This boot is great for about a month or two, but if you live somewhere like me (Colorado) and it snows all the time then this boot won't cut it. It got a hole in the side of it and I returned them and got a new pair, then a month later the back "North Face" logo started falling off allowing lots of snow to enter. Very comfy but not worth it if you need them to withstand lots of snow.

Cute but plasticky and cheaply made. I got them in black. As with most boots I've tried this year, there's a layer of cardboard or some other hard material between the lining and outer shell which makes them stiff, and, the line in front from the fold will take forever to go away. Also, the soles feel thin and hard after you wear them walking awhile. I was surprised to see North Face selling a cheap product made in China, but hey, find me shoes which aren't these days. Sigh. Since I've worn them outside, I'll keep them.

These are the best boots ever! I wore them for 3 weeks in Austria and Germany in the Alps and my feet were not cold once! They are very comfortable, no rubbing, and they look wicked cute with jeans or leggings. The fur and lace up back makes them unique and more feminine. I even wore them strapped into snowshoes for 4 hours and they kept my feet completely dry, although the straps of the snowshoe rubbed at the leather of the boot a little bit. They still look great, though!

So comfy! I absolutely love these boots. I'm not sure how warm they will be come winter, but they feel like I'm wearing slippers. Highly recommended.

Cute and Comfortable - I bought 4 different pairs of boots this winter, and the Northface Janey is my favorite! It's very true to size, both length and width. I got it in black and I ended up buying more skinny jeans so I can wear these boots more often. They look so cute with skinny jeans. The lace in the back allows me to tighten up the calves area. It doesn't slouch down at all like the other boots I got. I love that my feet don't slide around like they do in the Ugg boots that I got. They come in half-size increments, which is how all shoes and boots should be. I've worn them in 20-60 degree weather. Also in the snow. They have good traction, and they're very comfortable!

I love these boots! They lace up the back which makes it really easy to customize your fit. Very important if you have muscular calves like I do! The neat thing is that once you have laced them how you want them, you just leave it because there is also a zipper that you use to take them on and off. Ingenious! I went a full size up from my street shoe and they are still a hair narrow for me. I put in some gel heel inserts because there is not much cushion in them. But honestly they are so cute and I am so thrilled about how they fit my calf that I'm not complaining.

These are absolutely adorable! Extremely comfy and a little sexy with the lace-up in back. I normally wear a 7-7 1/2 wide. I bought these in an 8 medium and they fit great with a medium weight sock. They are a little stiff like most new shoes, but expect them so \'soften\' up as I wear them.

Gorgeous boots! I normally have issues with tall boots having larger than normal calves, but with the lacing on the back this takes it completely out of the equation. Also, you don't see in the picture there is a "tongue" in the back to go underneath the lacing to keep snow out and allowing them to loosen for any of you with larger calves like me without looking abnormal. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a comfortable, warm, stylish winter boot!

Super warm and comfortable, true to size, and durable enough for the dirty, snowy, salty streets of Warsaw.

Purchased in black: These (for me at least) are true to size. With a normal sock they are comfortably roomy, but with a nice winter sock, they are still great! The leg height is indeed flattering as other reviewers have said and while many boots make me have that horse hoof look, these are pretty feminine for a snow boot. I've yet to try them in the cold weather, but I'm sure I'll be putting them to use next week when I head up north.

I bought these boots because I am now going to college in upstate NY. I haven\'t worn them in weather yet but I can say that they are lightweight, very comfortable and too cute. I love that they lace up the back because I am quite slender and it helps give a better fit and look and there is a side zipper so once laced tight the boots are still easy to get on and off.

These boots are awesome. I have fairly narrow feet and they fit perfectly. Feel very true to size. And the sole is very comfortable. They look super cute, and are warm, too. Can't wait for the snow to come; I'm ready!

Great! I bought these boots in brown and I love them. There have a ton of support and are very comfortable. The lace in the back lets you adjust how tight the boot fits through the calf; perfect for allowing you to tuck jeans and bulky pants into the boots very comfortably. The boots hit the leg at a very flattering height. Great buy! Worth the extra money over other lower quality boots or Uggs.

These are warm boots. I did not have any issues with water soaking through and they were comfortable to wear all day. The first day I got them I wore them for about seven hours and there was some discomfort at the end of the day, but nothing abnormal for new shoes. The second day I had them I wore them all day long and walked all over the place and they were absolutely fine. One feature I really didn't think about is that these are side zipper, so I never actually had to untie the laces. Overall, I am really glad I purchased these boots and would recommend them!

This boot is comfortable, warm, resistant to leaks from snow and slush, and stylish as far as a snowboot goes. I have concern about its durability though as I find that I need to pull on the zipper section to slide the boot over jeans. Also, the warmth factor definitely decreases with time outside. I find that for the first hour my feet are warm, but after any more time outside, I start to feel the numbness in my toes. They could also have more tread; I've definitely had some close calls on the ice and packed snow.

