These boots are my 2nd pair of this model. I am happy to report that the new pair is just as comfortable as my several years old, finally worn out pair and the sizing does not seem to have changed. I usually wear a 10 or 10.5 shoe, but wear an 11 in this boot to give my toes plenty of length for downhill hiking. A well made boot, requires little to no break in, I strongly recommend it. Worth the price, and Zappos service makes the whole process so easy.

I have a AA narrow foot size 7. The boots fit perfectly and true to size. They are extremely comfortable and of very good quality. I am pleased to find a company which puts so many good quality, reasonably priced shoes in narrow.

I got these boots for work (as a wetland consultant) and they are incredible. Trully water proof, good for cold weather and walking in the snow. Perfect boots, I am very satisfied.

Still too small! I'm typically a 7.5 with low-volume, but wide feet across the meta-tarsals. I've tried the 7s, now the 8s in these (one of the only boots that offer a wide size), but no luck.

These hiking boots are the absolute best hiking boot I have had in my 58 years of living. My feet are narrow and I have plenty of hardware in my feet after several surgeries. I ordered narrow. Also I have a tendency to get blisters from shoes and boots. But these -- never a single blister anywhere. These are going with me to Europe this summer!

I got these boots a couple of days before our three day, two nights hike in Redwood Canyon in the beginning of June. With about 30 pounds on my back the first day and some heavy up and downhill, I was worried to say the least, but I am so glad that I got them. They are perfect summer hiking boots for women, very light and really comfortable. I ordered a size 8N and was surprised how well they fit. No blisters whatsoever, thanks to my trick of wearing super thin nylon socks (everyone at REI rolled their eyes when I was trying on boots there; they thought I was crazy not to go for wool socks, but I know my feet!) But if you are a wool sock kind of person, make sure to order half a size bigger, because my size 8 fit just perfectly with those thin nylon socks. Anyway, my left arch started hurting really badly halfway through the first day, but it had nothing to do with the boots because the pain went away after I adjusted my backpack shoulder straps. So the boots really did the job. And they look great in dark blue and grey! The only problem I had was hitting my toes on the downhill, but I have never had boots where that was not the case, no matter how tight my laces are around the ankle, so what can I say. As is, I would recommend these boots to anyone with narrow feet who's planning easy to medium hikes. I cannot wait to use them again this summer. Thanks, Zappos, for carrying them, and for your fantastic choices, and most of all for your awesome service. I love you guys!

Wow! These boots are wonderful. I have never had a pair of walking shoes that fit my long narrow feet. I have never had any kind of athletic shoes that came close to fitting. These boots are not tight, but the narrow size is properly shaped for a thin foot. My foot does not slide forward and smash my toes. I am wearing these with heavy socks, so that probably takes up some of the width. Obviously, I ordered the narrow size. The boots are amazingly lightweight and comfortable. Right out of the box, they allow for complete flexibility of the ankle. When walking I feel like skipping, the soles are so cushy. Oh, and they are cute. My feet are very happy.

EXCELLENT boot! I wore them on a 5-hour hike the first day I got them and they were extremely comfortable. No need to break these in. I'm crazy picky about comfortable shoes and have worn these in from 20 degrees in the snow to 95 degree Alabama heat. Well worth the price.

Not quite right fit for the wide width version... The wide width might work for a C/borderline D width foot. I found the toe box to be roomy and high, but sort of oddly shaped with a slope downwards towards the outside of the foot. The laces were also very hard to tighten, especially around the ankle, it's like the tongue is too stiff. This might change with time but was a deal-breaker for me because I could not adjust the shoe to fit properly.

Pinched in the left toe, even with a wide. I don't have very wide feet, just a tad too much for certain shoes.

First bought a pair for my daughter then, after wearing hers, had to have a pair for myself. Lightweight, comfortable, perfect for hiking (in the city or country). LOVE them.

Just finished hiking the "W" circuit in Torres Del Paine (Patagonia) in these boots. I didn't have any time to "break them in" prior to the hike but they performed great. No blisters despite some pretty steep terrain. Only got a few hot spots on big toes. Feet never got wet. All in all these are great boots.

These hiking boots are winners. I bought the boots for an upcoming hiking trip, but I have worn them in the snow and they keep my feet warm and dry. There is an initial break in period where the boots are stiff, but after wearing a few times, they are very comfortable. The quality appears to be very high, justifying the price.

