I wear a womens size 6/6.5 shoe and this birkenstock is HUGE for my foot! Why is that if it said it is a women's 37 (6/6.5) shoe?? I'm disappointed. I'm wondering if i should even order the next size down size which would be a 36 (5/5.5)?

I love these shoes! They run wide, so I had to go with the narrow width. They fit perfectly and are so comfortable.

Husband loves his Birks. They always take some time to break-in but he always really breaks them in once summer hits. Comfy and came as pictured.

I have always wanted to purchase a pair of Birkenstocks for a very long time, but was apprehensive because they were so expensive. Now that I have bought them I realize I should of done so a long time ago, they are so comfortable and broke in pretty easy, but make sure you do so in the summer when it is warm and the cork forms to your foot better. I have work them everyday since I bought them and always get compliments when wearing them, they are well worth the money. Also shipping from this site is by far the best I have ever seen - got my shoes next day.

I've been wearing Birkenstock Arizona sandals for about 30 years now. They have good arch support and become more comfortable over time. Wear socks with these sandals for the first week until the leather stretches a bit.

I chose the sandal was true to size bc a 36 is size 5 - 5.5. For me, it was a size 5.5. I am a true size 5 so size 35 (4 - 4.5) would be ideal. Sadly, Zappos does not carry a size 35.

These shoes are awesome. However, if you have normal sized feet (i.e. not a half size and/or have a normal width), order a size down. I am usually a size 6, but I ordered a 36, equivalent to sizes 5-5.5. Hope this helps!

I love these sandals, I my first pair for 10 years and then I thought I was ready for another. They are comfortable, easy to fit and last forever, I even have an old pair of clogs that I still wear. When you want a sandal buy this one, you will not be disappointed. I wear it all day for lots of walking. I had to get the man size, my feet have changed through the years and are wide and I have a high arch, so this makes them more comfortable for me.

Love these Birks! Disregarding the fact they are currently on trend, they are incredibly comfortable and supportive. Even though I am in my 20s, I have sesamoiditis and arthritis in my toes, so I need a shoe that has great arch support and really molds to my foot. I wear them constantly. The strap by the big toe was giving me a blister the first time I wore them but it softened up really quick and now I can wear them walking for hours. Highly recommend!

You can always depend on Arizona Birks. I think this might be my seventh pair over 30 years. Also, I'm on my third pair of Bostons -- they are great for keeping feet dry in snow and rain. And Zappos is the greatest. I ordered the wrong size, and the correct shoes arrived the next day -- no hassles about debiting my account for the second pair, just an exchange. I love you all! And Birkenstocks.

Love my Brikenstock sandals. Very comfortable; look good with jeans or dressy slacks and dresses. Only wish they came in more colors , like purple suede! I would definitely recommend these sandals.

This is my first pair of Birkenstock sandals, and they are super comfortable. It's like they form-fit to your foot, with tons of arch support. I used to be very anti-Birkenstock in my more cynical days, but now as my whiskers have begun to grey I've come to relax my position. I even think they look cool! My 30 year-old self would be appalled. It's critical to get the right size for a proper fit (obvious). If you don't already know your Birkenstock size, order a couple of pairs to compare (free return shipping!). The right fit might seem just a little too small, but you don't want a lot of excess room in front of your toes or behind your heel. Do an online search for "Birkenstock Finding the Proper Fit" for a great explanation (I don't want to call out the company website since they're a Zappos competitor, but you'll know the right website if there are photos with a foot and sandal illustrating the correct - and incorrect - fit). I'm not sure if this is an issue with other colors, but the black oiled leather version left black stains on my feet for a couple of months. Using a nail brush helped clean it up, but not completely. The sole seemed like it wouldn't be grippy since it's fairly smooth and hard, but it has proven to be fine, and I haven't noticed any unusual slipping or lack of grip. Overall, these are a great sandal with great pedigree and build quality. Are they the hippest thing you can put on your feet? Well, I guess that depends on the individual. Do us all a favor, however, and never wear them with rag wool socks.

They have their own style, you like them or you don't. I wear them for my Hallux Rigidus and they do help. My toes are kept immobile and supported. Couldn't ask for more.

Stick to the company's recommended sizing and you'll be fine. There is supposed to be some space behind and in front of the toes and heel. Since it is tough real leather, feet that are usually covered will need time to get used to the leather on top and may be a little sensitive. All in all I love this style, the leather Birkenstock Milano's and Boston Clogs best. For those who have had problem feet this shoe is perfection.

The oiled leather stained my feet black which is a problem I have never encountered in 40 or so years of wearing Birks. I have had them for a couple of weeks and staining is decreasing with time. I love Birkenstock sandals though and bought these to replace a worn out pair.

I've suffered from heel spur (plantar fasciitis) for decades.The first day wearing these, and I'm completely pain free, and even after reading reviews, I was still skeptical. I'm also one of the people who think they're super cute as well. This shoe totally fits my outdoor music festival lifestyle. I'm typically a women's size 10,and the 40 euro size is a perfect fit. These shoes run a full size larger. The Tobacco color is a beautiful cool-toned distressed brown. I will never again be without this shoe. Truly life changing!

Absolutely very comfortable. I wear this brand and a few others but Birkenstocks are my favorite. I love how they mold to the foot. Good quality. I have several pairs from years ago and they hold up wonderfully. Love the adjustable straps.

I've never had a pair of Birkenstocks before, but, having received these about a month ago, I really like them so far. After so much reading about the very different sizing situation with the brand I actually went to a local store that sells them & got myself properly sized by a professional. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who has the option where you live, as it turns out I would've been way off trying to estimate my size correctly. Birkenstocks really do fit entirely differently in every way from any other shoe. It's true that they do need to be broken in properly over a little time. I found that, while they were pretty rigid right out of the box, after just a couple days of wearing them around the house for an hour or two at a time I could really feel them molding exactly to my feet. It's a really unique experience if you've never had it before. In pretty short order they've gotten to be some of my favorite shoes. Definitely quality construction, highest quality materials, easy to see why they've been in business for over 200 years. A very different experience overall, but ultimately a really good one. I'd definitely recommend Birkenstocks if you're looking for a sandal that'll likely last for a few good years.

I've had Birkenstocks in the past and they last almost forever. Over time the shoe conforms to your foot for a perfect fit. I have a narrow foot and the buckle straps across adjust so it is narrow enough. I had good service from Zappos.

Love these sandals! The name says Zinfandel which implies a maroon-ish color and I was a bit worried when ordering. If the light hits them just right they do look Zin'ish, but under most lighting conditions they're brown. I guess brown just isn't a cool name. No break in period for me really, but I have a high arch and have worn Birks before. Great buy and probably the best thing I've bought for myself this year!

I have a wider foot, and these sandals are great, but I think they would work well for someone with a narrower foot, too. I wear a women's 7.5 and found that the size recommended (38) fits me well. The sandals are conforming more and more to my foot each time that I wear them. Love these shoes.

A friend recommended these to me because I wanted a sandal with good arch support. Not only do they have great arch support but they are wonderfully comfortable. My feet love these shoes! They are quite durable which is good because I wear mine a lot!
