If Levi is your brand then this is the perfect cut for someone who likes the slimmer look without the tapered leg. The boot cut is slight but a nice style addition. I am 5'10" and 148lbs and got the 30X32 which fit perfectly.

Since teenager I wear Levi's blue jeans after all these years any fit problem. This is the powerful reason to avoid choosing another brand...There is no other jean like Levi's

These are really nice jeans. They run just a tad bit baggy but my boyfriend looks great in them.

I bought these jeans for my husband. He has already had 527 jeans, but they are getting old and he really like them, so I bought the new ones. He has a large hip and big thighs, so if he choose jeans that fit his hip and thighs, they are very loose at the bottom and he looks so big and bad. Also he doesn't like skinny jeans, so these jeans are perfect for him! He doesn't feel any tightness and his hip looks small in them. I guess that I will buy another pairs in the future too.

I'm a woman who has worn Levis for decades. In the last month, 3 pairs - all around 10 years old - split somewhere around the butt. So it was time to replace my 545 but I couldn't find anything in the women's jeans anywhere near that style. I decided to try the men's 527 as it looked closest to my old 545s in style and color. Ordered the same size that I wear in women's 30/32 and 30/34. Whoa! I couldn't get these past my thighs and I am not a curvy girl. Guess men's are no where near cut the same. Alas. However, if I could wear them, here are the positives: pure 100% cotton great denim and true to length (which from other reviews seems to not be consistent).

Great looking pair of jeans. Pretty slim in the thigh area. Dark washes keep their color pretty well.

This is exactly what we expect to receive when we order Levi's 527. The only difference is that the waist is a little higher than the last pairs I purchased for my husband, but that is a good thing. Color is not quite as dark as pictured. Overall we are satisfied.

Levi 527's are a good fit at the waist, nice and slim but wide enough at the leg bottom to accommodate high boots easily. Good price and free shipping :)

This jeans are great but they are as a lot of people here are saying, they are very inconsistent. I have a lot of jeans in this style and they all fit differently. Sometimes wider or longer

These are great jeans. I'm a tall, slim hipped female and women's jeans just never fit right. In men's jeans the waist is usually too big if they fit in the hips, but in these the waist is low enough that they sit perfectly on my hips, and look fantastic. Plus I can get them in a length that is tall enough. So glad I found these, I'm off to order another pair.

I am a big fan of Levis 527s so naturally I am pleased with my purchase. I think it would be helpful to point out the comments of another reviewer who indicated that if you have an athletic build Slim 527s will be tight in the thigh and calf. It is also important to note that there are differences in the fabric blends used in the 527s so the fit will be a little different depending on which pair of 527s you choose. I ride a bicycle so my thighs and calves are a little developed. I find the blends with 1% or 2% elastane have a better fit for me than the 100% or 99% cotton blends. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, it shipped right away and my orders from Zappos have always been correct.

My teenage son loves these jeans. Not all 527 slim bootcut jeans fit the same. I had to send some others back that were of different colored jean in the same style and size that did not fit like these.

I ordered a pair of Levi 527 jeans, and received a pair of Levi 559's instead. Called Customer Service, and because of the mistake, they are not only sending the correct pair that I ordered, but also told me to keep the 559's, and not only that, were crediting me my purchase price of the original pair of Levi's back on my Credit Card! Fantastic Customer Service! Never had better. Thank you Zappos!

These are true bootcut pants. They are kind of slim through the thigh and tapers wide. They are not too slim, I have athletic legs and they are not skin tight. But the important thing to know is that the pants run long so that they do not look weird when you are wearing boots in them. That means that if you are wearing shoes you might be stepping on the back of the pants, and they will fray and tear under your shoes. These are great pants, but really only work if you are wearing boots, or something that adds a little height with them. The color is great, comfortable fabric, have some weight to them. Do not dry on hot and that is pretty much it. They are my go tos.

I have been wearing these Levi's 527's for years. Still very comfortable and fit well. Not as durable as the hard denim. Only disappointment was one pair was made in Viet Nam and the other in Haiti. Doesn't seem right for such an American icon.

Ol' faithful....v. 2. I've been a longtime (10+ years) fan of the 517's. But, one year, I needed a new pair badly and the local Levi's store only had the 527's. So I tried them and I'm now more comfortable with the 527's than the 517's. It's a cut I know exactly what I'll get. The only variations I've had are in color, and I like this darker blue.

Over the long course of my life, I have only worn 2 types of jeans Levi's and Wrangler's. I wear them for work and my personal life. These Levi's are of the same ruggedness, quality, fit and comfort as those I first started wearing back in the early 70's. Not only do they fit the way jeans are supposed to, but they still look awesome while wearing them, and the comfort is natural like one would expect. I recommend these jeans, you will love them. If you haven't tried this style, by all means do!

It's so hit or miss with Levi's, not actually a complaint, I like the almost infinite variety, this pair is absolutely fabulous, made in Haiti, stitching is flawless, material soft but still bright blue, not faded. Bright dull red and faint red contrasting stitching, I am not overweight at all, not even by 5 lbs and these fit great, tight, 33W, 32I, in a 517 I wear a 32, 32 which gives a bit more room, but still has a a great fit. Not a typo, go up one waist size on the 527's to go down 1/2 waist size in the 517's. For me these flared boot cut jeans are the only way to go.
