It's beautiful and very comfortable but look more like a waterproof boot than a nice walking boot.

I bought these after a friend pointed ou her two year old pair and told me they were waterproof. They are a touch clunky, but hold up to the outdoor weather and aren't too warm when worn indoors. Great go to boot when it's wet out and a rainboot won't do.

I was looking for a waterproof boot that could be worn here in the muddy northwest, yet be more stylish than a typical "wellie" rubber boot. This seems to fit the bill. I usually wear a 7 1/2, with an occasional 8, and ordered an 8 upon reading reviews. Seems to be the right size. Initially when I tried it on, it was tight to fit my foot in through the ankle, but this loosened up after a couple wearings and it's no problem now. The top of the boot was a little tight when tucking pants in initially, but this has also loosened up. At 12" up, my calf is about 16" in diameter, and I can tuck pants/jeans into the boot. (Again, it's tight initially but able to zip up.) The design is nice - perfect for keeping my pants protected from the mud when tromping around with the dogs, yet stylish enough to wear with leggings and a casual skirt. They are pretty comfortable right off the bat; however, I did wear them on their second use walking on sidewalks for 2 hours. After that the ball of my feet were a touch sore. Added an insert and problem was solved. I looked into a lot of boots for this purpose, and these seem to be perfect. They keep my feet warm and dry in this very wet climate. I think they are comfortable enough and the sole is decent enough to hike around in the woods for a couple of hours, yet they look cute just walking around town, too.

Nice detailing and nipped in at the ankle which is elegant for a leather waterproof boot. Calf opening is too wide and gaps a bit if pants are not tucked in. Roomy fit in the footbed.

Of the five pairs of boots I tried, these are the keepers. I have long been a fan of the Merrell brand and these don't disappoint. I especially like that they aren't to the knee which makes my all ready short legs not look any shorter.

Good looking shoe. Constricted heel makes it too difficult to take off. Fits well in the ankle but too tight in the upper calf. Sorry to return these. Thanks Zappos for shipping it so quickly.

Great for petites! This boot might be too shirt for those with longer calves, but for me they were perfect. I always struggle with boots being too loose up top because they are too long in the shaft, but these hit right at the widest part of my calf without being too tight. Was able to wear them with skinny jeans no problem. Haven't tried them out in wet conditions but a friend who has said they are indeed waterproof. Nice looking, too.

Love these boots! I've worn them in the snow and the definitely keep your feet dry. I did have to wear thick socks to keep my feet warm though. But, all in all, I'm so glad I bought them!

I love these boots -- except they keep falling apart! All the little "buttons" (just there for decoration) have been popping off, and I leave a trail of them wherever I go. Far more importantly, both of the zippers have completely broken and had to be replaced. When I took them to a leather repair store, I was told that they had seen this problem on many shoes of this model (something about a flex point being placed in a stupid spot). Basically, I love the shoes but am so sad that they are not holding up at all well. Merrell customer service has been very helpful with the repairs, but I'm still bummed.

The ankle area is so difficult to get the boot on, even though it has a zipper. After you pull and wiggle and pull, etc; the boot itself is comfortable - but so difficult getting on.

I was so excited when I ordered these boots and they arrived shortly after. The footbed was super comfortable. Unfortunately, they are too snug around my calves, so they had to go back. I don't really consider my calves to be that large, but just athletic. Ladies who have smaller calves will probably be better suited by these boots.

Really great boot. I was worried about breaking them in but I wore them the first day and walked for a few miles with no problems. Are true to size although they did stretch out after a week so I can wear them with thick tights and wool socks. One issue I have is the leather is really soft so it scuffs easily (so you do need to keep up with leather care if this bothers you). Also, since they're soft they don't hold their shape as much as I would like, so there is some slouching near the ankles but even so I would buy these again. Great boot; warm, very waterproof and really comfy.

Love these boots. They are so comfortable that I could wear them all day on the first day I got them without any sore feet or blisters. I live in the pacific northwest so we see a lot of rain, and these boots provide both protection as well as style. They were a perfect fit and true to size. I took a star off only for the fact that they do scratch easily and that may bother some people, but for me it just adds to the look.

