Lovely shoe, but my heel slips. I tried a size down from my regular shoe size. I'll have to send it back.

I was slip sliding around in this boot; it felt at least a full size too big.

OK, here is the deal, the boot is really cute, but..its so hard to get on, finally after a long time struggling to get it on and my foot in the boot, it fit fine, but again when I started to walk my heel slipped, too much hassle to bother with, especially when the price is so much. It's not worth the sweat, I returned the boot the next day, I am so glad I deal with Zappos because the shipping is free, you have the best customer service ever! Sorry the boot didn't work out.

Great boots. Bought them for a trip to Montana. The leather was soft and felt broken in right out of the box. As with all cowboy boots they are a challenge to put on when new but once on they fit true to size. I am a 9.5 and have a very narrow foot. The heel slips a bit but that is normal for cowboy boots.

Love everything about the boot, except I wanted a Red Boot. Its not very Red at all. Its more of a Burnt Orange. Contemplating seeing if a red polish will make it work for me because I love everything else about it.

These are beautiful boots, but I ordered my regular size and there is no way that I could get them on. I know boots are difficult to get on, but I am too old to spend 30 minutes getting my boots on every morning.

I just love this little boot - I bought them a month ago and I have worn them every day since! I was looking for a western style but didn't necessarily want a higher boot shaft because my legs always get too hot and sweaty (especially with tights while wearing a dress). Anywho these boots are the best - I do wear a Dr Scholls insert but that's because I have very flat foot and with all of my shoes I need a lot of cushion or my heel aches. But there's plenty of room to do that - I measure exactly a 10 1/2 but manufacturers rarely have that size so I ordered an 11. Just a tip - I do this to all of my boots - I have the cobbler add a non-slip sole to the leather sole otherwise I'm slipping all over the place. I'm fairly klutzy. So, there you have it - love these boots! I wear them with skinny jeans, boot cut jeans, dresses with tights - oh, and I've worn them through a couple of airports! Easy on and off. It's possible that I may buy a lighter color for summer.

This is a great looking shoe but it is too wide for my narrow foot. I went down a size but it still slipped off my foot.

Totally the best bootie ever! I swear by Frye and they never let me down. Some say these are a bit snug to pull on but they are just fine for me. I have the tall Carsons in black and some others, Melissa in cognac some work boot in green/brown another one in the caramel color and these now in the smoke, cool color, not brown, not black perfect. I can't love them more! Totally worth the money.

Honestly I don't think I can effectively communicate just how these boots look, feel and soothe tired feet. I have very hard to fit feet and at one time I felt destined to be in Danskos forever. Don't get me wrong Dansko makes a great product but for me they just aren't the shoe/boot that helps me to express outwardly how I feel inside. The Frye Carson Shortie does just that. Due to a moderate bunion on my right foot I ordered the boot in a size 1/2 larger. It's crazy, but when they came and I put them on I felt as though they were custom made for my feet. I ordered them in Dark Brown. If you are thinking about buying a pair of Frye Boots, the Carson Shortie would not disappoint!

No frills, just plain classic style. The fit was off the first few wearings, but gets better, just like my other Fryes. I can wear the brown with anything, it's dark enough to look a little formal, but not so much. A black pair would probably be more dramatic, but not the look I'd be going for. You can never go wrong with Fryes and Zappos!

Beautiful boots. Very comfortable, almost like slippers. Did not have any issues getting them on. Whiskey antique leather is soft and has a great color. Size is typical of Frye boots. Width is same as most Fryes.

These, along with the Billy Shootie and the Carmen Harness Short, were some of the first Fryes that I ever bought. I saw on the website that there was so much choice within the "flat booty" selection. I still had my eyes on the Riders, but my eyes quickly zeroed in on the Carson Shortie. I liked the higher (if I can say that, considering it is a flat boot) heel than the others, the bubble toe, the shape of the flaps at the top and the design of the shoe. These things combined persuaded me to go with the Carson Shortie. And it is a decision I will not regret. I got my usual size (8½) and it is perfection, with breathing room to boot as the rounded lengthy toes gives more toe space. There is also room around the instep, without the shoe being too loose. I love that I can just chuck these on and go. They are comfortable to wear and comfortable to walk in. These are my favorite Fryes ever along with the Carmen Harness. I loved the Carson Shortie so much in dark brown that I got another pair in black. If you are looking for a flat bootie, I would go with these. They just do not disappoint.

Love these boots. I also have them in black leather. They're both absolutely beautiful; the picture doesn't do them justice. Buttery leather, no break-in required. Order true shoe size. As always, Zappos rules!

These boots were chosen on the basis of the color and my trust in sturdy Frye boots from having worn them many years ago. These are the new Frye's, even more stylish than ever. They have many more colors to choose from also. I highly recommend them.

Wonderful color and style. Finally, a pair of boots that lasts more than one season and is designed in such a way to promote longevity in wear. In the past I've bought boots which last one season and cost around $100, so Frye actually saves me money since they have staying power. Frye is now my favorite shoe line.

So after about 45 minutes of narcissistic gazing, I've finally dragged myself away from the mirror long enough to write a review. I got these in pink because they go with everything. My black, brown, and gray coats look fabulous. They fit terrifically outside of my skinny pants, and I can't wait to see them with dresses. They are beautiful and so comfy. I ordered them a 1/2 size down from my usual 8 to a 7 1/2 and I am so happy. My heel is staying right in place, but I have plenty of room for my toes to not get all crunched up. These make my legs look amazing (if I do say so myself) and I've never felt so chic. I'm a flats girl , so the heel on these is a little high, but I love it! These are worth every penny and I'm a poor college student. I have a feeling I'll be spending more of my paychecks on other colors/styles because I am very impressed! Sorry, I need to get back to the mirror now.

These boots are beautiful- the color, the fit, everything. I was a little concerned about what other reviewers had to say about the boot's fit-I have an average width foot-but I found that they were easy to put on and pretty darn comfortable. Buy them!

These boots are absolutely my favorites of all time! They're comfortable, the color is fabulous and they fit great. The leather is soft and dreamy. They look marvelous with jeans and skirts. I've never had so many compliments on a pair of shoes or boots, buy them, they're worth every penny!

Love the eggplant color! Great Frye quality. Short version nice change of pace from tall boots. Would highly recommend!
