I usually need a half size bigger because of my wide feet - not with these boots.
As I had read in the reviews, they are wider than most boots - almost square looking. Great fit.
The only reason I'm not giving them an overall 5 stars is that the coloring was not the same. Almost like the two boots were from a different batch or something. Disappointing, but not enough to send them back.

Had these Keen Pyrenees a few weeks. This is my latest effort to replace my beloved and no-longer-made Ecco boots from 10 years ago. These Keens are pretty close. They break in pretty quickly, fit true to size, and have a roomy toe-box. I will say that while the Bison color is reasonably good-looking, it is nowhere near as nice as the rich tanned-and-oiled leather color in the magazine adverts. The boots themselves get 2 thumbs-up, but the mag-advert pics get a FAIL for truth in advertising.

The sole is stupid. You have the shank in there, but because the tread is rounded you can't do anything. I'm edging disappointed.

I bought these because I've had Keen in the past including work boots. I just got back from a hiking trip and must say that I am disappointed. My big toes were always hitting against the shoe. I had to tape them the last few trails I hiked.

I have had a pair of these boots for 3 months and they are very comfortable. I find them difficult to lace quickly and the laces don't stay tight or tied well. The tongue is quite bulky. I am a forester and walk all terrain in the woods everyday wet and dry. The soles are softer than they should be for what I am using them for. I broke off one of the lace hooks the other day while lacing them up. These boots would be wonderful for light hiking or everyday casual wear around the yard but don't seem to be tough enough for what I am asking of a pair of boots. I wouldn't recommend these to anyone looking to do serious hiking, these have fallen seriously short of my expectations.

Would not recommend. Sole of shoe started to come unglued after two weeks. Insole stains the bottom of socks. Poor quality.

I purchased this product based on customer reviews and was terribly disappointed! A logger in Seattle had suggested them. I am a landscaper in New England; they failed in every aspect they could. The Keen membrane, their version of Gor-Tex, failed within two months. The soles were the next to go. If you are going to work every day in these boots and rely on having dry feet, do not buy this style!

Junk! I owned these boots for 3 months before the first lace hook broke off, the toe cap glue started to let go, and lug near the ball of my foot ripped off. Still wearable then the collar area wore a hole inside the boot causing it to collapse the inner liner every time I put these boots on. They are waterproof though, and at one point were real comfortable for about a month. All in all junk, poor made boot, don't waste the money. Zappos fully stands behind the product though and was more than willing and helpful in rectifying the situation, Zappos wins! Keen losers!

Looks like a comfortable boot; wide toe box like two other Keen shoes I own, but like another reviewer said, I could not get my foot in because of the waterproofed tongue - same with me also.
Even if I could have got it on over my instep, it would have been too much work to go though.

My third pair of Keen boots over several years and these seem to be just as good as the first two pairs I wore until they were worn out. Comfortable and durable

Though we bought size 11 two years ago and have worn them out, the size 11 we just received is too large.

Fantastic value for an all leather, classic style hiking boot. I have huge size 17 feet and normally need a wide shoe. Keen specializes in wide toe boxes, bless them, so the medium width was fine. I added my own custom orthotics and that made them perfect. I wish they had replaceable Vibram soles, but that's no deal-breaker. The Syrup color is beautiful. I bought two pair, because companies usually discontinue anything I like as soon as I find it.

I work outdoors doing habitat restoration, often on very rough and steep terrain. These are the best work boots for this type of work that I have ever owned. Ordered 2 pairs just so I can have 1 in reserve.

Perfect fit, warm but not too warm. I use it as a fall-winter-spring city boot, with some light hiking. I live in the northeast us. Durable and good looking.

Mystery solved: Keens mobile/smartphone website states, under description: "Fit Tip: We find this style runs about a 1/2 size small." I'm typically size 11 on all shoes, including Keen. I ordered a size 11 from Zappos but I was surprised to see how narrow/tight the Pyrenees felt on my toes. I returned the pair and was disappointed as I had not had any luck finding the exact feel for a hiking and hunting boot I wanted. After I read Keen's website "Fit Tip" I re-ordered the pair from Zappos (and used my credit) in a size 11.5 and I was once again delighted with a Keen boot (I had been looking for a discontinued model and pretty much wore out the tread to where I had no traction on that older model). FYI: I wear mostly Keen for just about anything, leisure, casual, etc. If they made running and racing cycling shoes I'd buy them anytime (what sense does it make to cramp ones toes in a narrow toe cycling or running shoe for long miles or many hours?).

In a nutshell I absolute;y love these boots. They are very lightweight. They took me a day of wearing them before they broke in. The tongue is sewn to the shell and does not lay flat to your foot and the bulk causes rubbing. However, that quickly remedied itself and is now not a problem. The wicking material is extremely helpful since my feet tend to sweat a lot. They pull the moisture away from your foot. I have a problem of my boots beginning to smell but they air dry very fast. The sole has great traction good cushion. You will not be disappointed! I just love Keens and I have a couple of pairs and these just make me happy I found boots that were more manly of a style. I am a woman and tend to buy men's shoes. But they are not unflattering.

The Pyrenees offer good support and protection and will offer minor insulation if you happen to be outdoors frequently. I've actually just switched to the Pyrennes from my usual work boots. They look cool and feel great.

If you already own a pair of Keens, then you know how good these things are. I have an old pair of Austins and a new pair of Finlays, but I never tried Keens' boots before. I am glad that I gave these a try. They are seriously fantastic. No other boots compare to how comfortable Keens are, as well as how sturdy and durable they are. The fit is perfect. The bison color is not exactly as pictured. Mine are like a cross between brown and dark green, but I dig them. The fact is, I would wear them no matter the color because Keens are just that comfortable. So if you do own a pair already and want to try their boots, go for it. You know what you are in for. For those of you trying Keens for the first time, the Pyrenees will not disappoint. Expect greatness!

These Keen Pyrenees are perfect. As with all Keen products, they are comfortable right out of the box. They appear to be warm, even though they are not insulated. They are comfortable in the field as well as on the street.

Absolutely love these boots. I'm a trim carpenter who feels most comfortable in tennis shoes, but these are amazing. I can't believe how light they are! My first pair of Keen shoes, and I couldn't be more impressed!

I was gifted these for Christmas and 3 weeks later, I love them. They did require a break-in period of a week or two but they proved to be very comfortable and the traction is fantastic. So far, I am really happy with these and have had a few people ask me about them while I'm out wearing.
