Awesome shoe! Kind of feels like a ski boot but you get used to and they look sick.

I bought these Sorel boots in shale, and I'm so glad I chose these boots over the Torfino. The Sorels are warmer, sturdier and better equipped to handle the slushy sidewalks of downtown DC. The boots will definitely keep your feet warm. I, on the other hand, will have to double up with super thick socks because my feet are perpetually cold. I've worn these boots three times and received compliments each time. These boots are way warmer and cuter than traditional Uggs. I am between a 7.5 and an 8, but I opted for size 7 because the 8s rubbed the back of my ankles.

Warm and stylish! What more could a gal from Minnesota want? I wear these with skirts and leggings and someone always asks me where I got them!

Love, love, love the shoe! I wear a size 12 Wide so, it's pretty difficult for me to find shoes that fit. This boot absolutely fits perfect. I hear a lot of complaints about calves being to wide when it comes to this shoe. No such problem here. Joan of Arctic is super stylish, ultra warm, and very comfortable. Love this boot and would absolutely purchase again!

I love these! I was nervous after reading some of the other reviews but I am so happy that I went ahead and ordered them anyway. I do not find them too heavy and I ordered my normal size and the fit is perfect with a thick pair of socks.

Love these boots! Super cute! That being said, I was seriously on the fence due to mixed reviews about comfort and size. Granted this may not apply to many as this boot is a decidedly different boot than Ugg; however, if you wear Uggs and bought a size down, I would highly recommend sizing down in the Sorels as well. I'm normally a 6.5-7.0 and decided to try a 6.0 in the Sorel. It's perfect. The shank is stiff but I don't think it will be any more difficult to break in than a pair of Doc Martens, which come to think of it, I also take a size smaller in that brand as well. The Sorels are going to be considerably warmer than my Docs though. I can't wait for snow.

I have wanted to buy this boot since I saw it advertised in a catalog last season. I was seeing it everywhere this year, which made it hard to ignore. I read the Zappos reviews, however, which made me hesitate, even though they are mostly positive. I did up buying them, obviously and I have to say, I completely disagree with everything negative said! They look amazing in catalogs, but they are gorgeous in person! I got the suede color, and it looks just the same as it does online, red stitching, red soles, dark brown details, love them! I don't find them large or small...my normal shoe size is 9.5/10, I got the 10 and they are perfect. They are stiff and clunky, sure, but they are snow boots, they are supposed to be!! As far as heel rub, I have been wearing them around the house and I haven't noticed anything like that, and no, there is not much arch support, but again, they are snow boots! I can't really attest to how warm/waterproof they are because I haven't tried them out yet, but I know Sorel makes pretty great boots in general, so I expect that they'll be great. So, I hoped this helps some of you who are on the fence...do it! They are amazing, you won't be disappointed! I love them, and I cannot wait for it to snow!!! And did I mention how great they look on?

Amazing boots! Absolutely love them! I really wanted warm and comfortable boots that I could wear walking to class and around campus and these are definitely it. They run a little big, so I suggest sizing down. I usually wear 8 to 9; I bought an 8 and they fit perfect! They keep my feet nice and toasty; I can't wait for it to snow to put to use the waterproof bottoms! Definitely worth every penny; you need to buy these boots!

Super dooper cute! I love the pink detailing of this years style. I can't wait for the snow so I can put these puppies on! They are so hot with skinny jeans. They are not as bulky or heavy as my other Sorels. But very warm and keep my feet dry. I typically wear a size 9 but in Sorels I always get one full size down for a perfect fit. And of course they came the next day. Love Zappos!

I couldn't wait for the first snowfall! They look great on, I've gotten oodles of compliments. Also they are warm and comfy. I wear a 7.5 The 7 fits nicely.

I love these boots. They are very warm, high enough to keep the snow out even when I play in drifts. In addition to being warm and comfy, they are cute as in functionally cute! As another reviewer said, they are not for walking in the mall. They are for walking the dog and playing in the deep snow. I love them! There is a slight heel rub, but not terrible. I have been wearing them for three years and they hardly show any wear. I would buy them again.

