These are wonderful boots, stylish and beautiful. Unfortunately mine came with a tear in the leather that was not fixable. Zappos has the best return policy! They took them right back and refunded me because they didn't have any more in stock. I had to go through a different website to get them in my size. My only complaint is that they are super hard to get on without a zipper. I have narrow slender size 8 feet and they only work with a certain type of sock and I get them on at a very specific angle! It's comical! Great boot - don't bother if you have a high arch!

Awesome boot! True to size. Only drawback - shaft has no structure, the boot does not stand up like in the picture, it scrunches up a lot. Just not what I was after.

Takes TLC to get my foot down into "shoe" of boot - being careful not to tear the ultra soft, delicate leather upper "sock". I have to gather/grasp the delicate "sock" leather scrunched in my fist (in order to distribute the pulling pressure around the leather to avoid tearing it), & then wiggle my foot down into the shoe. Once on, they fit perfect. 2 ways to wear - Up, shapely, hugging my calves, or slouched/scrunched down. Be aware: this is not a "real" boot - rather, it's a sturdy "shoe", with a soft, thin leather "sock" sewn on. Upper "sock" is incredibly supple & buttery - absolutely no structure of its own. In person, the boot doesn't stand as pictured. It simply falls to the side at the ankle. Shoe portion is extremely comfy & wearable, but the saggy "sock" upper leather looks & feels weird unless I wear it pulled up over my calves. Personally I don't like the "slouch". Great for an occasional dress boot, not everyday wear. I'm so afraid the upper leather "sock" is going to tear with pulling boot on/off. I bought this boot in Black, 2nd hand (barely worn) & am happy with it. Would have definitely returned it immediately had I purchased it new retail.

Second pair ordered and these I was able to keep. Quality is beautiful and the color is to die for. Trouble getting them on but once my foot was in the boot they were fine. The top of the boot is very narrow and I have to push it down more than I like for the scrunch. Like other reviewers have said, don't know whose feet these boots are made for. Overall happy I finally have a pair of Frye.

I love these boots. I got them in Sand and they're the perfect color. I saw them, wanted them, and dropped not-so-subtle hints (the most persuasive one being that these were on a huge sale) that I wanted them for Christmas. When I opened them, it was pure joy! I heard from others that these go on easier with pantyhose socks and so there wasn't too much of a struggle. Once I had them on, I seriously wanted to sleep in them (they were that comfortable). All that being said, when I pulled them on for the second wearing, one of the pull tabs came off in my hand. This would be more understandable if I was yanking or pulling hard; but I wasn't. Now I'm sad and worrying that maybe other people's reviews about stitching coming apart might be true for me too. Not sure if it that's a returnable offense yet. (Yes, that's how much I love them.)

These are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. I have them in 2 colors I liked them so much. I have really thick calves and getting them over the fatty part takes a tug but otherwise perfect!

This is a gorgeous boot. Love the shape of the toe; love the height of the heel, and the leather feels fantastic. Unfortunately, maybe because the leather is so soft, they just didn't stay up. Scrunched down around my ankles something awful. I should mention that I only wore them with tights or under jeans. Maybe they'd stay put better over jeans.

Really great boot, but just about impossible to get on. Like the other reviews said, the opening at the crook of the boot is simply too small. Once I managed to get them on, they felt a little big. They also slouch quite a bit. Not a bad look if that's what you're going for, but they will probably not look like they do in the picture. The shaft leather is very buttery but thin and supple, so there is not enough support for it to stand up on its own.

So I had been looking at these boots for quite some time and finally got them for Christmas! When I first opened the box, I thought, Wow these boots are amazing! They truly are just what I had been looking for. Like others on here, the first time putting them on...very difficult. But once I got them on...well, let's just say it was worth the initial struggle! I love these boots and have worn them every day since I got them. They get easier to put on as you go because the leather stretches. I wouldn't recommend these for individuals with larger calves, because I have rather thin legs and putting them on the first time was super tough. Other than that, they are the perfect boot. Ladies, get them while they're on sale!

This is a really nice looking shoe. It has a heel, but not too high so that you can't walk around a hilly city like SF. The only downside is that, like the other reviewers, I am concerned the leather above the heel will rip, because there is no zipper opening in the boot. The leather seems of nice quality but may be too soft and stretchy for a boot with so little room to maneuver your foot into it. All said and done, I decided to keep the boot because it is just too cute and flattering with dresses to send back to Zappos!

These boots are very attractive, light weight, easy to pack and comfortable the very first day I wore them. I could walk for miles in them and still look good.

These boots are super comfortable. However, due to the fact that there is no zipper, and they are super soft, the back of these boots eventually rip.

Beautiful, but scrunch may not be my style. These boots are really well-made, as are all Frye products. Soft and comfy, however, I found the scrunchiness was just a little too much for me. The leather is truly "buttery" but looks just a little too limp on my calf. I am 5'3" and 104, so I don't have unusually large calves; however, I have been a distance runner most of my adult life, so they aren't exactly skinny either. These look good when I first put them on, but soon sag a bit. The top of the boot fits nicely without much gap at all, but after being on for a short while, they scrunch just a bit too much for my taste. I know that is what they are supposed to do, but I just don't think it is my style. Don't like looking in the mirror and seeing wrinkles around my calves. I normally wear a solid size 7, but went with a 6.5 and it was just right, so I would suggest you go with at least a half size down if this is your style. Watch the video to get a true idea of how this boot looks on. Note, getting them on is a bit of an effort. You really need to work to get them past the heel (not uncommon), but once you do, they are quite comfy, so don't give up. My experience has been that it gets easier to slip them on. I just didn't like the "wrinkled" look. I suppose a larger calf would keep them sleeker. I didn't try jeans tucked in, but that would help as well. Unfortunately, I wanted these for jeans, skirts and little black dresses. Not quite right for all three, but a beautiful boot nonetheless! Thanks to Zappos, I'm still trying.

I liked the overall look and the ability to wear scrunched or pulled up, but as others have noted...it's hard to get these boots on! The only way I could easily slip them on was barefoot. To get them on with socks I had to go up a full size, and then my foot was swimming in the footbed. Back they went. Thanks Zappos for the easy return.

Very sad they didn't work for me. I got these boots for Christmas and they ripped in the back the 2nd day I tried them on. I had a hard time the first time getting them over my ankle. If you have a high instep, I would avoid these boots. The quality was there but I think they are a poor design.

The leather is lovely, the fit is not. The size 11 was HUGE, so I ordered a 10. The instep of the 10 is so narrow, only in thin socks was I able to get my narrow foot through. Once I got them on the boot was loose. I walked around the house hoping I was mistaken; I wanted these boots to fit, but they don't. I give up. I am now officially over getting new boots.
