An exceptionally wide and extremely comfortable shoe. The best wide shoe I've ever found. I've ordered several pairs.

Everything I have wanted in a shoe, I have found in these shoes. Having broken my ankle a few years ago, and my foot not healing correctly, my foot swells, thus my requiring an extra wide shoe. These are the best I have ever had, and I will be getting an other pair to be sure I always have the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.

These are wonderful shoes. They were true to size and I wear a 10.5 EE. I work standing on hard floors all day and was able to wear them right out of the box without any problems at all. They're also excellent shoes for walking. I've been buying the NB 900 line for quite a few years and always have been very happy. Usual shipping is only 2 days, but with excellent service from Zappos I ordered them on a Sunday and had them delivered Monday afternoon.

Overall, these are nice walking shoes. I have decided to wear them without socks, since they are a bit tight, and I am afraid the next size larger or wife would be too big. I purchased them because I had plantar fascitis and it was painful to walk in the shoes I was wearing. I was able to walk very comfortably in these and have continued to wear them after my foot was better.

Best shoe I have ever bought from New Balance, but could be much better than this. I was missing padding at the front for the shoe, and the heel area crushed despite the much touted Roll Bar. The upper did hold up great and still have no holes even when I replaced them. I think the 6E was too wide for me, maybe a little narrower next time. My foot would move around too much inside the shoe and began to roll, twisting my ankle sometimes when falling off the sole.

Love the shoes and glad to be able to shop for wider shoes. W926 were a little bit more comfortable but too early to tell. I swear by the roll bar system.

I've had a lot of trouble with finding shoes for my large, and now, wide feet. I use these with fitted arch supports, 1/4" special "rubber" insoles and they have saved my life in regards of being able to walk comfortably. My one dislike of this shoe is the narrow lined tread design picks up and holds pebbles until they wear down. A more open tread line would perhaps prevent that.

No one can beat Zappos' outstanding service! I attempted to order this in all four colors in 6E, only to find 6E is not made in Brown or Grey. I got a 6E in White, which fit perfectly, but did not like the color. I ordered the same size in Black, only to find a couple seams causing hot spots on the left shoe. I do wish Zappos would not allow the software to show a 6E being offered and will notify you when it is available, when the NB company does not even make the shoe in those sizes. The most comfy of all the colors I tried is the soft grey shoe in 12 4E. Also interesting to note, I've only bought Nike 13D's for the past eight or more years. They change the models every year and the same shoe no longer fit in the same size, if at all, due to modifications. I have eight pair of Nike 13D's that fit as well if not better than the NB 11 1/2 6E. I would also like to see an option to donate to Zappos to do as they wish, in appreciation for the money spent on expedited shipping and then not being able to keep the shoes. I am extremely difficult to find a shoe that works with my spine related nerve damage and wide, painful feet. The search continues.

These shoes are much uglier in person. However, I have to say that these are probably one of the best overall shoe values I have ever purchased. They fit great, were perfectly comfortable from the very first time I put them on, and are extremely durable. I am an ER nurse and bought these for work. I wear them for 40-50 hours a week of non-stop action. I have always liked NB's but never have been willing to buy the expensive one's. The cheaper pairs never last more than 4 or 5 months. As of next week I will have been wearing these 927s for a full year and they show no signs of falling apart! Yes, they're uglier than ever, but I think I can probably get another 6 months out of them. That will mean that even though they cost almost twice what I usually pay, they will have lasted 5 times as long! I guess you get what you pay for. I also like that New Balance still manufactures a good portion of their products in the USA.

The EE version of this shoes is definitely of the wide variety, unlike some other brands\/styles. It could be a little more cushiony, but with an added gel insert, it serves well.

This is a very comfortable shoe. I have a wide foot and very high arches. Diabetic and feet worn by years working on concrete floor. I add a Lynco orthotic for extra arch support. I abuse these shoes by wearing them at work in my auto shop year round, indoors and out. They get oily, dirty and I bend squat and abuse them every day, so they don't last real long for me, but I have accepted that for their comfort.

It's a decent shoe. I'm used to wearing lousy cheap Wal-Mart shoes, so I expected New Balance to blow my mind. It feels comfortable (but not mind-blowingly so). I've worn these shoes nearly every day since I purchased them in April, 2010.On both shoes at the seam joints just behind the top eyelets, at the top/opening of the shoes, the fabric has worn away and it looks like the padding is showing. Don't know why it would wear in this spot since it does not appear to rub against much (the inside of the bottom of my pants?). Not a big deal, I guess, but overall, I expected better quality. But, I've started exercising (walking) quite a bit and my feet don't hurt anymore, so I gotta give these shoes props in that respect.