Oh how I love and wanted to keep this boot, they are so cute! I wear a size 10 but ordered an 11; the fit is just not very flattering. Besides being too big, it's a bit too wide at the ankle. I recently noticed the library teacher at my daughter's school wears these, and she said they lack ankle support and it shows. Cute but not a very good fit.

Gorgeous boots! What I love: stylish, warm, comfortable, can wear them all day. What I hate: takes three times as long to put on as any other shoe I own, not as warm as my Nuptse boots.

I normally wear a size 9.5 or 10. They were all out of size 10, so I ordered the 9.5 and it fit well. I have narrow feet and these fit like a glove. If you have wide feet, these might be a little too narrow for you.I liked the look and the feel (very comfortable) however I didn't like having the lacing system up the back. It's a stylish design, but not very practical. I thought I would be able to lace them once and then just use the zipper, but the zipper wasn't large enough to use in that way. I also liked the ice pick technology on the bottom, but wasn't able to test it outside since I wanted to return them.

It's winter! All fall long I have been on a search for a winter boot that has specific requirements: 1. Comfort 2. Waterproof/Warmth 3. Style. The North Face Janey seem to cover most of these points! 1. Comfort: I think this component is the best feature of the Janey. Initially I thought that the bottom of the boot was a bit strange/hard however after 30 minutes of wear, the boot seemed to mold to my feet. I had originally bought these boots thinking I would change out of them when I arrive at work but since the crazy storm this past weekend I have been wearing these non-stop because of the comfort. My only complaint with comfort is that when I put on the boots I have to mess with the tongue in the back because it's not properly affixed. It folds over every which way and I need to take a minute to get it to lie flat. 2. Waterproof/Warmth: The highest requirement for boot shopping was this feature. The Janey is advertised as having a "Waterproof, BLC-compliant full-grain and suede leather upper and HydroSeal waterproof membrane." This was a huge plus for me because last year there was a slushy storm here in NYC and my last pair of boots were not waterproof. While walking around in the snow in NYC these last few days I found that they are so far waterproof and toasty warm (but not sweaty warm). Granted, I was avoiding the slushy puddles. I am not 100% convinced that they would hold up to hanging out in the snow/slush but I am not going to test it out. One thing I didn't realize until during the storm was that while the laces up the back are cute, the tongue is not sealed completely to the boot so snow can and probably will get into the boot if I were to step in wet snow. 3. Style: The Janey boots are super cute and I have gotten some compliments on them. Excluding the things mentioned above, the laces up the back are a great feature because I have smaller calves and the boot is basically adjustable for this purpose. I can make it smaller when I wear tights and larger when I need to tuck jeans. The side zipper is helpful so that when you do tuck jeans/pants you can adjust the pants without jamming your hands in from the top. My only complaint about the style of this boot is the moccasin style front. Not my favorite and it definitely dresses down the boot. Just a side note: the boot is fantastic on most surfaces; however, when traveling in the NYC subways, the boots are slippery on the subway tile floors (in the station) so just be aware of that. Overall I am enjoying these boots and they are worth the price. With a brand like North Face you can't go wrong.

Love these boots. I had been in Uggs for a decade and these boots are infinitely more comfortable. Warmth was my major concern (my Uggs never kept my toes warm) and these are great! My toes stay warm, even after hours in the cold. Second concern was traction which is also great in these boots. The flexible sole gives added stability and the faux fur on the top keeps the breezes out. The lack of a full zipper doesn't bother me; the side zip allows you to adjust your pants once you step into them. I got them in black and they're the perfect casual-chic boot. Two reasons for not getting 5 stars: (1) The traction on the bottom is awesome on snow and ice, but once you get inside onto a dry, smooth surface (like your favorite dance club floor) then they're very slippery. So watch out for that. (2) They're not great without socks. They're warm enough, but there are a few uncomfortable rubbings that go away completely when even thin socks are worn. I'm a 6.5-7 and the 7 fits great, even with thick wool socks. I originally got the Sorel Cumberlands, but sent them back immediately (too heavy, non-flexible sole, not cute) and am very glad that I did!

I originally wanted a pair of snow boots that would also work as wear-to-work boots, but ended up getting two pair of boots to cover both needs. The Janey is my wear-to-work boots -- very cute, comfortable, warm. But not so easy for me to tuck my pants/slacks into these boots without having to re-lace them (a pain since the laces are in the back). So I have laced these once and pretty much wear these under slacks, just using the zipper for easy on/off access. I note that someone with skinnier calves might not have the problem that I did. One plus about the Janey -- it tends to make thick calves look thinner. For my snow boot, I went with the Sorel Snowlion -- extremely easy to pull on/off, without even changing the laces, and easy to wear over/under slacks. Not stylish like the Janey though.

These boots are extremely comfortable. They would be great for running errands, but I don't think they're warm enough to wear for a long time in super cold, snowy weather. They are easy to get in & out of because of the side zipper. The strings in the back kept coming untied for me, so you may have to double knot them.

Warm enough for walking my dog 2x a day in this cold Chicago winter and definitely very cute. They have more shape and style than comparable Uggs I've seen. I just wish there was a more water/snow proof version of these.
