Sturdy, comfortable and waterproof. After one wearing at home, I wore these hiking in Norway. We climbed mountains and it rained every day; No blisters and my feet stayed dry. I did put in some cushier insoles. In street shoes I wear a size 6.5 C or 7 C, and I bought these in an 8 wide. They are good little boots.

Loved these boots initially. They were old but little used but looked to be in great condition. Uppers and tread still looked excellent and were comfortable to wear around the neighborhood. Took them hiking a few weeks ago and the sole separated while on an uphill hike. Had to tie the laces under the soles to make it back downhill. I contacted Lowa and was told that they do not consider this a quality or manufacturing defect. They use polyurethane mid - soles, something other manufacturers do not. For good reason! This material is susceptible to hydrolysis or "dry rot" (their explanation and actual words- "dry rot!") They claim if the boots are used frequently this is less likely to happen. No apology or anything, just a statement that this is what this material can do. Offered to give me a token discount for ordering more of their dangerous product. No thank you.
These boots are dangerous! They can literally rot (while still looking fine!. They should come with a warning. I will never buy another Lowa product.

I work backstage in a theater, so I need something lightweight, quiet, & good for doing a lot of stairs. This fit the bill pretty well.
This is a bit lighter grey in person than on my monitor, but still suitable for work.
It's quite comfortable right out of the box, although I think I will wind up stretching the toe box a bit, as I can feel it rubbing on my little toe.

beautifully made, but I sure could not wear them out of the box. In fact they are quite stiff, and even with thick socks my foot moved around. Tried different insoles, extra pair of socks, different lacing technique for narrow heels, but I just could not get comfortable walking around inside my house. The insoles that come with the shoes are not good. Would have to use my own. Regardless I could not get comfortable. Must return.

I was unaware of the Lowa brand before purchasing these hiking boots two weeks ago. Based on all of the positive reviews, I took a chance on buying the boots and taking them on our family vacation which included some hiking in the woods and walking in a city. The boots were very comfortable and provided a great deal of support while keeping my feet cool. I would definitely recommend these boots.

I think these are very comfortable, and true to size. They are also very lightweight which I like. I have narrow feet and a high arch, and I have bought Lowa's before with great success. I am looking forward to wearing these for many years.

I have one foot that runs a bit wide so I ordered the wide. they fit well as I wear with mid-weight cushy hiking socks. I bought these boots after I sprained and ankle and they provide secure and comfortable support for my ankle. I have worn them on a couple of shorted hikes/walks and they are very comfortable, no rubbing anywhere.
I'd also recommend:

Finally I replaced my old pair with a new one and I hope it will last as well. My new pair is comfortable from the start. It is totally waterproof. I wear them in summer and in winter in a snow. I always travel with a pair of Lowa no matter on a season of year. I cannot imagine different brand for my hiking boot. I am hooked on Lowa.
I had the same model of shoes for 14 years before finally they fell apart on me. I did not want to give up my boots that were with me since 2000 till 2014 all over the world. I told my husband that I will wear them until they disintegrate while I am was wearing them. I stayed true to my vow. They fell apart on me in Barcelona in autumn of 2014.
I definitely recommend Lowa Renegade.
By the way, Zappos service is incredible.

This is a solid hiking shoe, well made and sturdy. But I have wide feet and even the wide size ran narrow for me. The toe box is almond shaped, so this shoe will work better for people with narrower feet.

I'm new to hiking but just retired so finally have time to do so many things I've always wanted to do. I read quite a lot online, especially Hiking Lady. Who has quite a bit to say about narrow feet, which I have. I wore these inside my house for one day, decided they did seem to fit, then put them back in the box and debated for 2 months. I finally wore them out of the house on a cold, very rainy day. What fun to be able to slosh through mud and puddles! I've worn them on hikes quite a few times, wearing toe socks plus thick socks. No blisters, no painful spots. In this newbie's opinion, they're great!

