Nice boots. But they were too large around ankles and a bit snug in the calves. Too much money to not love all of them.

I read the reviews for this boot and I ordered a half size down which I'm glad I did because the boots definitely run small. I would say a 1/2 to full size smaller than average. I gave the boot 3 stars overall b/c while I love this boot I cannot reiterate enough how impossible it is to get it on. It does stretch and get easier with time but it is truly no small feat getting these boots on. I just refuse to give up!

Uhm, I was on the fence about these boots, because I was not sure if I wanted to "break them in." They are difficult to put on. However, as I was walking around the room, I slipped on the quite slippery sole. The boots were returned because they are too expensive to have the headache of breaking them in and worrying about falling. I wonder why Frye did not think about the hassle of the slippery sole.

There was NO tread on the soles of this boots. I was so sad! They were slippery on the carpet in my bedroom, I can't imagine how slippery they would be out in the world. Otherwise they are lovely.

Love the look of these boots. Unfortunately, I couldn't even fit my foot into the pair to try on! Without a zipper, the heel is to narrow to insert one's foot. Back they go..

Beautiful boots but I couldn’t get my foot in. I wear a size 6 1/2-7 and I couldn’t get my foot into the size 7 boot. I’m not really sure how many sizes larger I need to go up in order for these to fit. I’m sad I have to return them.

This boot is very tight..I wear 5.5 but I could not get my foot all the way down.Tried both left and right boot and neither were large enough. Perhaps where it was made - not U.S. - makes the difference. I cannot judge whether these were true to width nor can I judge sufficiency of arch support.

SO bummed :/ These boots look and feel great, but the sole has absolutely no traction whatsoever in the front or heel. SUPER slippery. I couldn't even walk around my house without feeling like I might slip and fall. I don't usually bother writing reviews, but thought this info might be helpful to some of you.

I’ve wanted these boots for a while and finally decided to spend the money on them. Super cute, but terribly uncomfortable!! First, the are super hard to get on, these are pull on boots. Second, they rub my heels and my small toes causing blisters. I wish i could return and try a different pair, but they have clearly been worn. These should be comfortable for the price. I have a feeling I won’t wear these much.

I am a little disappointed in my boots. I have had these for about a year and a half and the soles have worn through and I wish I had sized up on the boots.

Very disappointed from my order. My boots arrived packaged in a plain brown box(not Frye) so I am wondering if they are legit. In addition, it is clear that these boots have been worn. Not happy and probably will return them.

I gave this 2 stars overall because I returned the boots due to the fact that I was sent boots that had already been worn and I was expecting new boots. The boots I received weren't packaged properly and seemed to have been just thrown in the box after someone wore them. These boots come with some wrinkling and distressing, which is by design and it would have looked great if both of the boots had received even a similar style of distressing. It was so obvious that these boots were distressed differently that they looked like they were different styles of boots. I originally ordered size 8 1/2 and I normally wear between an 8 and 8 1/2, but even with big thick socks on, the 8 1/2 boots were too big, so I had returned them. I reordered the boots in a size 8. These were the boots that were previously worn and packaged incorrectly. These boots fit great, they still fit my calves and thick socks were great in them.

I own several Frye boots and love the simplicity of a pull on boot. I wanted to love these, but every time I tried them on, they looked like fireman's boots. Bulky, not flattering, not tapered. Maybe just too tall for a pull on to work.

I love Frye boots so it pains me to write this review. I received these boots from my husband for Christmas. I immediately tried them on, starting with the right foot. The boot was my size, but I could not get my foot in. No matter what I tried. But the left boot went on smooth as a glove with a little bit of room to spare. The more I fiddled with the right boot, I realized there was something wrong with the heel it kept collapsing in. It was not a matter of size as there was something fundamentally wrong with the boot heel. As usual, Zappos had another pair in the mail right away. This time, same size mind you, the heel was fine but the boots were so wide it was like I was wearing a different size altogether. You do not want to start out roomy with leather because it will stretch as did my other Fryes (went from tight to perfect fit and they are my favorite boots. Ever.). But they were the same exact size, and certainly not marked as wide. I even put on a thick pair of socks but my heels kept sliding up halfway up the boots when I walked. I am in the process of now sending these back, and as much as these boots are gorgeous (and they really are), they are going back for good. Broken heel aside, not sure how the first set of boots can fit vastly different from the second when they are supposed to be the same exact size? They are beautiful, but I do not have time to be the Goldilocks of boots.

Whoa, are these ever too narrow in the shaft! And very surprising how small they run overall. C'mon, Frye, I expect more accurate sizing out of a premium brand like you. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 as a nod to the quality of the leather & construction.
