I should play the lottery based on my fortunate purchase timing. We had nearly 10 days straight rain in Atlanta right after they arrived. They were perfect. I did debate for a day about whether I should return them because they run SO large. I wear an 8 typically, but still ordered an 8, thinking that I would wear extra-thick socks with them. Even with thick socks, my feet knocked around in them a bit. I wore them nonetheless, and they kept my feet nice and dry. After purchasing the shearling insoles, they were a perfect fit.

Little more snug around my calf than I would have liked, but I have larger calves so I was expecting them to possibly be. Overall pleased with these boots.

They are beautiful and they fit. Glossy and sturdy. However removing them is so difficult it induces stress and anxiety. They are not for me.

Just what I needed, after my old Sperry ones split. I use these for dog-walking in the early morning as well as for wet weather. They are extremely comfortable with a sport sock, I see no need to buy the Hunter socks. I wear a 9.5 in US brands and a 40.5 in European brands, the size 9 was fine. My only concern is that the shaft is fairly wide, and may let in rain from the top during a shower, but that has still to be tested.

Love the Hunters! Had ordered the higher Huntress first but I have very muscular calves and they were too tight. Went with the short version and although they meet at the calf they are a little snug but tolerable.

I really l like the way these look, but they could be more comfortable. They are straight up rubber boots without much cushioning! Also, if you wear them with bare calves the rubber will dig into your calves. Sacrifices for style!

I ordered these over the regular ones because I am 4'11". These stop at about mid-calf on me. I wear a 6.5 in most shoes. I ordered a 5 in these, and they were a little too snug for my liking, so I exchanged them for a 6. There is a little bit of wiggle room now. I have not worn them out yet, but I love them already!

After trying the Original Tall I ended up with the Short mainly because they were easier to get off! Everything about the boot fits great...plenty of room in the calf. They look nice and will be put to good use in the yard and occasional trip to the store. I'm an 8 1/2 and I got the 8 which are just right. I tried the 9 but they were way too big and still difficult to get off! I am able to wear the fleece sock insert too as well as having room for pants legs. (A little harder to take off but still okay.) Overall the short Hunter in gloss is useful, stylish and comfortable.

Such a cute boot! I was so excited to order short Hunters. Unfortunately, they were too narrow for my athletic calf. I was really crossing my fingers that top of the boot would be too high up my leg, but sadly, they were. If they were high ankle boots, I think they'd be perfect. I'll keep trying to find a pair of cute rain boots.

After years of wanting Hunter rain boots, I finally bought them! I love the color. Not the most comfortable, but they're not really supposed to be I don't think.

These were very large and loose on my feet. I normally wear 7.5-8 but ordered the 8 as I figured I'd be wearing thicker socks. Still way too large. Too bad, they are gorgeous!

Great boot for wide calves. However, it rubs against your leg so you'll need a sock. I also found that the label info on the inside of the boot rubbed off on my leg.

7.5 normally so I got an 8. Will be ok with thick socks but too big. If I knew they ran lg I would have gotten a 7!

Good, but a bit pricey considering I had to add an insert for foot bed comfort. You do need to wipe them after each use to prevent salt build-up.

I wear 9.5. The 9 was absolutely perfect in the foot and the 10 was way too large so if you're firmly in half-size territory, I would definitely order down. However, if you have wider calves, even with a tall sock these will dig in when you walk. I wore them around the house for 5 minutes and while it wasn't unbearable, it definitely wouldn't be fun to walk around in these for an hour. I really wanted these to work but they're not for wide calf ladies. *Sad face*

I bought these in my correct shoe size, 9, and they fit perfectly. I do have wide feet. They come up to about mid calf and do leave a burn mark if you don't wear long socks. I was a little disappointed that there isn't enough room to shove the ends of my jeans in, but wearing skinny jeans solves that problem. However, if you have pants that are wider at the bottom, you should get a larger size. They are comfortable and definitely keep the water out. I use them as rain boots and winter boots. I love the simplistic look and shine. Definitely eye-catchers.

These boots get 5 stars for style. They are cute and I get lots of compliments. They are lighter and more flexible than my previous boots so I don't feel like I'm stomping around with Frankenstein feet that don't bend at the ankles. A word of warning as several other reviewers said, they can TEAR UP your calves if your socks are too short. I wore tall socks but they slid down during the day leaving my calves exposed. The result was a strange burn-looking band around both calves that is still there 10 days later. The boots had plenty of room in the calves so they weren't rubbing against my skin, they just barely touched it. OW! I will probably keep them. I just bought some knee high socks.

With these being my second pair of hunters but my first pair in the shorter version, I pretty much knew what to expect, a very functional and comfy welly, in a fun color. I originally ordered in the brick color but in person it was a bit dull. Paired with the short welly socks, these will keep you warm and dry on the rainiest of days!

The color of these boots is so lovely. I normally wear size 8½ and choose the 9 so I could wear them with big socks but in the end I wish that I had sized down. The opening at the top (even buckled down as tight as it will go) is a bit large and looks a little sloppy unless you have leg warmers on. I still love wearing them even if they are too big.

A well-made boot. I have not had a pair of rain boots in years and have continuously flooded my sneakers during the winter. I finally broke down and bought a pair of these. I will warn you though that I have thick calves and I the boots cut into my leg when I wore them. I still have marks a few weeks later. I invested in the welly socks that are also sold on Zappos and the problem was resolved. Also, I usually wear an 8 or 8 1/2, but the 9 fit better.

I've wanted these red Hunter boots a long time but didn't want to spend the money. Finally bought them and I really love how they look. I am a true 8 1/2 and got these in a size 8. There is plenty of wiggle room in the toe area. As some other reviewers said, they do chafe the back of your calves if you wear them without pants tucked in. I also bought a fun pair of Dirty Laundry rain boots in orange/fuchsia for less the same height as the Hunters. They don't rub the back of my leg and I kinda like them better. So it's Dirty Laundry for the Dog Park and Hunter's for nicer occasions. Go figure. Zappos overnight shipping rocks.

Super fun and cute! I bought these in a 9 even though I'm usually a 9.5 or even 10. Fit perfectly. I was really happy when I bought them. They were a great color and high quality. My only problem is that they "bloomed" even though they are glossy. Great boot, definitely worth the money.

Love my new hunter boots, keeps my feet dry when there's rain. I did purchase the Hunter socks that go with them and they make the fit a little tighter.
