Overall, I agree with many other reviewers comments. The shoe is beautiful and I can tell it will last a very long time. I have small, narrow feet in general and have never had a problem with shoes, but did find that this one started rubbing the outsides of my feet a bit - without thin socks on. Other than that, I'm really happy with the shoe!

Love these boots! They look great. Fit is true to size. Extremely comfortable, and I walk a lot! Zappos shipping was quick and well packed!

I wear between an 8 and an 8.5 and I went with the 8. Perfect fit. The boots are extremely comfortable and are easy to get on and off. I went with the black since I couldn't figure out online which brown I liked the best. Too many options! If I saw the brown in person I would purchase another pair and get brown.

I'm crazy about these boots. They are cute and practical for (trail) riding. They have something of a western look, but are still stylish. Pull-on boots will never have as sleek a profile as those with zippers, gore, etc. since the ankle area needs to be wider to allow your foot through. I got the "dark brown washed antique" color and the leather is really nice and thick, but comfy and soft. It is very authentic and classic looking leather, and smells great too! I normally wear an 8 and I ordered both a 7.5 and 8 just in case. I kept the 8. The 7.5 was definitely too small (noticed mostly in the width). The 8's felt a little loose at first, but I think I was just too accustomed to wearing lace-up type shoes. I've been wearing these every day and they are comfortable and the craftsmanship seems to be really top-notch (only time will tell).

These are great boots that are very comfortable. They are a little hard to put on but once on they fit perfectly. I usually wear an 8 or 8½ and had to go with the 8½ on these.

This is not my first pair of Fryes and these are as wonderful as the rest! They are comfortable after a break in period. The Melissas have such a classic look.

Ahh. Just what I expected - beautiful, comfortable, and high quality. I'd looked everywhere online for a red-brown color like Bordeaux, and just couldn't find anything close. Out of the box, the boots were perfect. My feet slipped right in, and I had no problems getting them back off. I'm petite, 5'0, and have fairly thin legs. The boots hit about an inch under my knees and they don't gap too much around my calves. Perfect! The only thing is, I'm not sure how anyone with larger calves would wear them. If you're on the fence, buy these boots! If you've got the money, they're worth it!

I love the looks of these, but they are huge in the calf! I seriously had to double check that I didn't order the extended calf boot.

Hemmed and hawed about getting these boots for years. I'm not a cheapskate by any stretch of the imagination, but I've never spent this much for a pair of boots, just not my thing. Finally bit the bullet and placed the order. But what size should I order? Most on here say they run true to size, but some said half size big. Ack! I'm a solid 9 (do not own anything other than a size 9) so I ordered a 9. Too big all around. Ordered the 8.5 to compare. One boot fit like a glove, the other one was pretty tight over the top of my foot. What to do? Googled "do Frye boots stretch." Consensus was no. So undecided. Wore the 8.5s all day in the house and they got more comfortable. Finally ventured outside today and walked around all day long...and they are perfect. So moral of the story, on some they do run a 1/2 size large and if they are a bit tight they will soften up a bit. Also, they seem a bit narrow. I have pretty narrow feet and rarely do I find a shoe or boot that fits tightly on me like these did.

Great boots and great service from Zappos. There was a minor issue with the boots and Zappos went above and beyond to make sure it was right. The boots themselves are great quality and great looks.

Awesome boots. They slip over my calves neatly with the loops, and they fit like a dream right away. I have wide-ish feet, either 8 wide or 8.5 regular in shoes. I often take a size 9 in boots but these 8.5 regulars were sized just right for me. The finish was just a little shinier than I expected, but it'll hold up better than a more matte finish would have. I plan to wear these for decades.

Ordered these as a gift for my niece and to say the least, it was the perfect one! It was the hit of Christmas! Perfection. If you are looking for the perfect boot, then look no further. Everyone will notice!

I love these boots. They look amazing and feel amazing. I am on the verge of buying a second pair because I think they are timeless. They are simple and classic. I do not wear or even need to wear socks with these boots!

My husband got me these for Christmas. I about died. I feel like they are a bit pricey but it's the thought that counts right? :) I always wear a 9 and I couldn't get them on. Like COULD NOT GET THEM ON. Then I read a review about putting a plastic sack on your feet. Slipped right on. Thank you to whomever put that! Wearing them around a bit to break them in and totally love them. Have athletic calves and they fit perfectly. Is it bad that I am already contemplating my next pair?

Amazing boots...worth the money. I'm a boot snob and have tried on so many different pairs and styles. Trust me, these boots in Cognac are amazing! Run true to size. Break in after about 4 wears. So comfortable! Enjoy!

These boots are very comfortable. They are a classic style and will last for years to come. I love them so much, that I purchased another color. The leather is soft. It fits true to size. I normally wear an 8.5 in boots, and the 8.5 was perfect!!!

I have been drooling over these boots for several years now. Finally broke down and ordered a pair and am so sad to have to return them. It has nothing to do with the boot. They are as beautiful and well crafted as I expected. Excellent quality boot! Unfortunately because I am short, these gorgeous boots hit me right at the knee and look very awkward on me. As much as I love them, I have to return them.
