I have a narrow foot and unfortunately, these are way too wide. The ankle straps are a bit awkward and stiff. I have several pairs of birkenstocks but this style goes back. Did love the style.....wish they made them in narrow with softer ankle straps.

After trying these on I can see why so many people had issues with the length of the ankle strap, and the strap across the top of the toes. Lucky for me, these fit perfectly if I have the straps on the tightest fitting. Now that I've fully broken these in I really like them, and find them to be really comfortable.

Gave them to my granddaughter but she did not like how the ankle strap felt. Her mom, who wears the same size, tried them and felt the same way. They will be returned.

My favorite Birks yet!! ?? They’re stylish and were the most comfortable ones I have owned right out the box. Loving the ankle strap. Very in style and a nice option to have for all day walking. Of course it takes that extra second but on the plus side you could wear them on a roller coaster ????? Worth Every Penny! GET THEM!

I was looking for a sandal with a heel strap to give my foot more support as I do a lot of walking. While this is a cute shoe I did not think the strap provided me with much more support than the non strap Birkenstocks I have. Cute and comfortable - just not what I was looking for

So excited to receive these! My daughter ordered a pair of Birkenstocks about 6-9 months ago and has been raving about them. When I saw this style, had to order! I typically wear a size 8-8.5 M in other brands. I ordered a 39 in these sandals in the color "tobacco" which literally goes with everything. Right out of the box the footbed felt comfy. Wearing them the first day, struggled with the buckle straps a bit. The straps themselves were comfortable as they are wide soft leather however, where they criss-cross across the front/top of my ankle area had me concerned. They felt fine walking around but when going DOWN any stairs, the criss cross buckle straps pinched with each step-ouch! I read other reviews that said to play around with how tight you have the straps which I did without resolving the pinching problem. Alas, I found the solution! I had crossed over the buckle straps where the "short buckle strap" was laying OVER the "long strap" which I figured would be more comfortable-nope! If you have this same problem, I recommend that you try crossing the buckle strap where the "short buckle strap" is UNDER the "long strap". Note that this appears to be the opposite of the way you see the sandal buckled in photos. Crisis averted and no more pinching! Very happy I played around with the straps. LOVE these sandals and bring on the stairs now!

I love Birkenstocks. I am a size 8 and ordered a 38. They fit great. The leather is stiff but will soften with wear.

These are my first pair of Birkenstock sandals and..I'm hooked. I had moderately flat feet made even flatter by a recent pregnancy and none of my shoes fit like they used to. I heard Birkenstocks offered good arch support but that they'd take a while + a lot of pain to break in and while I find the former true, definitely not the latter. I wore them around the house for a few hours before I wore them out and that was enough. I took the advice given by a lot of people here to order several sizes down and that did NOT work for me. I'm typically between a U.S. 7.5-8 and originally ordered these in a 37 and they were too short. I re-ordered in a 38 and they're perfect! My heel fits well in the heel cup and my toes do not touch the front ridge, with the toe bar landing right where it should. I have small ankles and had to add a couple extra holes to the straps, but now they fit perfectly! I also think they're kind of cute with dresses. LOVE these so much I went and bought a pair to wear in the house (Amsterdams) and I'm eyeing the Gizehs. Uh oh, I think I may have developed a problem :S

I used the recommended size and unfortunately it was one size too large. The quality looked fine and I liked the style but in the future I will rely on my own judgement with respect to size.

Amazing shoe. I'm a 6.5 in shoes but wear a 36 in this.

The sole is not flexible, so the straps put too much pressure on the ankles. I bought size 8, my usual size is 9. The fit was OK. I am returning it.

I have tiny feet. I wear a 6 in most shoes. I ordered a 36 regular width and it was too big. I need a 35, which are really hard to find. Or a 36 narrow. The narrow widths run a little smaller. I’ve tried them on in stores and I definitely need a narrow in the 36 or a 35. Loved this style and the color! I will keep looking and hope I find my size.

I was hoping to wear these shoe especially for comfort and walking. However, the thong between the big toe and 2nd toe caused caused a bit of irritation for me pushing my 2nd toe more to the 3rd toe. Not only that, my 2nd toe typically overlaps the 3rd toe just a little but for some reason the thong makes it push to further making it not look like the overlapping toe sits on top of the 3rd toe. I will have to return these shoes.

Beautiful sandal, but dang it! Loved the style and weight of the shoe as well as the oiled leather straps. I REALLY wanted these to fit. However, the transition of the sandal around my ankle was odd. Sadly, they are going back.

Love, love, love. Have started having foot problems. Not with this shoe! Ordered another so I could have one for yardwork and one for good.

I love these. Love love. I bought my first (adult) pair of Birkenstocks (the Granada) last year when I was pregnant and I was super happy with them, and when I got this pair, I was prepared to spend some time breaking in for them to really be comfortable, because I figured there would be a couple of spots that would need some work on my foot - the ankle strap, the toe cross over....NOT SO! These babies were super comfortable right out of the box. I recently wore them on a longish walk that I had made - unplanned - a couple weeks earlier in my well-loved Granadas and had gotten a little blister on one foot....no blisters this time! They're crazy comfortable. I will say, I have pretty normal ankles - not teensy, but not at all puffy - and out of the box, I had them on the second to last hole for the ankle strap. Since I've gotten them broken in a little, I've gone a notch tighter, but if your ankles tend to be a little puffy be prepared for some snugness while you break them in! Anyway, bottom line - love them, they've surpassed my expectations (I really was prepared to have to do some serious breaking in!) and I love that they're just my style AND super comfortable. Yay!

These are the cutest Birkenstock (Yara) sandals that I have seen. I love the the dark brown color (Oiled Habana). The ankle strap really finishes the look of these sandals. I did size down one full size after reviewing others' comments; glad that I did. Unfortunately, I do have narrow feet, and I felt that these sandals were too wide for my feet....very disappointed because I was hoping to be able to keep these.

I love this sandal. I will ordering a different color very soon.

These are my first pair of Birks! I love them! At first I wasn't sure which size to buy- because the general fit guide indicates that the heel cup should fit flush with your heel. I order a smaller size and my true size- although the smaller size fit my heel cup and length, it was not wide enough for my foot. My true size seemed a little big at first, but after wearing them around the house I could feel the difference between the two sizes dramatically. Order your typical size- and you too will be in love!

The leather is so soft!!! I thought the toe strap would bug me, but it’s comfortable. No rubbing or blisters anywhere!! The cork is stiff but as you break them in they form to your feet and get easier to walk in. These are super cute with capris, shorts, skirts, etc.

I ordered the shoes in black and the leather transfers black color to my skin which was disappointing for such expensive shoes.

Love these, just like I love all of my Birkenstocks! I’m usually a size 7, but always order size 6 (37) in Birks. Very comfortable, the straps didn’t rub at all, even right out of the box.

I am consistently a size 39...I followed the advice of reviewers (tentatively), and they were right...the 38 is fine even though all my other birkenstocks are 39s.

These shoes were fantastic! I ordered many different sandals in preparation for a trip to Italy, and decided on the Birkenstock Yaras. I have a history of plantar fasciitis, and I also over-pronate. I was able to wear these sandals around most days (walking 5-10 miles) and was very happy with these sandals! The strap was very helpful in keeping the shoe on, which kept any plantar fasciitis issues from arising. They look very cute as well, not the typical birkenstocks you see on everybody else. Would highly recommend!
