LOVE THESE! These are the BEST sandals. I have very high arches and am a very active person (I love to walk, ride my bike) and I don't like when uncomfortable shoes get in my way. These are FANTASTIC. They take a little to break in (2 weeks or so of a little walking every day), but once they're broken in, they fit like a glove. The sole starts out very hard and stiff but don't give up on them!-they become super soft and supportive after some wear. The sole molds to your foot, so they're extra comfortable. Also, I think Gizeh is the most flattering Birkenstock model for a wide foot. Also check out Papillio-Birkenstocks. They make the tops in funky/fun patterns.

Great sandal! I wanted something that was stylish and comfortable and this sandal is both. I have high arches and have normal width feet so I went with the regular width and it was perfect. There is some breaking in (as with all Birks) but it only took a few days and now they're perfect. The golden brown has some bronze tones to it but isn't overly shiny and goes great with shorts and skirts and the synthetic fabric looks good too.

Good looking and comfortable - I have always been a fan of Birkenstocks, but it is hard to find ones that look good too. The Gizeh model is very cute, and in the golden brown (with gold overtones), it is really stylish. I am living in these shoes.

Affordable sandals, great look - I have had my eye on these for quite a while and saw that this price is definitely doable. I saw so many people wearing these in Spain a few years ago but could afford them then, and now for this price I am psyched. They fit well; the narrow width is fine even for my oddly shaped feet. I wear an 8.5 reg in American sizes although one foot is wider than the other, this size is fine. Like other reviewers said that the shininess of Birko-Flor was risky for them, but if you get it in the olive green it doesn’t look cheesy and isn’t too much. Also, they are stylish enough that they don’t scream hippie :) either. Enjoy!

Stylish, Comfy Sandals - Great sandal. Extremely comfortable. Tons of Compliments. I usually wear a 8.5 but after reading previous reviews, I purchased a 38 (7-7.5) and it fits perfect. Highly recommended!

Awesome shoes - These shoes are amazingly comfortable. And as always, Zappos has wicked fast service.

Great overall shoe - Attractive and comfortable. I was concerned about the color, but it is a lovely, neutral shade of golden brown--not too metallic, and looks like fine-quality leather even though it's Birko-Flor.

I like these - I wear a 9 medium and ordered a 40 narrow which fits fine. A little breaking in is required and I'm hoping the thong softens up a bit, but the support is worth any discomfort from the thong. Looks so much better than most "arch support" shoes. I'm hoping they get it in black!

Cute and comfortable - I never thought I'd give in so completely to what I always considered to be a hippie shoe, but there it is. I have the Gizeh style in three different colors--in black patent, golden brown, and silver--and they are my summer staple. These look great with pants or skirts, and you can walk for miles in them (I bought my first pair in Paris, which I walked from end to end, and they saved my feet). I can't say enough nice things about his shoe--if you're on the fence, go for it; you won't regret it. Trust.

I have such high arches that almost all shoes begin to make my feet hurt due to the lack of arch support. Last summer I backpacked Europe and wore these shoes every single day for over a month. My feet never hurt (aside from the blister I got on the bottom of my foot while breaking them in) and the shoe conformed to my arch wonderfully. I highly recommend Birkenstocks to anyone with high arches. Keep in mind that Birkenstocks tend to run a bit large when ordering - I am a true 11 but I always purchase a 10.5 from Birkenstock.

LOVE THEM! Love these! Comfortable; took me about a few days to break in, but love them to death! Looks good with everything! I usually wear a woman’s 7, but heard Birks ran a lil big, so took the chance and got a 6 1/2, and fits like a glove!

Fantastic Sandal - I'm very happy with this purchase. Was looking for a comfortable sandal that could withstand a lot of walking, but stylish enough to see me through various environments. Perfect for travel, and the black patent makes them not too crunchy granola.

Cute and versatile - I bought these in black patent and they look great with modern outfits in the summer. They are not comfortable like slippers or flip flops, but more of a sturdy and healthy alternative. They definitely perform like a Birk for arch support and exercise and your feet/legs will need to get used to them. Birks run big, so I am a true 6.5 and wear a 36 in Birks for the perfect fit. The regular width Birk is a wide in American sizing.

