I have two other pairs of Ariats (dress cowboy boot and leather mule), so I ordered my usual size 7½. These mules were much narrower and shorter than my other Ariats. I may have kept them if they had a leather lining and I thought they would stretch. They have a manmade lining (which I did not get from the item description), so I did not think that they would stretch. Plus, I am not a fan of manmade linings. I had to return them.

I have bought this style in a store and was very satisfied. The ones ordered on line were a centimeter narrower then the store bought ones. I returned them and ordered the next size. Hope that one fits better.

Cute boot-like shoe. They seemed really comfortable, except that they was too narrow for me. I was sad to send them back.

I ordered this mule in black because I already have the same shoe in the distressed brown color (called timber). Both shoes are an 8M. The brown shoe is marked 8M with an equivalent Euro size of 39; but the black shoe, also marked 8M, says it's Euro size is 38.5. I don't know why this difference exists except that possibly the brown mule is an older model, since I've had it for several months. The brown mule is ultra comfortable; this black mule not quite so much because it has a slightly different fit. The black fits a bit wider and looser than the brown. It is still correct in length; it's just a looser mule. The backstraps on the black are also looser so I need to insert a thin insole in the black to get them to fit as snugly as the brown. Also the distressed leather on the brown is quite thick; the black leather seems thinner, less substantial, and the backstraps are not as heavy. I'm hoping the straps do not stretch out too much on the black. I wear the brown pair without the backstrap because of the slimmer fit, but I'll probably have to use the straps on the black pair to keep the shoe on my foot. I wear both pairs with a medium weight sock because this is a fall/winter shoe for me down here in the deep south. I love the Ariat brand styles...wish I rode horses so that I could order a pair of their cute western boots! Ariat warranties their shoes/boots -- just register on their website. I know from talking with friends that Ariats last for years & years. I shoe shop only at Zappos...is there anyplace else that can match their blue ribbon customer service -- I think not!

Love this shoe, it runs a bit snug. Ordered a half size larger, perfect when wearing socks.

I love these. They are great slip on shoes to go to the barn when you don't want to put boots on. Not very stylish, but are modeled after a traditional paddock boot which is exactly how/where I wear them. These are not for riding.

Arch support and sole are excellent. Width of shoe is a little narrower then expected. Beautiful leather.

Very comfortable. Heel is a little lower than I expected based on the picture, but overall, I really like the shoes. Comfy.

These are great shoes for work and casual wear. I own two pairs, one in black and one in brown. Both are comfy. The outersole is great - Ariat really has that down. My only complaint is that these are definitely not for walking even a medium distance. Sure, you can park the car, walk 15 minutes, and you’ll be fine, but I frequently walk closer to 30 minutes on my way to the office, and I can sure feel it in my feet. The forefoot just doesn’t feel as well-padded as Ariat’s boots (I wear their Roper style), and because of the open back, you can’t slip a good inner sole in these. Still, I love them!

much thicker than the same shoe ordered previously. previous shoe leather was soft and supple, this style is thick and formed. its okay, i just prefer the soft leather i had before

Loved the color, but the high part of shoe itself [not the heel] came too high and felt uncomfortable with every step I took when I tried them on. Am returning.

Looked cute and had good reviews so I purchased these. Strap too loose and made front view not attractive. Proportional to style, heel height felt too low. Overall too wide. Maybe it’s just my small feet!

This is a really well made shoe. I tried to make it work for me. My true size 8 was too short in the back, walking on the rim. I returned for an 8 1/2 but it still didn't fit my foot right. Kudos for the arch support - its wonderful. So sorry to have to return these, as I was looking for a everyday go-to shoe. Thanks for the opportunity to give it a shot Zappos!

I ordered these mules because I needed something to run around in when I left the house to run errands, pick up kids, shop, etc. I liked the styling, heel height, optional strap, etc. When I received the Waxed Chocolate, I thought the leather looked pretty plastic-like. Additionally (because I have a long last), my heel rested on the edge of the heel cup-they were too short! I'm trying again with another color (Timber) for a more natural look and the next size up.

Leather was more stiff and non flexible than same pair I bought years ago. The shoe felt narrow in the toe area. I love the way these clogs look, but have to return as I am all about comfort these days.

I was so exited about these shoe until I put them on my feet. I have very narrow feet, and the toe is so tight, I was getting blisters just from wearing them around the house. I tried socks too, still super uncomfortable around the toe.

Well made shoes but the strap on the pair I got could have fit tighter across the top of the shoe. I am worried I might catch it on something when walking. The toes fit good but I felt like I could walk out of the shoes, very loose from mid foot to heel. It didn’t feel stable. I wear a lot of slides and these shoes weren’t a good fit for me. Again though, well made and nice leather.

This is a nice looking shoe with great added functionality of a strap that flips forward and back - exactly what I need for a yoga teacher training I will be attending where shoes will be on/off. However, the strap seems a little thin for all of the work it is going to be doing. Will see how it does. The quality of these shoes seems much lesser than the last time I bought this same shoe: thinner leather strap, harder to move the strap, thinner sole, heel not easy to replace. I had my old pair for 10+ years and they were true work horses.

I wanted to love these shoes. This is pair #5 in 2 weeks, returned. I have 4 pairs of Ariat clogs and boots. When I put my foot into this clog my average, low volume, no bunions foot slammed head first into the inside of the toe area. I didn’t even try on the other shoe! No way I could wear this shoe more than 10 seconds.

I wanted to like this shoe but I didn't like the way the piece on the top goes back behind your heel. If you leave it where it is, it moves around when you walk. Very comfortable shoe though.