This review is two-fold. First, I have been wearing New Balance men's walking shoes for almost 6 years. Currently, I wear MW927s and they are more than adequate. I'm no lightweight fella, but these shoes have proven themselves fully "up to the task"! I buy 2 pairs at a time and alternate wearing them, day by day. They last for months this way! Great shoes! Second, I buy my walking shoes only through Zappos, and they also have proven themselves more than adequate! In this era of gridlock, sluggish responses, "your call is very important to us" (while you age noticeably on your end of the line), Zappos service is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. Beautiful! They really put the "satisfaction" in customer satisfaction.

Shoe is very good for those needing a wide size and pronation control. It is somewhat stiffer and takes a bit longer to break-in than the model 926 it replaced.

Way smaller than stated. The narrow width seems wider than a B width. After you figure out the size, they are good walking shoes.

These shoes are comfortable enough, and fit as well as most New Balance sneakers. However, within a couple weeks of purchasing these shoes, the leather top part started chipping off along the seams.

Good basic shoe, but!... People with big wide feet need comfort and support much as the next guy. These do the job, but they are a bit hard on the front feet. Absolutely no style, but wasn't looking for that. I needed a shoe that was wide, and New Balance always delivers. The roll bar didn't do crap and the shoe's heel crushed in about 2 months. Then the upper started to roll off the side of the sole and boom, dead shoe.

I have been wearing these shoes in the earlier models for about 8 years - always size 16 4E. They have proven themselves tougher and more comfortable than any shoe I ever wore, but the 927 has a different front toe cap that is shorter along the sides than the earlier models. The sewn seam hit right at my little toe and irritated it. Had to send them back. Too bad - I know how good these are and I always keep two pairs on hand. It's not always easy finding 16 4E shoes. I just hope the model 928 comes out different and I can go back to wearing them.

This shoe was recommended by a foot doctor for plantar fasciitis. I've never paid this much for a pair of shoes, so I thought maybe that was the problem. So, I bought these shoes. I'm not sure why this shoe is getting all the raves. They are the most uncomfortable, flat footed, normal shoe that I have ever purchased. I am a big fan of New Balance and NB is all I have owned for several years, so I am not bashing the brand. They would be fine as a normal inexpensive pair of shoes. This was a total waste of money.

This is the third time I've ordered these higher end supportive shoes from Zappos. Three years ago I ordered 926's which lasted 2 years and wore like a glove. I never pronated or had trouble. The replacement 926's lasted just a bit over a year before they wore out but the fit was still very good up until the end. I ordered the replacement model, the 927 in the same size as the 926's and at first they felt like an old friend. After a few weeks though it felt like the instep was stretching or something. I'm now lacing up tighter than ever to hold my foot and the instep is starting to pucker and pinch. I'm not sure if it's the Chinese process or product changing or if the last was changed but I'm going to go a bit slower before ordering shoes like this again. They're worn now so I'm not asking Zappos to take them back, besides what do I replace them with? It's a bit of a problem.

I have worn New Balance walkers for over ten years. My size only comes in white and my wife tired of white. So I tried the 926 and filled it with insole and pads to fit. It was an excellent shoe. I wore two of them for a year each. A year ago I got the 927. From what I read in the other reviews I must have got a lemon. They scuff up much too easily. I polished the 926 every 6 or 7 months. The 927 needed polish every 6 weeks. One of the lace eyelets broke at 5 months, that had never happened before. They fit well with the pads in them. I am still wearing them a year later and the tread is just beginning to show wear which is normal for NB. Every other NB shoe I have owned was a 5 star shoe. This one is not. My 927 was made in China how do I get one made in USA as reviewer did? Also, Zappos is a great place to get shoes.

Zappos may be the easiest and friendliest online site I have ever done business with! I have not worn the shoes enough to give a reliable rating.

Tried these to replace the discontinued 846. I walk about 30 miles a week on concrete. I tried the M 1540 at the same time. The insole had to be removed to accomodate my orthotic. There was an odd discomfort just in front of the ball of my foot at the arch of the toes as I walked which caused me to reject the 927 in favor of the 1540, which did not have this issue whether or not the insole was removed. The styling is better on these as the 1540 has a wide, flat sole that looks kinda clunky. Comfort wins over style!
