Neo retros? I'm surprised that NB would be narrower. The toe seems fine , it's the mid foot side areas. Should I wait until they stretch? Don't know.

These are the first size 13 shoes that my husband has been unable to wear due to their constrictive nature. We will be ordering another style within the New Balance brand and hopefully this shoe was just a fluke. Other than that, the shoe is soft and good-looking

These run narrow and short. If you're a medium width choose the wide and go up a half size on length. I usually wear size 10 and normal width in most styles and brands but am doing 10.5 and wide with these!

These are very pretty shoes. I bought them for my six year old and they looked so nice that I also bought them for my husband. They look very stylish. But they are very difficult to keep clean (even if you scotch guard them) and to clean (they are suede so they require special cleaners). Also, I am not very convinced as to their durability. After less than five month (and not warring them every day but alternating with other sneakers) the part around the ankle is frayed. I was expecting them to last much longer. Hence a lower overall rating.

Loved the look of this shoe, but they were unwearably narrow on me, even with their 2E width. I normally wear a 10.5 in vans pretty comfortably, so I figured the wide 10.5 New Balance would be fine. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.

I wanted to like these but they do not feel like a true EE wide to me. Other brands EE wide usually work for me but these are just too narrow. Otherwise they felt comfortable and they looked retro cool. Bummer.

I am a long time New Balance customer. I have switched to Saucony. I tried these for nostalgia. They are too stiff and tight (width).
