I have worn Born sandals in the past and have found them to be quite comfortable, however these boots were a bit disappointing. Although they were basically comfortable, the leather was too stiff and the boots felt really tight around my thin ankles. I liked the style and the heel height, but decided to return them.

Pretty, but... I ordered these in the brown suede, and they are very pretty boots. They seem to be narrow in the foot, which is fine for me because my feet are on the narrow side, but it's something to think about when you order. Also, I wear a 9.5, and I have to say these boots make my feet look really long! I think it's the combination of a slightly narrower looking foot and the lower heel. So if you're sensitive about the way your feet look, it's something to consider. I've worn them with jeans, and they look very nice (but long!).

These boots are absolutely gorgeous in person, but the leather is too stiff for comfortable walking. I have muscular calves, but these were way too lose in the shaft. It would be a good look with skinny jeans, perhaps, but certainly not with skirts. The look of the leather is to die for, but I can't see how they will break in enough to actually walk in them.

I like these a lot. Loose at the top, so they look a little weird with short dresses and such, but I love them with longer things and slim jeans.

Nice boot - This boot is very comfortable and fit perfectly. I wish it had a 1/2 inch higher heel, though. It would look a little more dressy with a slightly higher heel.

This was my first order with Zappos. I have had a hard time finding boots in my area after the holidays, and since it's been very cold, I thought I'd find some on Zappos. I was bummed when I found the boots were a little small -- I am between 8.5 to 9 depending on the shoe, and ordered an 8.5. They felt stiff, and this style also makes my foot look large. Truth be told, my feet are large for my height anyway so I need a shoe to de-emphasize the fact. The way the stitched area around the foot sticks out further than the leather of the boot is why it makes my feet look bigger. I should have realized this, but you just don't know 'til you have them on. The calf was too tight to zip up even without jeans tucked in. Unfortunately, I will be returning these, and will continue to try and find a pair I can try on in my area...boots are very difficult to order online I think because of all the parameters: shoe size, calf width and height.

I wasn't terribly impressed with these boots. I don't like the rougher texture of the veg leather, and they were snugger overall on me than the other reviews suggested. I ended up returning them.

I am a true 8 1\/2, and while these shoes fit well and were comfortable and the style I was looking for, the shoe part looked huge on my foot. I could wear them, but there was extra space in the toe area, as if it really wasn\'t properly constructed. I had bought a Cole Haan boot in a 9, which looked miniature compared to the Born Yvettes. Bummer.

I normally wear a 9, and have ordered an 8 1/2 after reading all the reviews. Regret it. The boots have enough room for toes due to style, however the heels felt squashed. Am exchanging for my regular size 9. Also the right boot felt smaller than the left one. This particular pair is defective and judging by how the shabby the shoebox looks these boots have been returned before, so beware if you order 8 1/2 in dark brown, you might get this defective pair.The boots are overall beautiful, dark deep brown color is gorgeous, so I'm giving these boots another chance.

I usually love the Born brand but found this boot to be quite stiff and uncomfortable. After a couple of walks around the house with them, I knew I had to send them back.

Interesting leather texture. Starting breaking down and wrinkling while wearing them around the house to determine if I wanted to keep them.

This is my 2nd pair of Born boots that I had to return because they are too narrow and tight for my feet (I\'m normally a 9 medium). The veg leather is not as supple as real leather so they\'d be really comfortable. Fortunately, Zappos has a great return policy so I\'ll keep shopping with them until I find another brand that works for me.

I don't have particularly think calves, but these were so wide they made me look like an elf. Too bad, because the foot fit great.

I purchased these boots last season. I wore them for 3 months and then put them back in their box for the summer. I just brought them out to prepare my fall wardrobe. I'm not real happy with how the boots look after wearing for just the one season. The Veg Leather has not worn as well as I would have liked. I don't think I would suggest purchasing these boots if you want boots that get better with age. Also, I'm going to have to wear extra thick socks with them this year. They have stretched quite a bit.

These boots look great but they are extremely uncomfortable. I bought them for a trip I was taking to NY. Since I was planning on doing lots of walking I thought they would be perfect. I was in a lot of pain. I thought they just needed to be broken in so I wore them for a few days. I finally gave up since they were so painful. Thankfully Zappos let me exchange them for something else. If you only want boots to sit around in these are for you, if you want to be able to walk in them, these are not.

I've been buying Born shoes/boots for years and these were so disappointing. The quality of the leather and the comfort of the fit weren't up to par.
