After trying several soft footbed Arizona and Milano sandals and finding them either too tight in size 45 (my correct size) or too long in size 46, I decided to try the original footbed. I have high arches and I found that size 45 12 - 12 1/2) hard footbed is not too tight b/c there is no foam layer. Yes, the footbed is hard but in reading those who praise the original footbed, I find it supports my arches and will eventually form to my footprint. That said, I found this distressed look too loose for me.

Love the style and color of these Birks! Since they are real leather, the straps are not super comfortable until thy are broken in. In the mean time they are pretty stiff, but I know they will get better, it'll just take some time. The straps are also easy to get scuffed up, but I think it adds to the character of them. They are slightly distressed looking, but super fashionable and in style! Glad I made this purchase and can't wait to wear them more this summer!

I added a black pair to my collection of Berks., and they are a cute sandal and look good on, but....since they are new, my feet are turning black *sad face*. My biggest pet peeve is dirty feet, and let me say this, If I didn't LOVE Birkenstocks, these would be returned. But I will weather through these and try to rub the excess dye off them. That is the only con I can find with the sandals.

I tried 3 different sizes before finally settling on a size (thankfully Zappos makes this so easy . . . what could be better than shoe shopping from home)?! This is not the first time I've been in this conundrum with shoes. I typically wear an 8; 8.5 in running shoes to give my toes extra room. My feet are two different sizes, (maybe slightly less than a half size difference) so I always have to choose between shoes, particularly sandals, being slightly too small on my larger foot or slightly too large on my smaller foot. Unfortunately, same situation with Birks. This is my first pair and if I'm going to spend this much on a pair of sandals, I want them to fit perfectly! So I give 4 stars not because of the fit, but because I do wish they came in half sizes (and I think the size chart is probably pretty accurate). The 38 narrow is ever so slightly too short on my longer foot (toes skim the front of the footbed) and the 39 narrow felt too long on my shorter foot (heel didn't sit back fully in the heel cup). I also have long toes, so in order for my toes to "grip" the toe grip as they should, they almost have to be touching the top of the shoes regardless of size. So I think in my case it comes down to personal preference and I ultimately decided on the 38s. I just like the way my foot looks in them a little better and they seem a little more fitted/less floppy. Just a slightly more polished look. I know many reviews say Birks are not meant to be for looks, but, again, if I'm spending this much on sandals I need to actually like how they look so I'll wear them. Hopefully my toes skimming the top isn't an issue as they adapt more to my feet! I did try the 38 regular and they felt much too bulky, so I'd say go with a narrow unless you have wide feet. I love the tobacco color, but I think it must very widely. The first two pairs I tried looked like the picture, the third pair was a much darker brown and looked nothing like the color of the others.

These sandals look amazing and I've gotten a lot of compliments on them. Now onto the sizing: I made the mistake of ordering these the first time in the size that I normally wear which is 10 1/2 (44). BIG mistake! Sent them back and ordered a 42 and they fit a lot better. My next pair will be a 41 and that should dial everything in perfect. These are European sizes in case you were wondering. Do not be afraid to order these sandals in a smaller size that what you normally wear! Proper fit is the key to these being comfortable so don't be afraid to send them back. Zappos is awesome that way! Just like everyone else says the break in period on these varies. I'm on my feet all day with shoes that don't support my arch. I come home and put these on and my feet thank me for it. With the constant up and down of my arch it took me several months to break these in. To help them mold around my foot faster I sprayed the footbed lightly with water and wore them around for a while. This was probably the most important thing I did in speeding up the process. After all of this you'll have a pair of sandals that your feet will love!

These would have been great but I have very wide feet and I just couldn't get past the way my toes rubbed against the side walls on the front of the shoes.I may try another pair and see if they do the same thing.I feel like they were seconds from the company though. (maybe that's what Zappos sells?)Still LOVE Zappos return policy and customer service!

Zappos has amazing customer service and fast delivery!! I ordered the oiled leather in "tobacco". However, the "oiled leather" look with the lighter leather was a bit too scuffed-looking for my liking. I'm going to return to get a 37 (I normally wear a 7), and try the habana oiled leather instead.

So stylish! I really like this style, but the front strap rests squarely on a long-ago injured by strappy heels bone near my big toe. I'm always a 39 in Birks, but this is significantly longer than my others. Super cute!

