For those of you who are a D width, get either the E or perhaps even a EE. I bought an E and spent a lot of effort in stretching them. I normally buy shoes that have a D width. I figured the Allen Edmonds Fifth Avenue in E width would be nice for traveling, for one's feet expand while traveling buy air (not to mention by all the walking one must do at airports). Surprisingly, the E was too narrow. I had to stretch them. The next time, I'll buy EE (hands down). Good thing I didn't buy the Ds. In terms of quality, however, top notch (at the same level of a bespoke pair, which I have). Customer service: also top notch. Great company.

I am very happy with my Allen Edmond shoes! I have narrow feet (13A) and have extreme difficulty in finding good quality shoes that are the style I prefer and fit well. I am also pleased that these shoes are American-made. I am hoping that my shoes will be with me for years to come.

The Fifth Avenue is another timeless classic that you just can't go wrong with in any color. This is a perfect choice for someone who wants just a bit more detail than the Park Avenue. I have a pair in brown, and they are great. They fit perfectly. I own about a dozen Allen Edmonds and have been buying them for 20 years. I've kept my shoes in excellent condition by following a few guidelines. I clean and condition my shoes before the first use. Since the shoes might have been in inventory for a while, you want to make sure the leather is hydrated before wearing them. After that it's just regular intervals of cleaning, conditioning, and polishing/shining. And of course I always use proper fitting cedar shoe trees. Another important bit of information is to not wear the same pair of shoes on successive days. This way the shoe has time to naturally dry out between wearings.

I have 6 pairs of Allen Edmonds which I have picked up over the past 10 years. I have to say these are my favorite and the ones I get complimented in the most. I have them in "bourbon" and I wear them with everything but black pants. Love them and they love me. Always keeping me comfortable and looking good.

I have been saving to purchased shoes from Allen Edmonds. I ordered the "FIFTH AVENUE CAP-TOE OXFORDS" black color on sale. I was very impress with quality and crafting of the shoes, after wearing them for two weeks, the shoes began to mold to my feet and now they fit like a pillow. I will start saving for the next sale to purchase shoes form Allen Edmonds. I highly recommend this shoes to anyone looking for quality shoes.

I have two pairs of the Fifth Avenue, one in black and one in bourbon. They're an excellent shoe for suits, and serve as a slightly more visually interesting alternative to the Park Avenue. The black Fifth Avenue can do anything the Park Avenue can do, except for Black Tie. The shoes fit true to size, and have been my workhorses for the past three years.

I have been a Allen Edmonds customer for 4 years now. I have been around the brand my entire life since it was the shoe my father wore. I can't begin to say how impressed I am with the company and the fifth avenue line. Comfort, style, versatility, and great color make this the perfect shoe. I would recommend this line and company to anyone. Keep up the great work.

I love the dark chili color on these shoes, and as always, the fit and comfort is great. I had to exchange for a different size and was again impressed by AE customer service. Great shoes, wonderful people, I love doing business with these folks.

I wear dress shoes only a few times a year so they must make a statement. These shoes absolutely send the message of confidence and pure professionalism and I always get compliments from not only co-workers but complete strangers in elevators. They are extremely comfortable and with proper care, will definitely last me for the rest of my life, which is why I purchased these timeless classics. They are in style now and will be in style in 10 or 20 years, guaranteed!! They look so nice that I am finding excuses to wear them more often.

These shoes are extremely comfortable and one of my favorite Allen Edmonds styles. This is my third pair of AE dress shoes (definitely not my last).

I purchased these after recommendation from a co-worker. Out of the box they looked beautiful. After wearing a few days to allow the leather to conform to my foot, these are also the most comfortable shoes that I own. I couldn't give a higher recommendation.

Within the last 5 months I've bought 7 AE shoes. Two in particular is the Fifth Ave in Walnut and Chili. I must say, this is easily the best dress shoes I've ever bought. It is so easy to match a whole attire. It is very classy with just a hint of brogueing - not too much not too little. I love wearing navy or sky blue shirt and pants, and the Fifth Ave is the perfect compliment, especially with the matching Manistee belt. They are very comfortable as well. I work in an office and my job involves walking around the building. Wearing the Fifth Ave does cause any stress on my feet and even my back. I find the last to be the perfect fit for me also - in size 8 and standard width (D). I highly recommend these shoes in practically any/all color. I have enough shoes to wear daily without wearing the same twice a week. I also have Wednesdays dedicated for my Fifth Ave in Walnut - you know Walnut Wednesday? But I find myself wanting to wear the Fifth Ave everyday. Casual Fridays have been very difficult since I would always want to wear the Fifth Ave also. Good thing I have the Chili so atleast I can start calling Fridays Fifth Ave Fridays.

I ordered these in the dark chili. Great color. Versatile. The first pair came with some puckering in the leather. I sent them back, after contacting customer service, and got a second pair without issue. The second pair arrived with the V tread sole. This was not an option that I ordered, but I was very happy to have it. On a brannock I am an 11.5 D/E, so I ordered an 11.5 E. The width is great, but I should have gone with an 11 on this (the 5) last. I have a pair of Cornwallis 11.5 E on the 1943 last that fit better length-wise. That said, the 11.5 E 5th ave. is still quite comfy. I can wear them for 12 hours at a time without any issues. Great shoes.

I have been wearing the Fifth Avenue as a uniform shoe and the Park Avenue for over20 years for a major airline. They are extremly comfortable. When greeting passengers I'm always receiving complements on the shine and beauty of the make of shoe. I also purchased a pair of the Hampstead in Chili and the matching belt. No matter where I go I am always complemented on my selection of shoes. When they start to show wear I send them in for recrafting and the shoes look as good as new.

I was looking for a new dress shoe to add to my boring collection of just black dress shoes and these Fifth Avenues in the walnut calf are the perfect addition. The best part is knowing how long they'll be a part of my wardrobe.

These were my third pair of AE shoes. The quality of materials and construction are good, and the fit is great. These are very comfortable shoes that require very little break in. The dark chili color is beautiful and very versatile. What really stands out when visiting one of AE's stores is the level of service provided. All the sales people I've dealt with have been knowledgeable about the products, friendly, and professional. I highly recommend visiting one of the stores if you have one in your area.