This boot is a nice leather waterproof boot. I generally buy Merrells because of the arch support, but this boot has very little, so I went a half up and wear the boots with an insole. Overall, a nice boot -- looks cute with jeans tucked in. Would buy again.

I've read most of the reviews prior to purchasing, and was a little hesitant due to some customers have fit problems around their calves and practically jamming their foot into the boots. Needless to say, I did buy the boots, and I couldn't be happier! I live in Minnesota, and I walk around the University quite a bit. My feet have been dry, although a little cold due to all of the snow. I do wear hiking socks (a little thinner than usual wool socks, but wicks sweat away from my feet) and I do have to force my foot in a little to get it in. Once I have them on, the boots feel very comfortable. Great traction on the snow, and I walk all day in these. Very fashionable as I have received several compliments already.

Really love these boots for the looks, comfort, and they're waterproof, which was the primary reason I picked them. However, after two wearings, one of the buttons came off the top. Taken them several places to try and fix, but they can't match the button exactly. I didn't catch it on anything, so it came off during normal wear. I only wear them now if I'm wearing pants over them, but I got them to wear with skirts/tights because they look good but are waterproof.

Very nice fit, comfortable, and waterproof. But second wearing, the cover of one of the buttons came off. Repaired, but it was pricey for a cosmetic repair and it's not the same color so it's noticeable. Would rather not have them fall apart after so little wear.

I bought these boots a year ago, and I love everything about them except that they have developed a squeak. I can't stand to walk in them now because of the noise. I love everything else about them, however.

This boot had such great reviews, I thought I'd found a winner. The tread actually works for winter and it's supposed to be warm and waterproof. But when I put them on I nearly couldn't zip them they were so tight on my calves. Forget about wearing them over pants - there wasn't even room with tall socks. After wearing them around the house for a bit I was just too aware of my calves being squeezed. I consider myself to have "athletic" legs, but I'm not in the shape I'd like to be yet, and I'm sure that continuing my workouts would only make the boot tighter. So disappointed.

I was at the YMCA , and admired these boot on a ladies feet. I tried on her well worn in boots in a half size to small and was impressed. But, the reality is, these boots are extraordinarily stiff when new and my feet would never survive the process of wearing them in. Back they go. On the positive side I love the style and low heels.

At the moment I bought these boots I was looking for a boot that would withstand rain, snow, and cold weather, but would also look cute enough to wear with sweater dresses or to go out to a pub - and I looked everywhere for that perfect pair of boots. I ended up going for the Tetra Launch because my friend (who lives in Boston) recommended them to me. I was actually very pleased with the boots in regards to comfort, warmth, and style. The only downside is that after walking in them for about three weeks, the back outer corner of the heel wore off and they got too slippery to wear around. This might have been as a result of me doing an inordinate amount of walking, and/or a defect in the shoe. Nonetheless, I exchanged them for a new pair, hoping that I got the short end of the stick and happened to get one with a defect. Overall, I would recommend this boot for its comfort, style, and waterproofing abilities.

I am normally a 7 1/2. Tried those and they are way too small. Exchanged for size 8 and they were way too big. Too bad because they are pretty cute for flat boots.

Beautiful boots, but they are too difficult to put on. Hard to get the heel into the boot and they are just about a half inch too narrow at the top. Would have loved to have kept them but too much work to get on.

After pining for these boots for a few days, I ordered them and waited eagerly (and not long at all) for their arrival. Unfortunately, they do not suit me. They're not as tall as I'd thought (they hit my shins at a weird place), and I nearly pinched my moderately-sized calf muscles while zipping them up. Perhaps they fit short, petite gals better?

I LOVED these boots EXCEPT that the calf was WAY to big (at least 2 inches) in the size 9. I am 5'7" and slender in the calf but these were way bigger than other boots I have tried on. Sadly I will be sending them back.
