Really beautiful boots that lived up to the picture. The foot design is a little longer and narrower than I usually am comfortable with, but I was able to wear them all day the first day without any trouble. I suspect the boot will conform to my own foot shape over time. As others have said, they are challenging to put on, but I would expect this from this tall a boot that does not (and shouldn't!) include a zipper. I just grab hold of the cuff to get leverage when pulling them on. The leather is pliable enough to make this work. A classy, well-constructed boot.

I have had these boots in slate for over 3 year and am as happy, if not more, with them now as I've ever been. They have gotten even more comfortable over time and I have never had any problems getting them on. Getting them off, however, can be a bit of a challenge when drunk and stumbling, but that's what the hubby is for. I am 5'4" and uncuffed, the boots come up to mid-knee. Cuffed, they look like pirate boots. The leather still looks fabulous after 3.5 yrs (as do all my Frye boots) and I am now considering them in black. They look great with skinny jeans, dresses, and skirts. Buy them!

These really are the perfect boots. I have had mine for a little over a year, and I get so many compliments and inquiries about them each time I wear them. I actually have two pairs -- taupe and slate and they are that great. Online those colors look rather similar, but the slate is actually darker than shown and more gray. I wear them with the cuff up ... otherwise they look a bit pirate-y. I am 5'7" and they hit just below my kneecap. They are very comfortable. I can wear a 7.5 or an 8 and went with the size 8, which fits fine although I probably could have also worn a 7.5 without a problem. They look good with skirts/dresses as well as with skinny jeans. You will love them!

I love this boots so much I ended up bought 3 different colors as well. I bought black color 3 years ago which still look like new, and more other colors later. You will get your money's worth...no lying - Frye brand is the best quality leather.

Hands down a super comfortable boot. I pull the flap up. The boot looks "piratey" otherwise. Very cute. I highly recommend. Also i wear a size 12 in a flat shoe and these boots fit great in an 11. Yay! For us girl with large feet this is a dream come true.

Awesome boot! Beautiful color and quality! Leather is thick so it doesn't slouch down and wrinkle. Love them and get so many compliments! Tall women can wear the "fold over" straight up so they come right to the bottom of the knee for a great look.

These boots are everything I could have hoped for. Love at first sight and first try on. amazing soft leather, absolutely beautiful and super comfortable. My first pair did come with white powder all over them, but Zappos was awesome as always and sent me another pair that came the next day. The powder was left over from the factory and I could have wiped it off with a clean cloth- but I opted for a new pair. You will not be disappointed with this boot. Frye's are worth every cent.

I love these boots! In fact, I'm wearing them right now. They are everything you would expect from Frye: high quality leather, a good, solid stacked heel, attractive, all-American styling, and a sole that is stitched, not glued, to the upper. I highly recommend these boots.

This is my first pair of Frye boots and I am completely satisfied with my purchase. The quality is outstanding. I have the plain black (not pebbled) leather, which is a beautiful, smooth finish that I think lends to a versatile look of dressing down with jeans or dressing up with nice skirts or short dresses and tights. They have a subtle western flair yet elegant. I wear a size 8 in dress shoes and 8½ in sneakers. My feet are medium with, just slightly on the narrow side with high arches. I went with the size 8 in these boots and the fit is perfect. Out of the box, both feet went into and came out of the boots pretty easily. Little pushing or tugging. I used thin to medium thickness socks. There is slight heel slippage but the amount to expect. I am just shy of 5' 8" tall. Cuffed, the boots come about an inch below my knee and uncuffed, about mid-knee. I just wore them all day, with slim jeans tucked in, and they are very comfortable and easy to walk in. I feel like these boots were made for me!

Love, love, love these boots! I waited a while before finding the perfect Frye boots that were for me, and I'm so glad I held out for these! I was torn between these, and another similar pair, but am happy with my choice. They are so comfortable, and I am walking around and on my feet all day long! I plan on getting the same boots in brown/caramel in the near future!

I love these boots! These are my second pair of Jane tall cuff boots. I bought them in black a couple years ago and still get compliments. The color of the burnished slate leather is gorgeous. It's a cross between grey and tan which makes them a perfect neutral. I agonized about which color to get and would recommend the slate. I have big calves 16" and fit in these perfectly. They have a slight slouch in the ankle area which might be too much for someone with thin calves. As others have said, they do take some breaking in but stick with it - it's worth it. Highly recommend!

A great western style knee high boot. Can fold over to hit at shin, but like knee high since am tall. Very comfortable. Frye always seams to run a size too big. Wear day or evening casual.

