Love the shoes. Replaced the innersole like another poster suggested with one I use in all my shoes and they became so comfortable. Most shoes have the innersole glued in, these do not. What a smart move by Mephisto.

As always with Mephisto shoes, light, comfortable and elegant. My last pair is still in use after 8 years and I ordered this new pair out of sheer boredom.

Didn't like the color and the size was too small. I am going to order another color in a bigger size.

Great shoe. I am suffering from Achilles Tendinitis and the built-in support only needed the slightest type of heel lift.

I was looking for that special shoe that you could wear with a pair of jeans and still be comfortable without socks during the warmer months. Well, these are them! Love them. Sizing was accurate and as always Zappos delivers them so fast! I don't know why people still buy shoes by going to the store. With free shipping both ways it doesn't make sense.

Bought these for my husband as a replacement for a pair he loved from llbean. He doesn't seem to want to take these off because they are too comfortable. I found him working in the garage working in them. If only I knew how much I paid for them. Will definitely be ordering another pair.

Excellent shoe. Purchased for trip to Europe and wore extensively right out of the box for several weeks - comfortable and high quality!

I am a huge Mephisto Cap Vert fan. I own three pair. I tried these and they are like wearing slippers. Most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I still like the Cap Verts a lot but I find myself putting my feet in these all the time.

This is my second pair of Mephisto's and will not be my last. These have quickly turned into my favorite brand of shoe. The Edlef is remarkably comfortable right out of the box and they look fantastic. Count me as an extremely satisfied customer with both Mephisto and Zappos.

Easy on, easy off. A little too tight on the instep, but I have high metatarsal bones.

Right shoe feels larger than left. Very little arch support but stiffer between middle to heel. Not enough cushion. Looks so great. It would be great office and driving shoes. Not worth of keeping despite of the cost.

My husband LOVES these shoes. They are extremely comfortable, and very good looking. He looks rather polished when he wears them! He wears them to work (w/trousers) and they also look great with jeans. They are expensive, but I think you get what you pay for.

Generally, I detest loafers. However I needed the right mix of dress-casual-comfortable. The comfort and style are pure franco-phile outstanding. The durability is yet to be determined. Excellent value.

I'm struggling to adapt to this shoe after owning three pair of Mephisto Cap Vert which I love. The Edlef seems narrower and has an uneven heel strike; as if the outside rear corners touch first and the heal rolls. I do like the look and quality, and want to like the Edlef, but slip on my Cap Vert if I want comfort.

Zappos has to change the picture of the Hazelnut color. The color has, unfortunately, changed. It has gone from a Hazlenut to a light tan/beige/sand. The width has also gotten more narrow. It is a nice loafer - but a year ago - the shoe was better constructed and better looking. Total disappointment when compared to what this shoe was only a year ago.

Comfortable enough, but no better than a much cheaper ECCO in both comfort and apparently quality. They also looked slightly more casual (without any added benefit in comfort)

These are beautiful shoes - Mephisto is branching out. However the fit is off from their former sizing. I ordered a 9 from Zappos as reviews suggested a half size smaller than I usually wear (9.5) US. When I put them on they were tight and pinched on the top of my left big toe. I returned them (Thank you Zappos for your great return policy). I wanted to get the 9.5, but Zappos didn't have that size in stock in the Hazelnut color. I got the hazelnut 9.5 from another website and they were way too large, so returned them too (had to pay the return ship on that other site!) I heard that Mephisto changed their assembly manufacturing and hope they can get the sizing corrected. Till then I'm out of luck.

Fit and size were fine. Stitching on one shoe was sloppy and had excess material.

I don’t wear these often and the sole has started to come unglued. Disappointing given the price.

Killed my back. Get him rid of them

I love my Mephisto Howard loafers and think they are the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever owned, and I wanted to like these, but...I didn't like the fit at all. I normally wear a 10, but the 9.5 fit in these. After wearing for about 3 months the shoe was so broken in it was very loose. I tried a 9 and it was very tight and narrow. Something about the for just wasn't right. The arch support could be better and it just wasn't that comfortable for such an expensive shoe.

First of all...the Edlef is a good looking shoe. I have purchased several pairs over the years in size 9 1/2. They have a tendency to run a half size large. This time I purchased a size 9 and in the box were 8 1/2's. That being said, the size marked on the box was correct, but the shoes inside did NOT match the box and they were NOT what I ordered.
