The only bad thing i can say about these is that the leather is not as dark as the picture shows, other than that, they are great. It's been over 20 years since my last pair of Birks so it took me a while to get used to them again. I would wear these everywhere if I could.

I bought these for my husband who needed strap adjustment to fit his feet that are wider in front, leading him to wear shoes and sandals that are too long. He finds the footbed comfortable and the straps easy to adjust, but the stiff leather straps are taking a while to break in. I wish this style were available in suede. He needs the backstrap for biking to work. In this sandal he was 2 sizes smaller than his regular shoe size, but a size larger than the Birkenstock website size chart.

DELIVERY TIME WAS VERY FAST.

The Milano adds a rear heel strap to the Birkenstock sandal design. The oiled leather looks good when new and gets better with age. The Birkenstock sole has agressive arch support and lots of room for your toes. The three straps let you dial in the best fit. It takes some time for your feet to adjust to the high arch support. One method of making the adjustment is to wear the Milano's for just two hours a day the first week, four hours a day the second week and all day the third week. Wearing socks (call the fashion police) will prevent problems while the straps soften up. Use the Birkenstock cork sealer every two months, avoid water and your sandals will last several years before you need to replace the sole or cork.

Good overall, leather straps are a little uncomfortable

I ordered these Birks in size 45 (US Men's 12-12.5). The size felt about right, but my foot sat diagonally in the sandal. That caused my 3 smaller toes to but up against the ridge of the cork footbed and my heal to occasionally land on top of the ridge in the back. Also, with my foot being diagonal in the shoe, the raised "toe bar" fell in the wrong spots -- right under the ball of my foot and under my big toe, which was painful. I had also ordered the soft footbed version of the same shoe. I experienced less pain with the soft footbed. I thought perhaps a larger size would fit better, but the Birkenstock box top actually has a diagram you can use to measure your size. It showed I had the correct size. I haven't worn sandals since the 1970s (yeah, I'm old). Apparently my feet have a weird shape because I also tried a pair of Vionic slides and had the same "diagonal fit" with them. It's too bad because otherwise the Birks felt very comfortable with excellent arch support.

I really liked these shoes, but they were a weird fit. The arch support was amazing. Almost too good. My foot took some time to get used to how much arch support they had. I had to return them because my toes kept creeping up and over the shoe. I have special feet so maybe that is why. I think they are well worth trying to see if they work for you, because if they do they will be amazing

Excellent arch support, which is why I got them, not for style. They're are difficult to put on because the back strap has no elastic. Once on, you can walk great distances in them with confidence that you're getting perfect foot support.

These Birkenstocks have been a great purchase. They required minimal break-in time and have handled hiking and city streets with equal aplomb. The only caveat is that for a wide foot, the standard width is not quite wide enough.

I wish Zappos (and Amazon) for that matter would return to selling Birkenstock footwear by their European sizes, vs. forcing customers to choose a US men's or women's size. I ordered these for my husband (US size 8-8.5), got a size 41. That's the right size for him, but he didn't like the back strap on this model, so I returned the pair and ordered another pair (same style) without the backstrap, same US size (men's 8-8.5), ...and got a size 40! They're too small. So now I have to return that pair as well. Can we PLEASE go back to ordering Birkenstocks in European sizes?? I wear Birkenstocks as well and was always able to order size 41 narrow, but now I don't know what I'll get if I order by a US women's size!

Footbed does not offer as much support as I recall from years ago...but maybe my memory off

Felt long & wide compared to most women's size 10 shoes.

I wanted to own more Birkinstocks. Wore them in the 70s and loved them. But as I have aged I just can't find a pair that. does not hurt my feet.

I desperately wanted to love these sandals. I am a woman with a wide foot. I can't tolerate anything between my toes, so that eliminates a lot of sandals. I found the oiled leather straps to be stiff. I adjusted the three buckles several times to try to get the right fit. Once I had the sense that it was right, I wore them around quite a bit indoors. I developed blisters on both little toes, discovering that the metal fastener for the forefoot buckle rubbed on them. The foot platform didn't line up with the ends of my toes, so that was uncomfortable, too. So they'll be coming back to Zappos.

I really wanted the Milano style because I like having back straps. Unfortunately, the back strap on my right foot rubbed right against my ankle bone. Also, in the habana oiled leather color, this style looks very rugged. I was planning on wearing with dresses and such and perhaps it will look less rugged in a lighter color so it blends in more with my skin.

Standard Birkenstock look and fit. They were damaged in shipping or by someone who returned them. They were not in the original box. The right sandal has a mark/small stain on the footbed. The suede at the tops edge of the toe area was scraped. Too much hassle to return for that.

I wear a 41 in Birkenstocks. I've had multiple pairs. Got this pair at a 41 and it was a full size too large and didn't fit like any of my other 41s. I ordered a 40 and it was too small. I ordered a different pair in a 41 of this same sandal from a different vendor and it fit just like I expected. I think my experience was an anomaly and possibly something wrong with the sizing (mislabeled at the manufacturer?) on this particular pair. I love the pair I ended up getting from the other vendor. I love Zappos and have never had a problem with them. I genuinely don't think this was their fault. They sent me a box that perfectly fit the description of the shoe I ordered and it wasn't right. They made it right and refunded the money after I tried a 40 with no luck.

I've worn Birkenstocks for many years. I tried a bigger size this time and was worried about a harder break in with the heavy leather. ALSO: i wasn't able to state this as another reason for return, but the top buckle on the left shoe is defective, needs to be bent and I was afraid to try that.

The Birkenstock Milano felt true to size and with. I ordered the same size in the Birkenstock that I have in other European sized shoes that I have. The back strap made the shoes secure to my foot. They are not going to fall off. The leather looks really nice, but is stiff. It will require some break in time. The soles of the shoe are a little slippery on some surfaces. The raised area in the foot bed under the toes feels nice on my left foot, but not my right foot. I had foot surgery on one of the tendons in my right foot about 5 years ago. It seems that I must have some scare tissue in about the same area of the raised foot bed of the Birkenstocks. This area of the raised foot bed irritates my foot. I have not experienced this irritation in other sandals that I have (Ecco, Chaco).

As I've said before, I am disappointed that the sizes have been changed. I do not feel my "new" size 40 is the same as my "old" 41. Really tweaking shoes is not always the best option. I had worn size 41 for probably 35 years with no problem.

Very attractive sandal. But, unlike Birkenstocks I bought in the past, the straps were so stiff and heavy that they hurt my feet. I had to return the shoes.

I wore these Birkenstocks during my college days in the Pacific Northwest. Back then I wore socks with them and maybe that's what's different now. My sensitive skin cannot take the leather rubbing against it and I'm not patient enough to let blisters heal nor do I want to go through that process as I was forced to as a child with every shoe purchase my parents made for me. I love the style of Birkenstocks and I love what they do to align my feet and give them support. Alas, I am blessed to live in a beach town and socks with Birkenstocks don't fly here like they did back in WA.

Sandal was too hard and strap didn’t support my legs when walking...

Was to large, I want to return these. I will buy a smaller shoe
