Nice but the rise is a bit short and the olive is a very green shade, a bit too green to be neutral. I have the 514s in brown and the fit is not quite as snug and the fabric is more jeans-like. These are nice, and while I am a fit middle aged adult, they are probably better for the younger set.

Almost a great style. I decided a couple of years ago to go back to Levi's after a long hiatus. Wore 501's religiously until I joined the Marines and gained a lot of muscle making them too tight in the legs. I've been wearing Old N. and anchor blue's for a long time. Anchor blue went out of business, and Old N. kept changing the fit so I decided to try Levi's again. I first tried 505's, and though comfortable, they end up looking like "Mom jeans." So when I first tried not he 514's I was pretty excited. My first pair was a little short, I'm a 31" inseam, but not one makes that, so I ended up getting a 30" inseam in 514's. It's okay, not flood pants territory but close. I decided to get 32's. Orders 2 pair of chords and 2 pairs of jeans. For some reason the seem almost like boot cut jeans, really wide opening at the feet. Except for the black which are stretchy and tapered for some reason. I moved to the 508's, like them a lot better. If the 514's had a slight taper they would be perfect, not tight but just right - not so. Can't wear them with Vans or Converse. One thing that is really frustrating about Levi's is that the fit varies depending on the color you get, this is just plain stupid!

I'm 6'1 180 lbs. I bought these pants in size 32x34. They fit great right out if the package, but after a few times of wearing the pants stretched almost 2 inches in the waist and thighs. I would not recommend.

Did not know that some 514 are all cotton and a heavier weight then others, like this pair I am returning. Too lightweight and does not feel like it will hold up well.

They are not really slim or too baggy but definitely should not be called slim straight. Okay for the price. Weekend jeans nothing too stylish and not too impressed with quality. Love the Zappos shopping experience so I'm okay.

Bought these for my dad, former soccer player with large thighs and butt. He wanted the skinny but not to skinny look, but these ended up being just baggy around the leg part. He got the size 34x32. He is 5´8-5´9 (177 cm) tall, and the jeans was too long. I am going to order the Levis 508 regular taper jeans instead. Other than that, great Zappos service.
I'd also recommend:

These jeans are paper thin and have stretched in the waist from a 34 to about a 36! Not the Levi's quality I'm used to.

The twill is much softer (more nap) than I wanted. I wwnt a gabardine and this is a serge, so to speak...so I am returning the Levi's. Fit is OK...a bit loose through the seat and thigh for my build though.

I ordered the 3-D coated, the very first pair shown in the illustrations. I must say that the beige stitching is very prominent and the jeans themselves, run pretty small or perhaps, I'm just too hippy. I would hate to think I've gained weight so quickly over the past week so I'm assuming they run small. I'm ordering a larger size in hopes of a better fit. I really want a pair of True Religions but refuse to pay $200 or more for some. In the meantime, these Levi's will do.

The size of this jeans is pretty consistent with other Levi's models I have had, including 505 and older 514 and the fit is pretty decent (I normally wear 32 in Levi's). These 514 fit tighter than 501 and 505 models but without being skinny like the 511. My main concern is that the model I got (3D Coated) is ridiculously thin, I never had jeans that felt so thin and flimsy. My older pair of 514 has much more substance to them. I haven´t used them much yet to comment on durability but for sure I wont be wearing these until summer hits

It's been a while since I've had a pair of Levi's and I am not thrilled with these. The 34 length seems shorter than any other 34 I own so they feel like they are too short to me. Also, the material has a finish to it that seems a little plastic.

It's disappointing that the material feels much thinner than the 501s I recently purchased; the fit is getting better with each wear; and 3D coated is just a neat look.

Order arrived quickly but the 32" inseam is just 30.5"...so back they go, maybe the 34" inseam will be closer to the 32" needed.

These jeans are labeled 514 but once my son tried them on it was clear they are 514s in name only. They are both more slim and MUCH shorter than all other 514's he's ever worn, including the many we've ordered from Zappos. Not Zappos' fault, but shame on Levi's for calling these 514's when they don't resemble that cut of jean at all.

Material not the good old Cotton Twill like beige or off white Lees and Levis of the past but, I was hopeful these would fit like my Corduroy 514s from a few years ago which I am wearing as I type this. Nope. Completely different and tighter. Granted, these are all Cotton and the Corduroys have just a smidge of Elastane. Still, disappointed.

I prefer all cotton jeans that are sturdy and break in over time to provide a long lasting good fit. The description indicates that the color I purchased is 99% cotton. However, the jeans received were 70% cotton and 30% other materials and very stretch. Not at all what I was expecting.

Very hard stiff material...after several washings they're still that way. Levi's products vary widely depending upon where they're made...some thin material, some thick and stiff...how about a little quality control?

The material feels great and the color was as advertised. The down side is that the LEVI brand seems to be sub contracted for production without necessary consistency standards. It had taken a few experiments with length and waist measurements to get a good fit, but then it seems to keep changing! A good thing about Zappos is the free return for any reason policy. I'll be trying again in the near future.

Fit was fine, The pants arrived with a defective fastener and zipper. They cannot be worn. I like the pants and would be happy with exchange.

Purchased an older pair from a retail store and since I was able to try on, size (36 x 32) was perfect fit. The pair I purchased from Zappos was the same 514 Levis (100 % cotton) 36 x 32 size, but the actual length even though noted as 32, was approximately 35. Will have to get these altered. Disappointed.

Fit was good and size was fine but quality of jeans are horrible. A hope appears right above the back pocket after a couple months of having them. 3 different pairs. Levi’s has definitely gone down in quality of their product.

The twill seemed cheap and not very very strong. I didn't care for the fit, too loose and for the price, not a great value. You could buy these anywhere from Marshalls to Target to Walmart for half the price with the same quality

The jeans are comfortable and fit well after having them hemmed. The quality of material and workmanship is sadly lacking. Three weeks after they arrived, the left back belt loop is torn loose Again. This makes the third pair of 514s that this has happened to in the past two years. If I did not like the style and fit as much as I do, I would not buy them. Levi could do a LOT better on quality!