Found the leather to be very stiff making these quite uncomfortable. Ended up returning and purchasing the soft bed Florida and really like them.

Finding this shoe in a narrow width option was awesome! They fit my 14 year olds narrow foot perfectly. She had just about given up on getting a pair of Birkenstocks until we found the narrow width option.

I usually wear a men's US 10.5, and the size 43, listed a size men's 10-10.5, was a size too big. Re ordered the size 42 and they fit perfect.

My husband loved the comfort of these sandals and was hoping to keep them forever. He regularly sealed the cork and did not get the sandals wet. Unfortunately after 3 and a half years the footbed cracked across the entire sandal where it flexes when walking. He's not going to have them repaired because of the cost. He will replace them with a new pair and hope to get longer wear this time.

I ordered these in the normal and one pair in the soft foot bed. The normal footbed is firm, but I'm sure it would break in really well over time. I personally didn't want to wait to break them in, and the arch support was awesome. The soft footbed has good arch support as well, just a nicer feel right out of the box. The quality of the Birkenstocks are great, like always!

I like the shoe, however I need a size bigger

I love these sandals and literally wore my last pair out, having had them for at least 10 years. I bought a new pair of the oiled leather Arizona birkenstocks about a month ago. They absolutely fit my foot and feel so comfortable on my foot. But there is an issue with them. The oiled leather version has such hard and roughly cut leather that they really hurt the tops of my feet. I tried oiling them and saddle soaping them, and it helped marginally, but eventually my blisters jealed and now my feet have adapted to the leather. Not an ideal method of breaking in new shoes. Pity.

I normally order a US size 6 or 6.5 so I ordered a size 37 according to the size chart. My foot was sliding back and forth so I exchanged them for a size 36 which fits perfectly. I'm sad the color Tobacco wasn't available in my size but Habana Oiled Leather is just as nice. I find the second strap to be rather scratchy if I walk too fast. I really like how lightweight the shoe is and the adjustable straps. You can definitely walk for a few miles in this so I will be taking them with me when I travel. They look very cute with tshirt and jeans or floral dresses. Hopefully, I will be able to break these shoes faster.

The shoes are really comfortable. It took me less than 24 hours to break in the shoes. I'm sure I will purchase another pair in the future.

I received my birkies and was delighted. These were my 4th pair in over 10th years. Wish I could say they were perfect for me. From the inside front on the bed itself is a 't' line which really hurts my feet. Couldn't wear them for more than 10 minutes at a time. :( Called customer service and spoke with Sasha and found an angel! I am able to return, replace with the soft bed and get a little refund back! You could say I'm on cloud nine! So very grateful to Zappos for being the type of company they are. Been with them for years and will continue to be! Thank you Sasha and Zappos!

It's comfortable but not as comfortable as I expected given the price tag. I'm two weeks in, so I'm hoping it will improve with time giving these are not soft soles. But for 135 I thought it'd be more comfy from the start. The oiled leather also doesn't look as I thought it might. I think I would have given this five stars if it had cost me $50-$75. But at $135, I can't.

I have come back to Birkenstock after 20 or so years, and I am so glad I did. As I remembered, the stiff footbed does take some getting used to. I wore them as slippers around the house for a few days before I ventured out with them. They are so comfortable now. The raised toe thing is oddly positioned for where my toes sit, but it doesn't bother me. Quality appears great and the habana oiled leather looks just like the photo. Happy with this purchase.

I've been having knee pain wearing my daily walkers so I decided to try out Birkenstocks since they're all the rage. After breaking them in (blistering and painful, but totally worth it), they molded to my foot like a glove. Worn everyday in the summer, they held up well and I made sure to take care of them. The only thing that I am disappointed about is how worn down the sole was already by the end of the summer. I read many reviews of people wearing their Birks for 10-20 years and I'm wondering if the quality of the sole went down to meet demand? That was definitely disappointing, and I'll be waiting to buy another pair until they improve on that aspect. Otherwise they're a great pair of shoes and worth the money.

Bought these as a replacement for my boyfriend's worn out pair. He loves them and says they are as comfortable as the first pair. The Habana oiled leather looks great and feels soft.
