No exaggeration: these are the most delightfully comfy shoes I've ever worn. I ordered the black with the patent leather trim and just ordered the polar blue. The 2 layers of stitching and dual colors are very pretty. On one hand I hate to let Naot know that the price of these is acceptable because let's face it: they're pricey as heck. But in all candor, they are worth it if you can afford it. I actually LOOK FORWARD to walking when I have these on. A 10 hour day is a cinch.As I walk I'm conscious of my 59 year old feet being in a soft, supportive cloud of cushy comfort. When I do choose a different pair for work, I pack the other pair in a tote bag and wear these Naots for the commute and walk into the office. I find I'm taking detours and walking up hills of grass with confidence rather than always taking the sidewalk. Feet are held securely and there's no slipping or rolling. Have I received compliments? No. They're not stylish, these are practical, thus only 3 stars for style. The left pinkie toe was rubbing the first 3 times I wore them... Needed a bandaid, but after that the shoes are perfect with no rubs.These will be great walking through Europe. Designers: Would love to see a turquoise/aqua option.

Someone suggested ordering down a size in these shoes, but for me that was a mistake. I'm contemplating ordering my correct size to see how they fit, because let me tell you, the footbed of this shoe is h-e-a-v-e-n! I also bought a pair of Merrells (Duskair Maui) which are cute and comfy (not as cushy as this shoe, however) and less expensive, so I've got to figure out what to do here. I ordered the vintage gray/pewter color - looks exactly as pictured, but I'm not sure how much I like the colors in real life. I know I'll be doing a lot of walking in Europe, so I want to be sure I have a very comfortable shoe... and I don't want to wear sneakers.

I am in LOVE with the Kirei by Naot. These shoes are beyond comfortable while also being stylish. I have tried to find other brown mary-jane style closed toed shoes to wear to work that are both (comfortable and stylish) and struggled. I has some Clarks that came close, and some Alegria that totally missed the mark. I have a couple of pair of Dankos that I also love, but wanted something more for warmer weather than didn't look so clunky. I was hesitant about paying the price on these, but they are awesome! Right out of the box, they fit like a dream and could be worn all day. I have "normal width" feet, but with a bunion on one side, and these shoes fit without rubbing or irritating it. I highly recommend Kirei by Naot!

I ordered two pairs of Kirei shoes - the black leather combo and the metal. There were significant differences in quality of leather and detailing. The black leather combo is a newer color. The strap was thinner, leather very lightweight. The black leather in the main part of the shoe was softer and felt thinner also. My experience is that Naot shoes with thinner and softer leather stretch out and lose their shape in the first months of wear. The metal color shoes are an older color and were of a better quality leather, good instep strap, and felt like a quality shoe. They are cute shoes, with the color more versatile than expected. I have a low volume foot and narrow heel, usual US size 8.5, ordered a 40(9); Kirei 39 is too small, 40 is OK, no socks, summer and shoulder season wear only. I have worn Naots for many years. but in the past three years have returned more shoes for manufacturing defects and quality issues.

I've worn this shoe for many years because they relieve my foot pain and can handle airports, museums, amusement parks...days of being on my feet. They are perfectly padded and arched and the innersole can be replaced by Naot or you can use orthodics. They seem to be indestructible except for the suede. (Apply water repellent.) I've replaced the black ones only because the suede looked worn. Only negative comment is that the Velcro catches thread and other small debris. Also, they look slightly clunky but not more that any other comfortable walking shoe. The lighter colors are not as appealing as the dark ones, especially the black. They can be worn with any casual outfit including shirts and dresses and look good with opaque tights.

Cute shoe. I can tell they'd be comfortable but the W width did not fit my hobbit feet. I wish I could have broken them in but the leather edging was too stiff to even try.

A beautiful shoe, but runs smaller than other brands.

I usually wear a 12 or 13 and found the 43 to be way too small. The shoe is really cute so I'm sad it didn't fit and had to be returned. The color I ordered polar sea blue velvet navy suede is a rich dark blue, almost black.

Very comfortable. I stand 8-10 hours a day at work and my feet never hurt when i wear these shoes.

I've had these shoes for over 9 months. I bought and returned several other pairs before finding these treasures. They are literally the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I always take them when I travel. I've walked miles and miles in foreign cities over rough, unstable roads and felt fortunate to be wearing these wonderful shoes. I highly recommend them.

I think I may have tried on almost every mary jane shoe that Zappos sells. None can compare to this mary jane by Naot. It has a perfect insole and you can even buy replacements for them. My original pair is still going strong after two years of being worn every day, it's the perfect shoe for people like me with arthritis in their feet. Thanks Naot, Thanks Zappos

I stand at work for 8 hours-never sit down. The 1st day I wore these shoes I was amazed. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had.

I returned these shoes even though they very comfortable and nice-looking. I decided they looked a bit too much like another pair of Naot Mary Janes that I have. I also am a little tired of the Mary Jane strap. I bought a pair of Naots that have a diagonal strap and still have that wonderful Naot fit and support. I rated these high because they are nice shoes, and I very much liked the grey color.

I don't know what it is about these shoes besides the fact that my feet are so happy when I put them on!! I have literally owned 10 pairs of this exact model and they never fail. They may not exactly be fashion forward but who cares if I can walk around with no plantar fasciitis pain?

I love these shoes! I wore them without any break in time. I had no rubbing or blisters on my foot. I have plantar fasciitis and didn't have any discomfort. Highly recommended!

These comfy Mary Janes are perfect for a casual day at the office and for walking. Great arch support, cushioning, you can even replace with your own arch support. In a flat, I need the strap for support - so although they aren't as "cute" as a ballerina flat, they aren't as casual as an athletic shoe. I just consider my look a little more "funky" and perfect for my reality. Love these.

Similar in style and feel to Naot Matai, which I already own. True to size (I'm an 8 M; purchased size 39). Handsome shoe; comfortable. Returning because I can't justify owning two very similar pairs of shoes ...

These shoes are so very comfortable! I wear anywhere from a 6.5 (in ballet flats) to a 7.5 (in athletic shoes), and the 38 fits perfectly. I took the advice of another reviewer and added a no-show sock to the footbed (take the footbed out and place the sock over the footbed. Put it back in so your foot rests on the sock rather than directly on the footbed). It definitely adds to the comfort for going barefoot. They are not as clunky as I feared, though certainly not super stylish. That said, they are neutral enough that I wear them constantly. My foot is wide in the toes, but not in the heal, and the medium width was perfect.

One of few WIDE designs in Naot. Naot has the best footbed with high arch support and cork cushioning. High quality construction and innovative designs. But even in this width, the toe box was too pointed for my wide "duck" toes. No better in a larger size. The shoes would be great for standing at work all day or walking. Sorry to return them.

I am a Naot addict and I am not looking for a cure.

I have always liked Naot shoes, but until now, i had only tried their sandals. But from the second i put these Kirei on, they felt great! There was no breaking in time needed. I do almost wish they did not have the strap across the foot though. I know that helps keep them on snuggly, but I do think I am past the "mary jane" look, and prefer the open style.

Finally a shoe that is comfortable for me! I can't count how many different brands and styles (within brands) I have tried. I have an old ankle injury that has caused my foot to be very cranky. I also need the strap to hold it onto my foot. These shoes check all the boxes and give great toe space. I have a narrowish foot but can't stand a lot of pressure on my toes (that might be age)? I'm sure I'll purchase more than one pair. I say try them!

As advised I ordered a size up. They fit and feel great. Love this shoe. It gets an A+
