I am so impressed by Allen Edmond Shoes that I bought a pair of these shoes for a friend of mine. I have been looking at Allen Edmond shoes for quite some time and I love the quality of the shoe. It has great style and also great versality for dress wear. The shoe is very well made and certainly looks well with a suit. In fact, since this first purchase, I have purchased 5 more Allen Edmond Shoes. I am a true believer in Allen Edmond shoes...though personally, I have never worn a pair of them myself. The reason I haven't bought a pair for myself, is that they don't make women's shoes! Great style and fine workmanship. Thank you Allen Edmond! Love your shoes!

Beautifully crafted and finished shoe! I own several pairs of AE shoes, and this one was my second pair. I've always like the brogue detailing of the wingtip, but felt it was just a little too much--the Strand strikes a perfect balance between a plain cap-toe and the wingtip: elegance with just a dash of extra style. As a complement to whatever you are wearing, AE is a noticeably high-quality detail and the Strand is top-tier. I have this shoe in burnished brown and find it (and its matching AE dress belt) to be the perfect accompaniment to a navy blue suit. I rank the overall value as "good" only because I have not yet owned and worn a pair of AE shoes for a significant amount of time (recently retired military; have only just begun working in a formal office environment requiring business/dress attire). I believe they will hold up well, but cannot yet attest to it.

I originally fell in love with the Strand in the Walnut color. I saw it on display in the store and thought, "Wow, that would look great as a Summer shoe." I ended up going with them in black (you never read any reviews of people buying black, so here you go). The black is very nice because the leather carries a nice shine, while the black color subdues some of the detailing in a good way. It's a great shoe and it breaks in very quickly. The sole is much thinner than on my McAllisters or Madison Avenues, so they are very comfortable right out of the box. I had some significant squeaking noises when I would walk and found it to be the tongue rubbing against the laces. A little dab of some leather conditioner on the tongue took care of the annoying squeak and had me back in action.

I am a first responder and I purchased this shoe after visiting a store and talking with the sales rep. The fit was spot on for my wide feet, I even had to use them in an emergency situation causing me to run in them, they performed perfectly and my feet did not hurt after.

I recently purchased three new pairs of AE shoes and do not know why it took me so long to find this brand in life. I own a pair of Mcallister 's in dark chili, a pair of Fifth Avenue in black, and most recently a pair of Strands in brown. My HR Director recently commented on how nice my shoes are and ask me if I picked out my shoes or does my wife...I am not sure how to take that comment. AE shoes turn heads and the belts are a fantastic compliment to them so buy a matching belt with your new shoes. I would also recommend the shoe trees, polish, and brushes to care for your investment. I am hooked on the quality, looks, and comfort of this brand and I consider myself to be quite particular.

Love these shoes. They are excellent quality and a great investment for any professional. I own several pairs and have not been disappointed yet!

The first pair of Allen Edmonds I purchased were walnut Strands. Five years later, I now have 10 pairs of AE's, but the original Strands are still going strong and without question my favorites. Perfect with dark jeans or trousers, they're the most versatile show I own. After five years, they're on their second sole, but still look great and fit like a glove. Buying these was one of the best purchases I've made.

The Strand is my go to shoe for office, meetings and business calls. In Chili, it is also versatile enough for casual wear. Great look, stylish but timeless. It is a standard of my wardrobe!

I already owned a couple pairs of Allen Edmonds, but had never visited a retail store. When I visited, the customer service was superb! No only did the representative explain how the shoes are manufactured (and how that impacts sizing), but most importantly, the representative made sure that I would not have to "break in" any shoe I purchased that day. The rep took the sizing on each of my feet and gave me several pairs to try on, to ensure the perfect fit. I did not realize by shopping only online, that changing the length of the shoe can also lead to small variations in the width. If you have a store in your area, you must go in to get the perfect fit!

I bought my first pair of Allen Edmond shoes not having heard of Allen Edmonds but I liked the look and the feel of the shoe. I found the style timeless so twelve years later after three re-heelings and two re-soleings I finally had to give up my original pair and buy these as a replacement, not exactly the same style as my original but similar. Along the way all of my dress shoes and my dressy casual have become Allen Edmond. Fit, form and durability are as high quality as my first pair many years ago.

These shoes are striking and a must have in any man's collection. The craftsmanship is incredible and the quality will last a lifetime. Once the cork is broken in, they are extremely comfortable as they have customly molded to your foot.

Allen Edmonds does not fail to impress as they have always delivered top notch quality in build and material. The Strand style is my favorite AE shoe, especially in the Walnut color, because it is versatile with what you can pair it with. You can wear it to work, weddings, or even casually with jeans on the weekend. It does't take long to break in the shoe and it is the most comfortable dress shoe I have owned over the years. If you were to consider in purchasing any AE shoe, I would recommend also purchasing a matching belt as well as shoe trees to maintain the integrity of the structure of the shoe. After looking this shoes at the department store, I couldn't stop thinking of buying this great pairs. Finally, I owned it. Because I researched alot and have heard many good reputation of Allen Edmonds shoes I had no any doubt about its quality. Yes, it has a great quality in materials and build quality of workmanship. Also provides a perfect and comfortable fit. Strands walnut color goes with many styles including suit and casual outfit. It provides a great looking by itself And together with clothes.

This stunning shoe is a head turner! The classic good looks of the cap-toe Strand in the walnut color makes it the perfect business shoe when you want to make a statement. The shoe pairs perfectly with a blue business suit, or a casual linen sport coat, yet it is equally at home with a pair of five-pocket jeans. I have had my Strands for several years. The sizing is right, the shoes are flawlessly made, and they still look like new. I have eight pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes. I would have no other.

In preparing for our son's wedding, the men in the wedding party were asked to get similar looking foot ware... Allen Edmonds Cap Toe Oxford's were the perfect match. Great first of many purchases Great price, great quality

I own quite a few pairs of various Allen Edmonds shoes and am always impressed by the craftsmanship. The Strand is no exception, it is stylish, comfortable, and the craftsmanship is outstanding. I originally purchased the shoe in walnut and have since purchased it in black as well. It looks great dressed up as well as with casual attire. As always, Allen Edmonds' customer service is outstanding.

Since I recently started to wear AE shoes, I have bought three pair in three months. My family got me the Strands in Walnut, for Fathers Day 2016. I will enjoy these shoes for years to come for their style, comfort and the memory of my girls buying me something so perfect. The shoe has a classic style and great color in the Walnut. I have received very nice compliments from the guys beginning the first day I wore them.
