Gorgeous boot! I don't know why people are saying they are hard to pull on, they have tabs inside for boot pulls that make it very easy to get them pulled on. They stand up if they fit snugly around the calf. These boots are good for people with smaller calves. Very comfortable.

I was so excited to get these boots and just like all my other Fryes, these were even better than their picture! The heel is just the right size for city walking, the leather is buttery soft. I have skinny calves and the boots look great on them, just right with jeans. I ordered the Sand color and was happily surprised that it's a bit darker than the photo.
Will say, the boots are a devil to get on! I would recommend skinny legs and hose rather than socks. Once on, you won't want to take them off! Another gorgeous pair of Fryes, I wouldn't wear anything else!

A gorgeous well-made boot. This boot is loose around the ankle area and tends to increasingly slouch with movement. Very soft leather.

These boots are the most beautiful color. I had to put them on as soon as I got them.
They leather is high quality, as you can expect from Frye, and they are so comfortable. They are going to go so well with spring dresses, and you can pretty much wear them year-round.
Great purchase and the price was right on. And, Zappos shipped these to me in a DAY!

The Rory is practical boot - it looks great scrunched down or pulled up. The boots look great with dresses, skirts, and pants. They can be dressy or casual. I have skinny calves (14 inches around) and the Rory is one of few boots that don't look really wide on my legs (when the boots are pulled up). The Rory also has room for my toes and the ball of my foot. I first got the Rory Scrunch Boot in black, and then ordered in tan. The tan leather has more structure in it, while the black leather is very soft. Others have written that the boot is hard to get into and I agree - the black boot was hard to get on. However, the tan boots were no problem. I have tried on lots of Frye boots and shoes recently, and have found the Frye sizing to be consistent. I wear a size 9 to a size 10 generally. In all Frye boots and shoes, I am a 9.5.

I love these boots; they are the perfect color BUT are very hard to get on. I had to order a 1/2 size larger than my normal shoe size just to get them on. Once on they are a little big for me, but I had to make sacrifices in order to keep them. My normal size 8.5 were great once on, but were virtually impossible to get on since there isn't a zipper. They are beautiful though.

I love these boots! I bought mine a year ago - at which time I was unsure if splurging on the price was worth it. After a year of wear, mine have held up beautifully and they are by far the most comfortable boots ever! The leather is buttery soft and the quality is extraordinary. Make sure to condition the leather periodically - if you don't, the leather won't look as beautiful and supple. My only complaint about these boots is that they are truly slouch boots - when you have them on, they do not look the way they do in the picture. Mine are so slouchy that they are almost short boots, which is not always the look I want with skirts. However, they stay "tall" if you wear them over jeans. Some reviewers complained that these are hard to get on - they're almost like putting a pair of stretch boots on, so you have to wiggle your foot and ankle around and know that they aren't slide-on boots. Be gentle with the leather and be patient when putting them on! It's helpful to hold the boot by the ankle part to work your foot into the base. Frye boots also tend to run large; however, I went with my usual size, so there is a little extra wiggle room in the foot. They are worth the price, the minor difficulty to get on, and the quality means that these will last for years to come!

The sand vintage leather color is darker than it appears in the picture. It is more of a light/medium brown color. Also, it runs big. I am normally a 7 and I need a 6 in this boot. Otherwise, very cute and comfortable.

I finally found the perfect boots! I have extremely skinny calves, and most boots look really stupid on my leg, as if I'm a little girl playing dress up. It bugs me that you can search (on Zappos and many other sites) for "wide calf" boots, but you cannot search for "thin calf" ones. Not fair. Anyway, these are ideal. The only trouble is getting them on the first time. If you have a high instep, it ain't easy. The light tan color is gorgeous. The do "scrunch" a little bit, but not a lot, so they look great on the leg with tights and a skirt. Also, get a half size smaller than your normal in Fryes, I find. I'm in heaven. At last.

I absolutely LOVE this boot...and would love to order it! But, unfortunately it is out of stock in my size.
I recently ordered the Jane Stitch, and the calf circumference was huge. Had to return them. I have small calves and it makes it nearly impossible to find boots that fit properly.
I wish Frye, and other companies, would make more boots with narrow calf measurements. Please! There are so many boots I love (especially Frye), but I just can't wear them because the calf is way too big. Please make more Rory boots!!!

I received my boots yesterday in Vintage Sand, a beautiful color that all my girlfriends love so much that they had to purchase them. The fit is perfect, true to size (8). Comfortable all day long. Zappos delivered the next day, you go Zappos!

This is a beautiful boot. Like most Fryes, they run about half a size big (I generally wear a 7.5 but ordered a 7 and the foot length was good). However, the top of the boot is very tight...so tight that I was unable to pull the boot all the way up my calf. So, if you've got muscular or larger calves, this may not be the boot for you.

