Love these… they do take a moment to break in though!

this color was lighter than pictured, but the shoes are fabulous! love them!

fit is perfect; have had many pair of Birkenstocks over the past 40 years, and one thing I love is that unlike so many fashion- and marketing-driven companies, the basics don't change. Delivery took several days, but overall I'm very satisfied.

Everyone needs to own this quintessential oiled leather Birkenstock sandal. I got the darker brown shade, and they were immediately comfortable out of the box for me. The traditional footbed is just so perfect, and the whole Birk vibe always brings back such great memories. These are beautifully made and they last for forever. I'll never stop wearing this brand. Thanks, Zappos...I've been in love with you for eons. ?

I've had this style Birkie before and loved them. After many rebuilds, I decided to order a new pair. My old ones were 40 years old...at least the original leather straps were that old. So these are 37s and I usually wear 36 but Zappos steered me to the larger size and since I was going to wear these with socks, I decided to go to the 37s. They are fine with socks. Had I intended to wear them without socks, they might be a trifle too long. The difference is hardly noticeable.

This is my third pair of Birks. The world would be a better place if everyone wore them.

It took a few tries to get the sizing right. I'm normally a 6.5 and when I need to choose a whole size, I opt for 7. For these, I definitely needed a 36 and am very happy with them now. As I continue to break them in, I'm loving them more every day.

Perfect fit, true to size. Comfortable

I seem to be between 2 sizes. Size 38 narrow did not fit and now 39 M does not fit either. I really wanted a Birkenstock sandal specifically for walking in the summer. Maybe I will try the 38 M one day. Too discouraged with returning my whole order right now.

I love these Birkenstocks! I wear ladies 10m and after adjusting the buckles they fit perfectly! I have worn them for over week and totally smooth “break in”with no blisters ! The oiled leather is rich looking. I wish they offered navy oiled leather as I would gladly purchase a second pair !

I decided to return these because I wanted genuine oiled leather and I misread the description.. Nice navy color though.

I wore Birkenstocks for years until I broke my leg. I am just now starting back and wanted new Birkenstocks to break in with my fused ankle due to damage from breaking leg. Birkenstocks are really great shoes and they form to your individual foot needs. Can't wait to order more.

I would normally have purchased a size 42. But Zappo recommended a 41 in this style, based on my previous Zappo purchases. I went with the 41 recommendation. Zappo was exactly correct. A great added benefit from the Zappos gang. And also there Birkenstock are great. Thanks to Zappo.

Love but I wanted the shiny black leather. These are a dull, matte black.

So far so good- love them! I’m following the recommended break in period for the original footbed, and they are getting better with each wear as them form to my feet. One note though, I had to order this item 3x, which was frustrating. The first time I received the soft footbed in a repackaged plain cardboard box (also should have been oiled tobacco brown, but I think it was habana). The second time I received the correct footbed, but they were a light tan color (I reordered tobacco). The 3rd time I received the correct habana brown with the correct original footbed (as now the tobacco is out of stock). This was my first purchase using Zappos, and not sure if this was just a fluke situation. The replacements arrived quickly, but I will probably buy elsewhere next time.

These shoes fit perfectly! I am usually a women’s medium width and I have the toe buckle on the last hole but it fits perfectly. Quality is great. I am 72 years young ( old hippy) and this is my first pair of Birkenstock’s ! Loving it ! They are so fun and the quality is great !

I used to wear Birkenstock sandals all the time. Then I broke my leg at the ankle and after a lot of surgery and trauma I decided it was time to go back to the most comfortable shoes. It takes a little wearing to break them in, but so worth it!!

Birks are amazing! Once you find the right size you're on your way to years of trouble free sandal wear. In addition, your return and exchange service is unbeatable. I received my new Birks the very next day! Can't go wrong with Zappo and Birks.
