I own a pair of these dark blue jeans at 31W. Waist has increased to a 32 so looked to purchase the same. Unfortunately the color is not the same and the legs are too bloated. Will return.

These jeans were billed as 100% cotton. They're 1% elating, whatever the hell that is. I just want a real pair of jeans, I have plenty of these can't seem to find the 100% cotton ones anywhere in black. Bad advertising, haven't decided if im returning or not quite yet.

Length is inconsistent with other Levi’s jeans. Typically a 33” inseam fits great. These are short.

Purchased these for my husband. Fit is too slim and fabric is stiff and scratchy. Color also more orange than shown.

Has anyone else noticed that Levi's has completely changed the sizing and cut of these jeans? I used to buy a 32x32 and it fit perfectly. It seems that they are longer and the waist is larger. Now I have to buy a 32x30 and they still don't fit the same. I was just curious if anyone else noticed the change. I may try the 513's next time to see if they fit like the 514's used to.

Hit or miss quality control. I have a previous pair of 514s that has lasted at least two years: they started to pill and fuzz after about one year of heavy wear (3-4 times a week). With the new pair from Zappo's, the Levi's patch cracked and tore ragged after a single warm/cold cycle. I haven't worn them enough to really test out the durability of the fabric but it seems good. Although the fit of 514s is quite good for me, I hesitate to buy another pair sight unseen.

Nice boot cut Jean. Can't beat the price. Many colors and fabric blends available, check the description some colors have more spandex the others. A few are all cotton, my preference.

Found these to be about average quality. Denim was thin and the belt loops seemed like they were stapled on instead of stitched. Still love Levi's, just not these. Like the 513's personally

I don't think they are making 514s the way they used to. I order the husband both the Dirt Rush and the Kale, he liked the denim look of the dirt rush but the kale was too weathered with all those worn out bleached lines at the pockets. Both denims were stretchy, like baggy jeggings for men! It was strange. I just want the old 514s back. These were baggier and the denim wasn't great. I will probably try them again in another denim, or go down to a slimmer cut. But these two are going back, unfortunately.

Loved the jeans - bought them a little bigger than necessary for a relaxed fit. I was shocked, therefore, to go to put them on one morning: when I grabbed the metal button to push through the hole at the top of the jeans it broke off in my hand. I have never had that happen before and I have been buying jeans for 40 years. I don't know what is going on with Levis, I have also bought 3 other pairs of Levis from Zappos and they all ripped in the crotch (and, no I am not overweight). In reading other reviews, I see that these jeans tearing in the crotch - and other areas - is pretty commonplace. Very disappointing not to mention expensive to buy 4-5 pairs of jeans and after one year to have 4 of them be unwearable.

Have to send back. Way undersized. Normally wear 36 and these I couldn't even zip up. As always Zappos did great job on return. On other hand Levis is not what it used to be.

The fit seems inconsistent between pairs/colors. I have one pair in "graphite twill" and they fit great - as they say, perfect medium between baggy and slim. I also have three other pairs in various colors that I never wear. One is super baggy down to the knee, one is reasonable throughout but has incongruously tight cuffs, and the other seems to have the waist and seat of a much larger size, so they fall down constantly and give me an adult diaper kind of look. If you're lucky, you'll get your favorite pair of jeans, but so far I'm 1 for 4.

They are very lose fitting even after washing & drying, so "straight/slim" description is misleading. Next time I would go a waist size smaller since they are stretchy.

We ordered this fit because my husband liked his last pair of 514's. These one ended up being a couple inches too long and much baggier in the legs. Tried to shrink them but it didn't work. He thinks they're comfy but it's annoying that the length is not right and they get walked on even with shoes.

I bought the Kale style, and they were made from thinner, flimsier material than I've come to expect from Levi's. They fit great though.

I ordered these and had to exchange them because the length (inseam) was 2-3 inches longer than their usual. Sadly, the second pair was also extra long. I am going to have to return them as well and order a few sizes down...

I love these jeans when I get lucky and find a good pair. The problem is there is no consistency or quality control going on. I bought a pair that I liked so I order the same exact pair, same size and color, and it felt two sizes larger and much baggier. Even though they were both made in the same country and were both 98% cotton/2% elastane, they one was way bigger than the other. I love Zappos but I'll have to buy these from a store from now on so I can try them on before buying them.

Poor quality control as usual from Levi. One leg is twisted, so the seam is in the middle/front of my son's leg, and the other pant leg is just fine. This has happened to me when purchasing Levi jeans previously, along with other QC problems - e.g. inconsistent lengths and waist sizing. I can't speak to the accuracy of sizing, since this was the first pair of pants that are actually "sized" (28 x 30's) that they fit him pretty well. Could be we guessed right - I haven't measured them. My son only wears gym style pants to school, etc, as he finds anything else uncomfortable. He does not "dress up", so cords seemed like a decent alternative to dress slacks, and he needed black pants for band concerts and other dressier functions that may come up throughout the year. They are soft and look nice (other than being crooked).

I have a pair of these in a normal blue jean color - they fit true to size and look great for a guy who has skinny thighs but wouldn't be caught dead wearing "skinny jeans." So I got another pair in the Chinchilla Twill color, but for some reason that color runs tighter around the waist and longer at the inseam. If you want the Chinchilla Twill color, you might want to try going one size larger at the waist and one size shorter at the inseam, but of course Levi's doesn't seem to have them in that size combination (33x29) for me. So I'll just be happy with the one pair of normal looking blue jeans.

Can’t they make the 514 with the same color and material they make the 505 with. They look like you're wearing a completely different brand of pants then the good looking 505. What a shame!

I'm not sure where Levis came up with their sizing. I ordered 32/30 and I couldn't even get them up around my thighs. I usually wear American Eagle jeans and even have 30/30 Gap jeans and they all fit fine. Other than that, they are very nice looking. The color and the fabric look and feel great.

Pants are very soft fabric, especially when freshly washed. They feel good but they don't keep their shape. They do stretch out.

Did Levi's change the cut? Or perhaps there is some inconsistency in the sizing? My husband wears 514s exclusively - he has at least 10 pairs - and I always buy him the same size (35 waist, 34 length). This time I ordered him 2 more pairs and they were so tight and low-cut that it was almost obscene, so I had to return them. What's strange is that a month later we saw some 514s at a major retailer in his size (super rare) and they fit perfectly.
