Oh man. I got these boots for Christmas today, and already we have a passionate relationship. Not only are they comfortable, but they also look faboo. I have a wide foot, and I generally run between a 10 and 11. These fit perfectly, though I can see how they might be big if you are an exact size instead of in between. The fawn color is darker than depicted, but still very beautiful, and they're beautifully made, of course. The heel is the perfect height for everyday, flattering and comfortable without being too high. The calf width is also fairly perfect - I have pretty muscular calves, and these boots fit well with tights or jeans. The v cut in the front and back is very flattering on my stems. Finally, the leather is very flexible, so it does bunch a bit, but still looks great.

I am super pleased with this boot. I teach, and I am on my feet all day. I usually wear a pair of Superfeet in my boots, but the toe box was too tight to slide them into these boots. I wore them for a long day and was totally fine, even the next morning. I have thicker calves, but the boot fits, tho' just barely. The leather is nice, thick and soft, and the shaft is not the tiniest bit stiff like my Ariat boots. I'm usually a 9.5 or 10, and ordered the 9.5. I might have been able to get away with the 9, but I feel safer with the 9.5.

My very first Frye boots, I love them! My normal size was out so I went with everyone's advice and ordered 1/2 size smaller and they are perfect! Mine are sapphire blue and beautiful. Thank you Zappos for fast delivery and a great price!

I got these in dark brown for my birthday. They are absolutely beautiful! The leather is so soft. I was really worried about sizing because so many people suggest going down a 1/2 size or a full size. I took a chance and ordered than in my regular size. The toe area is a little long (which honestly, I think is just cowboy boot style), but also very narrow. The rest of the boot fits perfectly. I don't think I could have gone down a 1/2 size. If you have a foot that is normal or slightly wider than normal, then I would suggest going with you normal size. The only problem I have is that I'm completely addicted to Frye boots now!

Wow! What's not to love? These are so Nashville/Atlanta/Auburn University. I see them everywhere now. They are cute with skinny jeans or a dress. They do run about a half size big. I just bought a Dr Scholls insert for better arch support (because I usually need it anyway) and Voila! -no problem. Just like other people on here have pointed out, these are not stiff cowboy boots. They are also not as tall as others I have seen/owned, so if you are pretty tall they might not be for you. But give them a try anyway! Also you don't have to have the super skinny calf thing going on to look good in these. Very well made, so worth it.

I love Frye boots and these are no exception. Two surprises -- the upper shaft is soft and a little slouchy, rather than rigid, which is great. Also the blue color is not as intense as shown on the website, just a little more muted. Also a bonus. Frye has spoiled me for lesser-quality boots!!!

The fawn color is not as shown. Its a little darker, and even nicer, in person. These run a little big, but are adorable and of obvious great quality.

Love these boots for that Western touch! They are so well-made, but true to other reviews do run a half-size larger, so had to return my original pair. Ordered this 2nd pair for a punch of color (my other pair is dark brown).

This is my first pair of Frye boots and they are awesome! They boots just arrived today. They cost more than I would like to have paid for 1 pair of boots but the leather is really nice and I can't wait to wear them!

Beautiful boots! Great fit, soft, very well made. Exactly what I was looking for. Can't go wrong with Frye. Pricey but I know I will be able to wear them for 20 years if I want to - they are worth the extra money.

This boot is a bit wider at the top and the height of a "cowboy" boot. It's definitely not as dressy as some other boots. The bottoms are hard, so my feet ache a bit at the end of the day, but otherwise, they are very comfortable. Very cute with pants tucked in, but not great under pants since the wider top makes your calf look wider. I like them and would buy them again. Size felt "true to size" in all regards to me.

Very pleased with boots. Bought size 5.5 and they fit perfectly (I am a 6m normally). Style is classic, but funky with the distressed details, colors (I got berry).

