A great pair of shoes

So comfy. Like wearing slippers to work.

Mephisto has been known for comfortable, long-lasting shoes for some time. I owned a pair that served me very well in travels for several years before my wife at the time made me donate them to charity because they were less than stylishly attractive ("ugly" in her words). Fast forward to my new retirement job as a Luxury Suites Concierge with the S. F. Giants, and needing a pair of black dress shoes that are comfortable for 8+ hours of walking and standing. I read an online article about comfortable men's dress shoes, and it didn't include these. I was leaning toward a pair of Cole Haan's, still using some of the Nike technology, and then saw these on Zappo's. I thought I'd give them a try. Although the fit seems a little "squishy," that is, there might be a bit too much movement of my foot inside the shoe, they recommend having some space in the toe at least to let the specialized comfort sole do its work. So far, I haven't gotten blisters, although it feels like there's that danger. Just full disclosure. These are beautiful shoes, especially for Mephistos. Though not inexpensive, they will, I hope, be entirely suitable (if not perfect) for the job. I'm very tempted to get a pair in the dark brown, too ;-).

Bought for my husband as a Holiday gift, he loves the shoes! Says they are super comfortable and look great. Mephisto are one of his favorite brands.

These shoes are comfortable;and accommodate my orthotics, which is an important factor for me. The leather is smooth, the fit is good, and it's the shoe I was hoping this would be.

Beautiful well made shoes in the normal fine craftsmanship of Mephisto! One size too large and had to return. Highly recommended, but be sure to compensate for extra size.

First time ordered my regular size 12 but the shoes were just a shade long. Exchanged by Zappos for 11 1/2 and they were perfect. Love the comfort and feel of shoes. They don't feel heavy on your feet and are great for walking.

I've found that the European sized Mephistos vary in their sizing. I have 2 pairs of the same style in different colors and the size that fit me was different in each.

I was looking for some everyday shoes that I could wear to the office or with a pair of jeans. I ended up ordering both the Edlef and the Adelio from Mephisto to see which I liked better. The Edlef is definitely dressier, though it isn't a dress shoe. It really does fit your foot like a glove, and it's very light, but still feels substantial. Pricey, but absolutely worth it if you're looking for a classy yet comfortable slip-on. Ultimately, I ended up returning the Edlef, because the slightly more casual look of the Adelio was what I needed, but I did it with much reluctance. I really wanted to keep these, and might be purchasing a pair in the future! Kudos to Zappos for the amazingly friendly return & exchange policy too!

These shoes are without a doubt the most comfortable, long wearing shoe my husband has ever owned. He says their like slippers! From the first moment he put them on they have been wonderful.

Gorgeous, comfortable, versatile shoes. This is the second pair I have purchased and plan to buy again in the future. Zappos ships quickly and protects the shoes with their packing.

Nice looking shoes. Sizing seems poor. I wear size 8, but these fall off when I walk. Sorry to have to return them.