I love these boots. Stylish, warm, and yes, a tad on the big side and as most other reviewers have claimed, but I like it because I can wear a thick pair of wool socks with them. I have gotten so many compliments on these boots, it's embarrassing!

Love these boots! Super warm, and they look great. They are a little heavy, so it's definitely a snow boot and not an everyday cold weather boot.

I typically wear a size 7-7.5 and I bought a 7 and found that they run large. I wear them with thick knee high socks anyways. They are a bit chunky, but they stand up to NY winters. Waterproof, warm and stylish. I am a Sorel fan for life.

I live down south, where it rarely gets below 15F. I need boots for a winter photography trip to Yellowstone in January & the search for "snow boots" on Zappos brought me to Sorel Joan of Arctic. They promise warmth, and have a bit of funky-trendy look that appeals to me. I order, they arrive, I put them on; can't walk! They seem stiff, bulky & hard to lace. I walked around the house for a while, but no improvement. Called Yellowstone & talked with staff - asked about needing insulated boots vs. my trusty hiking boots. Was assured I'd need insulated boots, "we all wear a brand called Sorel," she said! So, still undecided, I went to our local outfitters store at lunch. I asked to see "snow boots", and they walked me to the wall & pointed at Sorel Joan of Arctics! So I left, and went to our local REI and asked to see "snow boots" and they walked me to the shoe wall and pointed at Sorel Joan of Arctics! I went home, put them on again, and headed out to an outdoor event in 20F temps last night. Boots are very warm. And once I walked around a couple of hours, it occurred to me that they wear like rubber rain boots - more like Wellingtons - than a typical lace-up hiking boot that I'm used to. So, the labels are off, the shoes have been outside & temperature tested, and I got better at lacing them tight at the bottom and looser at the top. I made sure my ski pants would go over the fluffy fur tops, and all is good. I'll probably have very few opportunities to wear them here in NC, but what the heck - I've spent this much on dumber stuff. And they really are funky-cute!

I just got these and they're great! I've been wearing a pair of hunter short rain boots all winter and these are a perfect addition because they have the insert that keeps your foot warm. I read all the reviews first and wasn't sure which size to get. I'm so glad I got my true size because the insert really makes them snug. I love them!

Great look! Lots of compliments! A little to roomy you need to put in your own arch support. But otherwise a comfortable good look!

Best boots ever! I looked at these boots for a week and couldn't decide on them because I read too many reviews! They are not "fashion" boots, they are fashionable winter boots. They're clunky (did you look at the pictures?), but they are warm! Perfect for wearing out in the cold and snow. Not for walking around the mall in. Easy on and off, great for trips outside with the dog! I found them to be true to size and I'm not sure why there were complaints about the heel rubbing, I've had no problems. They are a bit boxy in the toe, but I like room to wiggle my toes. I would buy these again in a heartbeat. I had many complements on them and people asking what the brand is. Don't hesitate, they'll sell out of these!

I love these boots! They are stylish, warm, and fit perfectly (I wear size 12). We are just starting to get some snow, and I'm excited to wear them outside for the first time! I don't doubt that my feet will stay toasty in these boots. They are very easy to get in/out of and it's also very easy to fold my pants flat inside of them when pulling them on. I am 6 foot 1 and these boots hit me just slightly above mid calf.

Love sorel and these boots are great! Warm and toasty in mountain snow and wind.

I am pretty pleased with these boots. My favorite part is that they are waterproof and insulated. I played in 2 feet of snow with my dog in single digit temperatures and my feet were toasty warm and dry. The fur at the top helps prevent any snow from getting inside the boot. They are a bit clunky at times and heavy and can be hard to drive in, but other than that they are great. The downside is that they don't do very well on ice. They are very slippery and don't offer much traction. I am going to buy the contraptions that go on your shoes with nubs that give you traction on ice. I think they are called Yak-Traks or something like that. Then these boots will be great.

I've been wearing Sorel's for cold and snow since moving north many years ago. These are the same high quality, but much cuter than garden variety functional boots. I wish they had a bit more arch support, but otherwise they are great.