These boots are the bomb. I bought them about a month ago in anticipation of an upcoming trip to Ireland where I'll be hiking 10-15 miles/day. I've been wearing them regularly, both for long training walks and just to commute to work here in the Chicago winter. They are completely comfortable, warm, and water resistant. Haven't had the chance to try them in heavy rain, but they've held up well in snow. They are mid- to light-weight for a hiking boot. I bought true to size (following advice from other reviews), and they fit very well. I have wide feet, so I got the wide width, and they're perfect, even with thick/double layers of socks. I also have fairly flat feet, and prefer not to have lots of shape within the shoe - these fit the bill wonderfully for that. They're mostly flat inside. Overall, I highly recommend this for a rugged, cost-effective, yet lightweight hiking boot.

Spent a month researching boots for recent Kilimanjaro trek. Originally got some Vasques but they pinched my feet. I needed wide, fully waterproof shoes. These were it, comfy from the get go. Walked in streams that covered my entire foot, foot stayed dry. It rained all 7 days on the mountain. Towards the end, a tiny corner at the top right of my shoe seemed to have water seep into the leather (vs. repelling the water), but my foot remained totally dry. I didn't have any time to break these in on any hikes -- I just did stair workouts prior to my trip and it was fine. I had a tiny bit of rubbing on my ankle on day 5 of Kilimanjaro, which a piece of moleskin fixed.

I spent the better part of 3 months trying to find the right boots. And these were it! I am recovering from a broken heel and need good ankle support but not something so stiff I couldn't work on increasing my flexibility. My feet stay dry and warm, which is a plus here in Oregon, but they do not get overheated. The laces too are great as they don't slip and come undone as you walk. They even came with an extra set. The only recommendation I can give, is, get arch inserts. These shoes have very little arch support. Which is a good thing since all our feet are so different. You can really customize the fit this way.

My only complaint is that the stiff uppers rubbed my ankles uncomfortably. I think they would have softened up over time, but I returned them in favor of Ecco boots. That said, they offer excellent ankle support. Roomy, but not to the point of being a half-size larger; more like I would need to wear heavier socks. They stay put on my narrow heels.

These appear to be fantastic boots. I have very narrow feet, and have always hiked in narrow Vasque boots but my heels still slip. The narrow Lowas have narrower heels. However, I followed other reviewers' suggestion and ordered my shoe size rather than a half size up. I am re-ordering in a bigger size!

Nice boot, returning because I will try a smaller size. Think most would be happy with this, but problematic bunion, etc cause this to wrinkle in across top of foot when moving. Maybe 1/2 size down will solve this. Not too heavy, but sturdy and leather not too stiff.

Comfortable right out of the box! Worn these amazing boots on serious hikes, in the city and out snowshoeing, never a blister. Great support too.

After reading other reviews on this website and others, I chose the Lowa Renegade hiking boot. We are planning a trip to Patagonia and needed waterproof hiking boots. I have now had a chance to break these boots in and did not have any issues. However, I would recommend two things purchasing very good insoles. I put my custom orthotics in and have been extremely pleased. The second thing is learning different ways to lace up the boots to reduce hot spots? Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.

I've had these boots nearly a year and they have held up well. I've used them both for snowshoeing (inside overboots) and for hiking. They fit me really well. I never had blisters or rubbing. They are very rugged and have lots of ankle support. Very pleased.

Great shoe, but my toes hit the front when I push forward so I'd imagine when hiking down hill my toes will definitely be hitting the front of the shoe. I will have to return.

This is my first time trying this brand, and I am now hooked on the ultra lightweight feel, easy to non-existent break-in, and solid quality. My pair lasted nearly two years of very rough daily use, working off-trail in often ragged and wet conditions. They probably would have gone another two years no problem if I had taken care of them longer and if I did not log over 1,000 KM a year on them. The triple hooked laces kept my feet firmly in place and I never got a blister or twisted ankle while wearing these. The rubber guard in front saved me from many a stubbed toe and the rubber grip was solid in all but the most mud-bogged conditions. The breathable leather, paired with wool socks, left my feet at a comfortable temperature in a wide range of climates. My only complaints would be that the toe box starts to feel a bit pinched after a long day and the sole could be a bit more supportive for the price.