Finally! After trying on 30+ pairs of boots, I found one that fits. These boots don't have a ton of arch support but I've found they're breaking in well, and I love the color. Although they do scrunch slightly, the shaft stays up in general and is very soft. I am so happy to have found boots that aren't enormous around the calves.

I did a lot of research before buying these because I have skinny legs and didn't want a boot that looks like a hula hoop around my calf. These sounded perfect but for the reviews indicating how hard they are to get on and the popping of the back seam (due to the difficulty in getting them on). I have a high instep (so much so that even some socks are difficult to put on), the ball of my foot is a medium width, my heel is very narrow (so much so that I mostly wear clogs and sandals to eliminate heel blisters), and I wear a size 8. I took a leap of faith and ordered these (not from Zappos because I could not get my size in black - and that was another leap of faith - I haven't bought shoes anywhere but Zappos in years!)in a size 7.5. Anyway, long story short: I love them! There is a slight hesitation as my instep slides into the boot, but with thinnish SmartWool socks, I would not call it a problem. I've only had the boots a week, so we'll see how the seam holds - but for now I am feeling pretty good about my chances. My only small quibble with the boot is that it is a bit clunkier than I wanted/expected - but overall I am still very happy with them.

I love these boots, but am on my second pair. I have them in the burnt red and they are beautiful. The first pair I received, however, took me about 45 minutes to put on! As others have said the area just above the heel was way too tight to get my foot through. After two times wearing them, the boot had pulled apart slightly along the back seam. I called and had a second pair before I ever even sent the first pair back. My second pair is great! Much easier to get on! I couldn't believe the difference! Hopefully these will last, because I love the style, fit, look of the boots!

Worth the money. Awesome style. A little hard to put on! I wear a 7 but in this boot 6 fits best. Does run big.

I just received these boot in the mail yesterday and they are fabulous! I ordered them in burnt red and I've never seen such beautiful shoes. I love the rich dark red color. The big problem with the Rory is that they are tricky to put on. It initially took me half an hour to figure it out. The shaft is fairly narrow. I can pull them all the way up, but they just barely go over my calves (I have muscular calves about 14.25" circumference. It is very difficult to tuck jeans into the boot, I can only wear the boots as a slouch with jeans. The leather is very soft and flexible. Other reviewers worried about the seam coming apart, but I see no sign of that, the Rory is made of a soft, but thick durable leather, but if you have large calves, that would be a problem. Finally, I have to say Zappos is incredible! I ordered this boot after midnight yesterday and received it the same day, as Zappos promises delivery before Christmas!

I absolutely love these boots. Very high quality leather with a great saddle color. They fit extremely well and look great with skinny jeans tucked in them. Really classic heel and toe so I know they will always be in style. I highly recommend them!

So disappointed. I opted for the Rory Scrunch in an 11. It arrived, beautiful boot, so excited, and it's huge -- more like a size 12. I am going to try a size 10. Keeping fingers crossed. Love Zappos and the wonderfulness of being able to return so easily.

I absolutley love these boots! I always wear a size 7½ but with these boots I needed a 7. They are hard to get on at first but after the first 4 or 5 wearings they slip right on. They have two pulls on the inside to help with pulling which I did not notice until a friend told me. These are awesome especially for my super skinny calfs which cause me to struggle to find a boot that I am not swimming in. This was a splurge but totally worth it as I will wear them for years. I get tons of compliments too! Buy them you will be happy you did!

I tried 3 different styles of Frye black boots and these were the winner. They are so comfortable I can wear them all day with lots of walking. Look great with skirts, dresses, jeans tucked in or out. I think I am going to love these boots for a long time.

Love these boots! They are absolutely beautiful and the stacked heel is very comfy. What makes the style work is the fact that they scrunch nicely around the calves, but the ankle is still slim and flattering. They look beautiful with skirts or under bootcut jeans; I'm not a skinny jean girl so can't comment on that option. The soft scrunchy calf also makes the upper deliciously flexible and comfy, even with a bootie style sock. The quality, like any other Frye boot I've ever seen, is superb. They were a little more than I wanted to spend, but I will wear these for a lot longer than I could have done with something cheaper so I figure they're a good investment. Yes, these boots are looser than my other Fryes of the same size, but because other reviewers mentioned difficulty getting these on I decided to keep them as is and just insert a gel pad in the ball of the foot. That gives me the option of wearing a thicker sock, too, which is nice.

These boots are really nice. They\'re great with skirts and dresses or jeans, scrunched or not. I found them a little hard to get on at first, but other than that, they fit fine. I loved them so much I got a pair in dark brown and black.

The Frye Rory Scrunch Boot is beautiful and comfortable. The height and shape of the heel sold me on this boot. It looks great with pants and skirts. Yippee!
