I bought this shoe 2 years ago. I've easily hiked, jogged, or walked in this shoes well over 1200 miles. Any other shoe would have fallen apart. This is the most sturdy shoe I've ever worn, while still being extremely comfortable to wear every day. This is the shoe I put on after a long hike in my St. Elias boots. So glad I found these shoes.

I wore these shoes daily to work (in an office) as welll as around town, around the house, etc. after a few weeks, both shoes developed a tear on the outside, in the suede, just behind the plastic toe cap. I love the look and feel so much that I want to buy another pair but Im concerned they will do the same thing. You can see in the photos that the left shoe is worst than the right. I put Gorilla Tape on the inside to keep the whole closed up.

Vasquez hiking boots were the first pair of real hiking boots that I ever owned. Bought a pair when I was 16 years old and I am not going to tell you what year that was but needless to say they were the best real hiking boots that I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Since then I have searched high and low for a comparable pair both in price and quality. I don't mind spending a few dollars more if that translates to better quality. Unfortunately it doesn't. I have owned many different pairs from many different manufacturers but in the end it has come down to Vasque. In quality, performance and value for the dollar. Right now I own two pairs of the Juxt and they are almost 8 years old and still have at least another 5 years of life if not more. And they are my go to shoe, for daily wear casual as well as hiking. They are great approach shoes, sturdy, comfortable and trustworthy.
Thank you for keeping your product real and not falling victim to the least expensive outsourcing manufacturers that so many of your competitors have to there regrets.
Sincerely Brian B.

Been a Vasque customer for decades, back when they were made in Italy, I was a bit hesitant to buy the Asian made sundowners Ive grown to love from the mid 90s. I was pleasantly surprised, they still have the perfect fit out of the box as they did in years past, to be honest Ive never owned anything other than the sundowners, the juxt was the first different Vasque product Ive bought, and Im not disappointed! I may buy a second set for date night and another set for the trails!

I discovered this shoe about 10 years ago when I was living in South America, and it was the perfect shoe for both the street and dirt roads. Even now that I am back in the United States, I have continued to wear the shoe and only the shoe for almost a decade, every day. its very comfortable, especially if you have narrow feet and theres plenty of room for the custom insoles that I wear. I literally keep several pairs of these new in the boxes in my basement just in case stop making them.

Im amazed that after 3 years of daily use these shoe are still holding up and are comfortable. It is getting near the point to replace them but I can not find another pair outside of the USA.

The heels of these soles fell apart in 14 months.
These were moderately used for day hiking and the heels fell apart. As you can see the rest of the soles have minimal wear. I have been hiking for over 45 years and have had plenty of hiking shoes, these are defective. Vasque would not cover them saying this damaged was caused by either chemicals or heat, wrong in both cases. If there was chemical or heat damaged wouldn't the rest of the sole look the same?
In my experience you can only trust a hiking shoe with a Vibram sole. These are a Vasque branded sole even though the specs say they are Vibram.
Vasque never again.

I have been purchasing Juxt for a long time, I have been through 8 pair over the years.
the Fit for me is key. I've tried Merrill, and other that pinch my feet in a size 12. not the juxt.
Dealing with faciitis, i need the extra heel support provide.

they are decently comfortable out of the box, but they are also not so comfortable on longer hikes with a daypack for 8 hours. The main weakness of the Juxt is the Vibram Off-the-Grid (OTG) outsole, which lacks gripiness in mud and wet conditions. The outsole does provide good protection on rocky and rugged terrain, though. The other weakness is breathability. There suede upper provides good protection in rugged terrain, but it also doesn't breathe well in hot weather. The suede upper isn't very water repellant either. The shoes do well in dry, rugged mid-temperature climates, for shorter duration, lighweight daypack hikes. They are more comfortable with different insoles, which can up the comfort over longer duration hikes/backpacks. One complaint in reviews I've seen concerns the exposed stitching between the bicolor suede seams, which cut easily when rubbed against over time or sharp objects like rocks, but that stitching appears more for aesthetics rather than function. Vasque should have just omitted it and saved a half an ounce. I haven't suffered a split where that stitching has fraid or been cut. The stitching where it matters use either double stitching or heavier duty thread. I still like the Juxt, but it isn't the wide range of applications shoe as marketed in the features, especially when things get a little drizzly.

I bought a pair of these for my local hikes in the Santa Cruz mountains. Great traction, super comfortable and toe protection is perfect, can't even feel rock or rut strikes. Definitely buying again.

They appear to be on the narrow/short size, but fit is snug and comfortable. First couple of walks the inner toe area rubbed a bit on my toes. But this went away after the third walk/hike. Very comfortable and stylish. Grip on the soles is solid. Good arch support.

These seemed great, however, in my other Vasque's I am a solid 10.5. These I would have to go down a half size to get a good heel lock and overall fit. Otherwise, they are very much shaped to the curvature of the foot. They seem like they would hold up well!

Just moving to Nairobi and I was looking for an everyday shoe that could help me navigate muddy streets with crumbling sidewalks. I was also hoping for something a little stylish that I could wear to work. Bonus if I could take it out on a light hike. Tall order I know, and I looked all over.
I would say that these fit the bill. They look cool and they get through the streets. Two complaints:
1) I wear a wide shoe, and they only have medium width. I ordered a half size larger, and that seems to work, though I don't find them as comfortable as I'd like. Not sure if its the shoe or the size, but I wish they were more comfortable. I did buy a special insert, but that didn't do the trick. Perhaps they will break in over time.
2) they seem a to be a little warm. It's not too hot here 70's and my feet are sweating.
I looked around a lot, and I'm a slave to fashion, so I will definitely be wearing these every day and overall I happy with the purchase.

Wore on a two week journey overseas. Functioned very well on multiple services including ice and snow. Just dressy enough for evenings out.

I have had a pair for about 5 months. I really like them. I wear them as casual shoes and have not put them to the test on the trail. They are light and the fit is exactly as I would expect.

Great fit right out of the box. Not as warm as I had hoped (I got these as an every day shoe for the New England winter), but that I suppose bodes well for their use as summer hikers.

For me, these low cut shoes are great for long day hikes. My ankles need a 3/4 or full size boot for backpacking. Vasque are great for my semi-wide foot and are size to fit a sock & liner. I picked this shoe for its sole. I have 3/4 Vasque boots also with the same sole and love the way they grip when ascending and scrambling.

Reasonably stout for a light hiker. Length is fine but a bit narrow in the toe. Adequate but not great grip on loose rocks.
This is my second pair. It looks identical to the first but the fit is a little different. The old pair wore out on the soles before showing any wear at all on the uppers. Rubber toes nice in wet grass.

Fit was right on sizing. I thought the shoe was a little heavy/clunky for a light hiker, at least it is in a 14. Made on a relatively straight last, so don't count on being able to spread your toes very much if at all. The upper rides a bit too high on the ankle, which is a common problem for almost all shoes in larger shoes. The Vasque Velocity is a better light hiker, IMHO.
