Love these! These are such an improvement over the Gel-Nimbus 10s. There are no overlays causing pressure points and the shoe is very light. I use them with my custom orthotics. I've been running 35+ miles/week in them for 2 months now. I'm buying another pair in case they decide to tinker with perfection and change this model.

These shoes seem fine but felt a bit short for the size. Too bad, because I like the looks.

I usually am a huge Asics fan. These are good but not great for my foot. Something in the new offset top-lacing bothers my foot. Plus I over pronate and these seem to encourage rather than help. Comfy enough, but not like my previous favs.

I am very pleased with these shoes. I had given up my daily workout, because I had so much hip and lower back pain due to high arches. These shoes have gotten me moving again, pain-free! I received them within a week of ordering, and they were in perfect condition. My only complaint is that they are a bit pricey.

This is my second pair of Asics, the previous being an older Cumulus from a couple of years ago. I switched from Ryka and Avia who changed their styles to the extent that they no longer suited my feet or tendency to under-pronate, which is hard on the knees. I am a moderate under-pronator, or supinator, and am very heavy at 230 pounds on a 5'2" frame. I wanted a shoe that would support me in a walking fitness program and after reading tons of reviews I thought this would be a good choice. If the price of this shoe is hard to swallow, a great alternative is the Saucony Grid Fusion 2, also great for under-pronators. This shoe provides moderate arch support. One thing to note is that this shoe runs slightly narrower in the toebox than the Saucony Grid Fusion, but only slightly. I like to feel that my shoe is snugly on my foot without cutting off circulation and like that the tongue of the Asics Cumulus 11 is nice and thick at the top, near where you tie your shoe laces in a bow. So it lets me loosen the lace near the toes and tie firmly near the top of my foot.

I bought a pair of Gel Nimbus last year. Absolutely loved them! Great running shoes. I really don't like the Gel Nimbus II as much. The changes they made don't fit my foot as well. They seem to be wider than the first models. My heel slips a little and the lacing is done differently on this shoe so I can't seem to get it as tight. It's a fine shoe, just not quite right for my foot and I'm not running as much as I was last year so it's okay for short 3 mile and then cross training.

As a habitual exerciser, I go through a pair of these shoes every month or month and a half. I continue to buy the latest incarnation of the Gel Nimbus because I have found it to be the best shoe that both hugs my disproportionately narrow heels and offers serious cushion and a roomy toe box without added irritating seams. Though I continue to wear holes in the back of the heels as my foot is not entirely held in place at the ankles, the break-in period and blister problem is minimized (and I get some whopper blisters on the back of my heels with the wrong shoe). They are definitely worth a try if you have a similar fit issue. I did not give the shoe a 5-star rating because, though it is close, it is still not perfect for me.

Was running in the kayano for a while until someone told me the nimbus was for a more neutral runner. (I’m kind of a beginner, so cut me a little slack.) Honestly it feels a little heavy and the "nimbus" label toward the heel on the outside of the shoe is adhered rather sturdily and actually rubbed a raw spot on the outer sides of both of my feet in the beginning. After breaking in, they are working out ok, no major issues to report in terms of comfort or wear. They are only my second pair of Asics, so I don’t have anything bad to say about them, but I didn’t really find anything spectacular about them either. Zappos on the other hand is AMAZING and I LOVE their service!!!

This is my second pair of Asic Gel Nimbus II. As an RN in an Emergency Department I walk miles a day at work. I also am lucky enough to have chronic plantar fasciitis and find that these shoes have the very best cushioning for my feet as I walk, (and sometimes run), 12 hour shifts. They are light and I like the asymmetrical lacing. My feet are wide and I think I can get a better fit. I switch out with a pair of Nike Vomero shoes but I most often prefer these. As long as they make them I will keep on buying them.I wish they came in brown or black so I could wear them with more dressy outfits, too.

Shoes are very comfortable but they are much narrower in the toe box then my previous 6 pairs of Asics (previous Asics were various styles, none of them were Nimbus). In fact, the Nimbus is too narrow for me. So please make sure you spend some time with them on your feet before cutting off the tags. I can't wear mine.

I like these shoes. I use them for work & the gym. The only problem I have had is they squeak a lot with my orthotics! This drives me crazy.

Very comfortable, light-weight shoes...just not real impressed by the way the shoe strings seem to not be centered. Other than that I like them.

These start out as great shoes. They have excellent padding in the heel and a wide toe box. A big plus is that they lost the funky overlay from the Gel Nimbus 10, which was tearing up my toenails. I logged exactly 254 miles in the shoes; I bought them on 08-03-2009 (today is 09-29-2009), so almost 2 months ago. I run an average of 30 miles per week (110 lbs, 5'). I feel like the cushion has already worn away in the heels and they are now contributing to pain in my calf and knee. I just bought another pair, so we'll see how they compare to each other. If they truly are worn out, I feel like they should have lasted much longer than this.