I know these are expressive, but I hike a lot and have had five foot surgeries. I'm a disabled veteran. These are the most comfortable boots I have.

LOVE THESE BOOTS. Used these boots on a week long hike on the Appalachian trail. To be honest, I didn't break them in at all (dumb I know) but they worked out perfectly, no blisters or sore feet at all!

These are my first pair of real hiking boots. In the past I've used trail running shoes and didn't know what I was missing out on! These handle uneven ground with ease and make you feel so secure when scrambling up or down a mountain. Traction is great and makes you feel like you could conquer the world! I have issues with my arch but had no pain with these.
I got these on super sale at a store closing and bought a size 6 because that's all that was left. Normally I'm a size 6.5 or 7, on the low end of a 7. The 6 feels fine most of the time but my baby toe did start to feel a bit cramped after 3 hours of hiking a moderate grade, mostly from the downhill not so much uphill. My boyfriend had the men's version and he says his stretched out by at least 1/2 a size over time so here's hoping. The next pair I purchase will likely be a 6.5 though.
I will never go back to trail running shoes and will surely replace this pair with another.

Awesome boot. We went to the Grand Canyon and multiple other areas in AZ and I never had wet or achy feet. I did get some excellent hiking socks to accompany the boot which helped. If you do not cover your ankle under the boot, the material is abrasive. I believe I will have these for life.

I have always bought Lowa boots because of their comfort and they just fit me well. However, I can no longer recommend these boots as they fall apart, the soles delaminate from the the boots. This has happened on my last two pairs of boots. They are way too expensive to get only 2 years from a pair of hiking boots and the company does not warranty them for this obvious defect. It's a shame as I really loved these boots.

As with all the hiking boots I have tried these are still too narrow and I have tried everything from men's to women's. I am not sure what companies think are wide shoes. I am keeping them because they are the best of all the ones I have tried including those made by Keen, Vasque, and Salomon. There is no arch support and I needed to add an arch support and heel cup (too wide in the heel) in order for them to be somewhat comfortable. I hike 4-6 hours, 2-3000 ft elevation gain/loss.

Really disappointed with these boots. They don't offer great support and the base has my foot tilting in towards the inside which I have never found before. I love Lowa shoes but these are not up to par.

As one might notice from the photo, these boots are for rugged trails, and maybe for backpacking, rather heavy duty. Too wide for my narrow feet and a wide heel bed, cause my heel to slip. They are made very well.

Lowa is the first boot that is actually has narrows. If I were on a backpacking hike, these boots would be prefect, but for day hikes they are just too much of a heavy duty boot. They are made very well and hopefully there is a lot cut trail shoe that is cut narrow. I run in a New Balance 9½, and that is what I ordered, but slightly wide in the heel, but I have very thin and narrow heels.

I love these boots. This is my 3rd pair of this exact Lowa boot. As we age (I'm 79), our feet change. I wore the first pair out, and though the 2nd pair is still in really, really good condition, I had to buy new as my feet have changed just enough to make them not as comfortable as I like when taking long hikes. The only minus, is that they pick up rocks, but that's no big deal. I also bought the Sole Softec Ultra for more support, balance, and a firmer fit. As I said...I'm 79, so I probably won't need to buy another pair.

Excellent boots. I've only gone hiking with them once, but I walked six miles and the boots were comfortable and kept my ankle stable. I normally take an extra wide, but these only had a wide option. They're a bit snug at the widest part of my foot. I'm sure the leather will stretch a bit and in the meantime, they were comfortable loosely tied.

I love this boot! I have a narrow foot and this one holds on and is much appreciated. I replaced the insole with my orthotics and they work beautifully. No blisters so far even on wet hikes. My one and only complaint is that their grip-ness on slippery surface is not great and I'd love for them to correct this. The fit is so good that I put up with it, but would really like to see improvement.

I thought they are going to be too narrow when I first tried them on, but they broke in immediately. They are so comfortable and they keep my feet warm and dry.