I LOVE THESE SHOES - I was a little worried about the toe piece, because I don't usually wear thong sandals, but after wearing them for a couple of days, I didn't even notice it anymore. These are literally the only shoes I've worn since I bought them. I got the silver non-leather ones, so they can be dressy or casual. Not only are they comfortable no matter how much I walk in them (most important), but they are so stylish I've even worn them out at night- dancing! (That was kind of an unexpected twist to the evening, but they let me in with these!) Also perfect for travel- I've been in Spain recently and everyone was wearing them. And I couldn't be more impressed with Zappos service. I ordered these on a Saturday evening and had them on Monday morning!

Birkenstock Gizeh - The Birkenstock Gizeh is by far the most comfortable pair of sandals I have ever owned. Sizing is the key: the plastic piece won't rub in between your toes if you wear the proper size. In Dansko I wear a size 37, but I bought a size 36 narrow in this shoe and they fit wonderfully! The silver is pretty and unique!

I usually wear an 8 1/2, or a 9. The 39 reg. fit perfect. I am really happy with this purchase. I would buy them again in another color. Took 3-4 days to truly break in and now they are so comfortable. I do not want to wear anything else. They were also cheaper, as far as shipping, and tax than everywhere else online.

fabulous! These are fabulous! In the patent colors they look super hip and I get compliments on them all the time. i just got back from the south of France, and they are everywhere there too! Also, I have a high arch and these give me great support. I can walk forever in them.

Great sandal - This is a great sandal. It took me a few days of wearing them around the house to get used to the thong between my toes. I found that tightening the strap really helped. It is much more feminine looking than many Birks.

Birkenstock Gizeh - These were comfortable right out of the box. I'd already been wearing thong slippers so the plastic toe-piece did not bother me. Being able to adjust for my unequal instep heights is a big plus.

The most comfortable shoe I've ever worn - Back in the 80's my chiropractor recommended Birkenstocks bec. my back had gone out and I couldn't wear heals anymore. I've been wearing them every since. I adore Birkenstocks. Where I live now I cannot find the style or the shoe, y so I use Zappos.com bec. their service is astounding in today’s don't care attitude businesses. I received these shoes in record time. It's a breeze ordering them. These are spendy shoes. I prefer the leather yet the manmade uppers on them work just fine. I saved about 30 bucks with the manmade. So I'm thrilled to have them, enjoy wearing them and with summer here they are perfect for my job at the library. I can only say good things about Birkenstocks and Zappos.com. The service and this product are superb!!! C: PS. Even when I lived in Alaska, Zappos.com delivered there too. Many companies do not. Zappos.com is an online store I recommend to all my friends. I don't know anyone there personally, but I'd like too. The Gizeh - The Gizeh... I have tried twice before to wear this style of Birkenstock because it's such a cute sandal, but the hard plastic toe piece is too much for me to take. But, I decided to give them one more try. I broke them in slowly, carrying with me a second pair of sandals to wear when I couldn't take the pain anymore. It has taken about 6 days, and one nasty blister, but I believe I have finally conquered that nasty little piece of plastic. (Why, Birkenstock, can't you just use a soft little piece of leather?) Either way, I am thrilled that I can now wear my Gizeh's without any pain 'tween the toes! I even ordered a second pair in one of the metallics! If you are experiencing the same problem, I think the long break-in period is the key. Love this sandal!

Great summer sandal - I usually wear a 6-1/2 WW and got these in a 36 regular. The length is fine (surprisingly) and the shoe is none too wide but is already conforming comfortably to my feet. The toe piece is stiff but it doesn't rub -- unlike other thongs, you don't have to grip your toes on the thing to keep the shoe on. It is great to find a thong(ish) sandal that doesn't slap or slip around! The silver isn't too shiny and is very versatile. So happy!

Birkenstock Gizeh - I've owned Birks for years and have several styles. I was worried these would by uncomfortable between my toes. It was totally unfounded. Comfortable immediately and I've worn them shopping. These are fun, stylish (compared to other Birks), and comfy. p.s. I have a wide foot and don't know how they'd fit a narrow. As far as incorrect sizing, they're going off of what Birkenstock states. If you have a problem with your width/length, it's because of Birkenstock, not Zappos.

The plastic piece between the toes is a little stiff, but the rest of the shoe is very comfortable. Have received lots of compliments on the color. This will be my summer shoe of choice!

Perfect for stylish summer - I recently ordered this sandal in silver. Not only do they feel great, from the start, but the Gizeh also look good with everything from a black dress to my favorite jeans. I know they're not cheap, but they will last a lifetime. And what makes it better is that Zappos shipped them next day. Now that's what I call instant (shoe) gratification.