I never used to wear wide shoes, but apparently I need them now with the way shoes are cut so narrow in the toe box nowadays. I need a wide width just for my right foot, my big toe rubs and the bone on the outside of my foot near my pinky toe is wide and is sensitive. The good people at Zappos running department worked with me and we tried all of these: the women's Gel Nimbus 11 size 9.5 wide ("D"), women's Gel Cumulus size 9.5 wide ("D"), mens size 8 Nimbus 11 in wide (EE), men's Nimbus 11 size 8 double wide (4E), women's Nike Vomero wide (D) 9.5. I was surprised that the wide widths aren't much wider than the regular widths because the toe boxes are not round. The women's Gel Cumulus wide was actually wider in the toe box than any, outside of the Nimbus mens double wide, and was super comfortable with the soft mesh on the outsides. But it has a "bar" across the forefoot that hurt my foot so bad after 20 minutes on the treadmill that I couldn't run for two days. The women's Nimbus wide was almost identical in every measurement to the men's Nimbus wide even though it should have been a lot wider. The big toe area had room, but both of these were still snug on my bone on the outside of my foot and my bony area hung over the sole by about 1/4 inch. The material on the side is more of a solid vinyl compared to the Cumulus. The Nike Vomero was the least roomiest and most narrow and just fit funky. I finally settled on the men's Nimbus 11 in double wide, but had to go down a half size to a 7.5. I can buy Keen shoes without any problems, but I'm buying a double wide in running shoes (?). These double wide Nimbus 11's have a bit too much volume in the toe box for me and I have a little pucker at the place where the tongue meets the front of the shoe, but I don't care at this point. My feet are inside the sole of the shoe and my toes can wiggle. They are as soft and cushy as anything I've ever had so I love them. I depend so much on these reviews on this site so I hope this long response will help others.

These have to be the ugliest shoes I have ever seen. My first pair of Asics. Have to rethink their style colors. Look good in picture, horrible on. The cushion is not as good as I thought they would be. From the reviews, I expected much more. They do run small, and are a little narrow. Too snug for me. Couldn't wait to get them off. Why is a regular size 8 so hard to find? And what's with the skimpy material around the foot? Laces have at least a 2 finger space between the laces? I do not have a wide foot but I can see trying these in a larger size and in wide! At least I could get a better grip on the laces and actually have some left over to tie! No wiggle room. Arch support is fine. Will be returning these for sure.

This shoe is nice looking but it's too wide and I have wide feet so I can only imagine for a person who does not. My feet slide around in the front and I have to tie them really tight for that not to happen and that makes it uncomfortable. I would not recommend them.

These shoes have lots of cushioning in them. I started running and bought these and when I first got them they rubbed blisters on my little toes. Gradually they got better and better, but I continued to alternate with other shoes and not wear these all the time. I wore these asics a little more and more, but as my mileage increased, when I reached 4-5 miles or more, they still rubbed blisters on my little toe which eventually turned into a blood blister. I think maybe if I had bought a half a size larger, these would be perfect, but I am afraid to spend another $140 or so to find out.

Very disappointed - I had the Nimbus 9 and they were the best shoes ever. I got the 10's and was disappointed that they did not have the same cushioning. I decided to give it one more try with the 11's and I think they are even harder than my 10's. I think I am going to return them.

I've worn the Gel Nimbus for 7 years now and feel this number 11 series is the worst. It's the first time in 7 years that I haven't liked the Nimbus. It fits 1/2 size smaller and overall doesn't have the same cushion, stability, comfort or fit it used to have. I'm disappointed. I plan on trying out the Gel Kayano next time.

Discovered the Nimbus on Gen 9 and thought they were the best walkers/runners ever! So cushy and soft and felt like a custom fit. Wore them to threads and finally had to let them go. Nimbus 10s were okay, but not as cushioned as 9s. Wore them out, too. Now on to 11s, okay, they're hard. Is it just me, or is every generation getting less cushioned? They still fit well and I'll keep them, but if this trend doesn't change I'm done with the Nimbus. I wear an 8.5 shoe normally, and a 9 in these fits me perfectly.

Unfortunately, these shoes did not work out for me. I found that the toe box was much to big for my forefoot and my foot slid around inside the shoe too much for comfort. The heel was also very loose. However, the shoe had excellent cushioning and seemed well constructed. The Ascics Cumulus 11 turned out to be a better shoe for me.

Not up to par with my expectations -
Before I had purchased the shoes, I read up on tons of reviews, and the majority of them had praised the shoe on its comfort, stability and overall looks compared to previous nimbuses. The first time I tried them on, they felt stiff, but I thought I just had to break them in. First run was okay, but it just got worse over time. I had terrible shin splints and had to go back to my Adidas shoes. Overall, not impressed!

Returned!
Bought this shoes because I loved my Nimbus 10 but this shoes was terrible! I'm a long distance runner but after 5 miles I had shin splints and knee pain. The heels and shoe box were too wide and I felt like my foot was flopping around in the shoe the entire run. There was no cushion and no support. Terrible fit, terrible run. Went back to my Cumulus I was using before I bought the Nimbus 10.

Where’s the Gel? There is not much cushioning in these shoes at all, they are nothing like the Gel Nimbus 10s which are super cushioned! I would not recommend these if you are looking for well cushioned runners. The only thing these got going for them is that they’re cute.

After reading all the amazing reviews of this shoe, despite the price, I ordered these shoes expecting great things. After I wore them once, my knees and back hurt so bad I had to take a week off from working out. To say the least, I was devastated. But I thought maybe it was just a fluke. So I waited until I felt better, and tried again. This time the balls of my feet burned to the extent, that once again, I had to take time off from working out. I seriously contemplated returning the shoes and moving on. But I persevered. I have since "broken in" the shoes, but am still disappointed in them. I think I'll keep them, but prefer Nikes. Good luck to those who buy these; hope they work out better for you!
