Beautiful boot! I have the Melissa button in 3 colors (Black, Slate Washed Antique, Cognac Washed Antique) and they are by far the cutest boots I've ever owned. They are sort of stiff at first but after about 2 days of wear the leather loosens and they are more comfy! Love them! My next pair will be the Ice Washed Antique! Can't wait!

Great boots. Nice and soft. Hard to pull on the first few times so I needed to put a plastic bag over my foot and then pull it out once the boot was on. The leather smells so good! I have narrow feet and I think the width of these seems small at first. I'm not sure how they'll be after more wears.

I didn't expect anything less. This is my third pair of Fryes, all are true to size and made with such amazing quality. This is my first pair of pull on boots, but that turned out to be a non issue, as they easily slide over leggings and jeans. If you want a pair of simple, black, high quality boots, these are the pair for you!

I love these boots! I wanted black boots that were *not* distressed but it was hard to tell which black color to order based on the pictures. After reading some other reviews, I settled on ordering the "soft vintage black" and they are exactly what I wanted. They have a very clean look and are super comfortable. As other reviewers have said, it can initially be hard to squeeze your feet into the boots. But over time the leather will stretch and soften and it won't be such a struggle (I know this from owning other Frye boots), so don't let that discourage you when you first try them on. As long as they feel good when they're on, then you're good to go!

Bought these in cognac! Fits TTS. The shaft fits pretty good for skinnier legs. the ankle and foot aren't narrow enough for me, but I still love these boots. I've had them for 4 years and they've held up great!

I can only comment on the overall look and style of this boot: stunning, gorgeous, simple, unbelievably gorgeous. I wish, WISH, OH HOW I WISH, I could've gotten them on my foot. The opening is so incredibly narrow and even if I did manage to get it on, I can't go through this each time I want to wear them. Frye - a zipper would've been better than nice.

I have problems with my feet so it's hard for me to find shoes/boots that fit comfortably. These boots were great right out of the box and I loved the style. Soles were very slippery so I scuffed up the bottom a little and they were fine. I tend to keep favorite shoes for a long time and I think these boots will hold up very well for years and the style won't be dated. Definitely recommend.

I normally have issues with getting a boot shaft around my calves. The fact I was able to get these *on* was a miracle in of itself.
They are starting to stretch, after a few wears, and are becoming comfortable in girth. The sole is comfortable and feels like great quality.
The coloring (I purchased the antique brown wash) is gorgeous. These boots are raking in the compliments.
Worth every penny.

I love the quality of Frye boots, and the leather smells amazing! They're a little snug around my calves but have stretched out fairly quickly. I only wish the shaft was a bit taller.

I've been looking at these boots for a couple of years, holding back because of the price. Well, they are worth every penny! I can see me wearing these for many years to come.....they are so well made, their look is timeless, and they go with so much in my closet! They seem to run smaller in the calf than most boots but I like the sleeker look. They do offer wide calf in the Melissa boots and others if you need it.

These are super cute and comfortable. They are a bit of work to get on and off, but what can you expect from a riding boot. The quality is really good, which makes me happy. I do not have big calves, but I am no size zero and I was able to wear these over skinny jeans with no problem, they were snug but not uncomfortable.

I almost did not buy these, as it was stated they were true to size, but also "snug". I wear an 8.5 or 9 in Frye boots, so was skeptical. I ordered the 8.5, as there were no 9's available. It took some hard work, sweat, and a shoe horn to get my feet in these boots. I kept them on a few minutes, then removed them. I dampened a pair of thin socks and put them on, as well as the boots. It has been about an hour, and they are perfectly molded to my feet...very comfortable. These are such high quality, and I adore them in red. I may buy another color down the road. Love the Frye quality!!!!!

I've read all the reviews&I've read to get a half size to one size smaller than normal, but I've also read that it fits true to size. In kids shoes I wear around a 4.5 to a 5. In women's general I'm a 6 With those sizing, would you guys be able to guide me in a size to get? I'm a 5ft girl and I've read both good and bad reviews from 5'1&5'3 girls

Thanks to Zappo's, I have tried on a number of different styles of Frye boots, and the Melissa Button style is the one that I felt fit me best and worked best with my wardrobe. I have somewhat wider feet in the front, so a slightly wider toe box is something I usually look for in a shoe. Since the Melissa boot has an almond-shaped toe, it works well for me. Of course the leather, color, and quality of the boot are what always attract me to the Frye brand to begin with. I believe they are worth the price - I have an older pair of Frye boots that are at least 10 years old and I've worn them a lot - and they're still in good shape. I expect the Melissa Button will give me the same experience. Thank you, Zappos's, for your great customer service!

I have few pairs of fry boots. The Melissa is a bit hard to get in at first. I read if you have difficulty, use at plastic bag and slide your foot and pin pointing it back and d forth and it slowly slides in perfectly. They are a bit hard at first. They stretch and soften on the angle. You won't need a bag anymore after few uses. They are elegant, go with everything g in my closet. They don't look like your average boot. They seem fine and superb quality leather. They are a bit slippery so be careful on some carpets and icy parking lots. I read they can get resoled at a cobblers. Haven't done mine but considering it because I want them to last me a long time. They are a bit tricky in so many ways but I wouldn't want it any other way. I'm a boot kinda lady and this one's are by far my most absolutely favorite of them all.

I bought these in dark brown a few weeks ago and they are so beautiful and comfy! They seem to run just a little bit large- I usually wear a 7.5 but they were too large when I tried them on. I bought them in size 7 and they fit perfectly. Love love love!