Bought these last autumn in sapphire which is perfect for jeans. Glad to see they now stock these in the shortie style. Wonderful color and style. Finally, a pair of boots that lasts more than one season and is designed in such a way to promote longevity in wear. In the past I've bought boots which last one season and cost around $100, so Frye actually saves me money since they have staying power. Frye is now my favorite shoe line.

I love these boots! It took me a while to find the right size because they run big. I\\\'m an 8.5\\\/9 and ordered a size 7.5 but love them with dresses, tights and skirts and under or over jeans. The leather is beautiful, I ordered Saddle color, and very well made. Definitely boots I\\\'ll have years to come.

I love these boots! I tried to find them in a couple of stores, but had no luck. Went to Zappos and they were at my door in two days, free shipping. Suggest you buy 1/2 size smaller than your normal size.

Love this boot; not a big fan of the antique slate color. It's a little more distressed/flat than I'd hoped for. Will exchange for one of the warm browns.

These boots are quite awesome. I tried them on in a local store and decided to buy them on Zappos because they had the dark brown leather. The leather on the shaft is soft, but stands up on its own and the leather on the toe area is roomy enough so that I don\'t feel like I\'m breaking them in. Before I bought these, I had a hard time wearing cowboy\/western style boots because of the narrow toe, but these are perfect. They have a cowboy\/western look with a normal shoe feel. These are the best shoes I\'ve bought in a while (and I buy many shoes). I have another pair of Frye boots, and I think these are even better. In Frye boots, I wear my normal size, so I wouldn\'t advise going a size up or down in these, as some reviewers mentioned. They are slippery on the bottom, so scuff them up a bit outside before walking on smooth surfaces.

I have been wanting to splurge on a good pair of black boots for over a year now and I have a favorite pair of brown Lucchese and I was uncertain about switching brands, however I have found the style and the fit I was looking for with this boot! It is a great boot with no breaking in. Just pull 'em on and go!

Love this boot! I usually wear 9.5-10, but 9 was the best. It is narrow even for my narrow feet, but I like it like that.

I love these boots! I usually wear either a 6.5 or a 7 so, based on some of the reviews, I ordered a 6.5 and they fit very well with Gold Toe socks (I wear a 7 in the Veronica Shortie). I also ordered a pair of Tony Lama Vaqueros which I didn't even put on for two weeks because these are so awesome. I wear them with jeans and skirts (even my feminine apron skirt from Garnet Hill). I was a bit ambivalent about the tan color when I saw it in person but I received three compliments the first time I wore them! They are very comfortable and require little-to-no breaking in: I wore them to work two ten hour days in a row with no sore feet or legs. Do it ...you know you want to.

These are the best and most comfortable boots I have ever had! They also go with everything! I have a high instep but I was able to get into these in my regular size. If I bought a size smaller like reviewers recommend I would not be able to get them on due to my high instep! I will wear them for years to come. Thanks Zappos! Great neutral color too.

Beautifully made boots. The leather is amazingly soft and they are super comfortable right out of the box. They do run a little big, but I like the extra room for thick socks in the winter. The color is perfect and looks great with almost anything. I love these boots and cannot wait to buy another pair of Frye's very soon!

Worth every penny. I put these on and walked three miles with no pain. I can tell they\'ll get even better as they conform to my foot. I\'m usually a true 9.5, and a 9 fit perfectly. My first pair of Fryes. The Sapphire is even more gorgeous in person and will somehow magically go with everything. Love it!

Finally after ordering 6 pair of these boots I have found the right color and fit. I kept the tan burnished antique leather, 1/2 size smaller than my normal shoe size. Warning if you want a tan boot: the tan burnished antique is an entirely different leather & fit than tan color. Tan burnished antique has a lining making it a stiffer boot; the tan is a buttery soft, unlined shaft that makes more of a "slouchy" fit. Either is great; it's just a matter of preference. And ladies, the Carson boot wasn't made for walkin'...it was made for struttin'!