I am almost 60 years old, 5'4", 103 lbs, and very fit. I first saw the Jane Tall Cuff boots in a shop in Telluride, Colorado -- and ended up buying them from Zappos. I got them in the burnished brown, which is much lighter than they appear online. The leather actually looks just like distressed bomber jacket brown, which is a great look for what I was after. As said by other reviewers, the boots come dusted with a powder, which I removed with a damp cloth and a little elbow grease. Also, I've learned through experience that Frye boots run large. My normal shoe size is 7 to 7 & 1/2, but in Frye, I'm a 6 & 1/2. All in all, I love the boots, as they fit well, are comfortable, sturdy and very versatile -- and a perfect look for cold weather dressing in Colorado. I plan to wear them cuff up -- which hits mid knee on me -- and pair them with knee length dresses, leggings, and skinny jeans.

Worth every penny! These are the best thing I added to my wardrobe. They are not quite over the knee (I'm 5f7in)- they hit just over the bottom curve of my knee. They are fitted but not skin tight, and when uncuffed (which I prefer) there is plenty of room to go over skinny jeans. I got the BLACK and the heel is slightly brownish, which gives them a casual look. Having said that, they are are long & sexy, and the bit of heel makes any skinny jean or legging look slightly dressier than usual. They fit true to size, so don't be discouraged if it takes a couple times to get them on. They stretch after a few wears.

I love these boots! They are gorgeous and so comfortable right out of the box. I've only worn them once so far, but I received tons of compliments on them from both men and women.

Absolutely beautiful boot! Unfortunately, I need to return them as the boot is too uncomfortably snug around my calves (I have unusually large calves). You will love these boots. Great quality leather.

I can't find the perfect man, but I found the perfect boot. Fits well, looks wicked, I'm in love (with the boots). These boots are great with short skirts, jeans, leggings.

I ordered these in a size 9.5 in the black full grain. They really looked quite stunning in the box. They were quite easy to pull on over tights, my foot slid right in and there was plenty of room the the calf for skinny jeans. The leather is rich, soft and supple, and the style is great. There was a flaw that was a returnable offense in my opinion. The leather near the top of the boot on the right one was bonded together poorly. There was a ridge of lumpy leather that was visible if they were un-cuffed, which is how I would have planned on wearing them. Someone else obviously thought the same thing, as they were quite scuffed up on the bottom. I would have asked for a replacement pair, but they weren't quit right for me. The heel was too narrow, and the boot felt unstable. I need to be able to stand comfortably at work, and these did not give me a solid footing.

Beautiful boot that has a heel too wide for my very skinny feet. They width throughout the rest of the foot & toe is perfect for those with a slightly narrow foot. I wish the heel followed suit. A shame to return!

I tried the black pebble leather in size 10. This shoe felt larger than a 10 and was wide in the heel. The leather was pretty, but if you want to wear the boot folded down like the picture, the leather flap is smooth and looks odd against the pebbled leather boot shaft. I didn't love the look of this boot, as it was baggy at the ankle. I would like to try another Frye boot, as the quality of craftsmanship is impressive.

Great boots, very comfortable! Weren't really over the knee but I'm also 5'7" but they are about mid knee for me which I'm okay with.

This is the boot I ended up keeping. I had tried: Melissa button, Carson pull-on, Veronica Slouch. Didn't want too much of a cowboy boot and yet wanted a sharp looking, casual boot: The rough texture of the leather is what I was looking for (didn't want fancy) Love the look of the Jane Tall Cuff, lots of compliments. Comfortable, the 8 fit my 7 1/2-8 foot. Nice heel and footbed. The first time I decided to keep the boots and wear them out, the balls of my feet began aching (due to the heel?) after a few hours. Sometimes I think I should have kept the Veronica Slouch for an all day long comfort. I may have to purchase something to put inside the footbed. Maybe breaking them in more will help?

I wanted a pair of high knee boots, and these are my first pair. The color is a nice, greyish-brown that complements jeans, dress pants or short skirts. They are so nice that I prefer to wear them with a short skirt or dress so that I can show the shoes off. What I also like is that the leather is stiff enough that it doesn't slide down your calves, as some tall, slouchy boots have a habit of doing.

Shoe is absolutely beautiful and well crafted. The only issue is trying to get them off - my foot slid in perfectly, but I had to sit down and tug to get them off. The leather is very stiff and should soften with wear. Order one size down as these do run large.

Boots were very cute, not too high, great selection of clors and quality leather. however the boots run very large. And since 5.5 is as low as they go in size, i reufully had to return.
