Normally I am a size 9 1/2 so I ordered a 9 1/2 for these boots and they were too big, no problem I called Zappos and the Zappos rep was letting me know if I would like to try a smaller size or get a refund? I went for a size 9 which was surprisingly sent the next day; what great customer service. As it turned out a size 9 was still just not right, too much room in the toe box. Feeling bad I called Zappos and had another pleasant conversation with a Zappos rep who let me know that on a second return I would be given the option of a gift card or get a refund on my credit card. I chose the gift card. A few days later I called Zappos and had a third pleasant conversation with a Zappos rep and asked for a size 8 1/2. This order came the second day after my call and when I tried the boots on they fit perfect. Super comfortable and super cool looking boot. Zappos has some really great people working the order desk. Three calls and three incredibly polite Zappos phone support personnel.

My second pair of Bates boots, Bates, at the time did not have my width, Zappos did! They are very comfortable, side zip makes them very easy to get on and off, and they are very lightweight. They are good quality.

I would purchase these a half size smaller than you usually wear. The zipper function on the side is practical and helpful. I like the ankle support provided by their height. I wore these to shovel snow in 15 degree weather and they performed well.

I have not had a chance to wear these full time yet. I am trying to break them in while in the house. They are comfortable and seem to be well made.

My husband loves these boots. They are perfect for working outdoors in hot climate. This is his 2nd pair. Since he works outside 10-12 hours a day, they dont make his feet sweat or stink, and they are light in weight. Because of rugged terrains at work, they last about a year, which is average for him.

Comfortable boot. Husband uses it for his job at a power plant. He says they keep his feet warm and dry.

I am an EOD tech and always working outdoors all over the world. These are the best boots I own so far. The side zipper is a big plus when taking these off. They are holding really well. Had them for about month now. If they make it through one full year, then they are worth the price.

These feature great looking construction, they slip on easily with side zip and laces do not need any time consuming fine-tuning after they are on my feet. They are very comfortable walking running, jumping all around the various surfaces in my house, including concrete, as well as vigorous lower limb exercises on my Total Gym and walking about three miles per hour uphill on my treadmill, and wearing them for hours around the house with various medium thickness Timberland socks and thicker wool socks. I even fell asleep with them on for a few hours while watching TV and they did not wake me up due to forefoot/toe box area pain like some of the Irish Setters and wrong sizes of Timberland Pros did. Now, I just need to see how they hold up after several weeks. I just wish they had a 30 day guarantee/no hassle, no questions-asked return option like Timberland, or better, a 60 day one, like Magnum!

These are amazing boots! I Have been wearing them 5-6 days a week for a month, in and out of a woodworking shop, clambering around lumber yards and driving. They have exceeded every expectation. They were quick to break-in, supportive, light-weight, the lacing is quick and it cinches easily. This has been a tough winter in the North East US and they have kept my feet warm, but are also breathable for all day indoor wear. The suede leather has stayed shockingly clean and seems to repel dirt and dust. They run just a bit large, but generally true to width (and I have trouble finding the right fit for my wide feet). I have no trouble inserting prescription orthotics. I am considering buying a second pair to switch off with this pair.

I bought these for my husband for Christmas was not sure if he would like them. He said he had been wanting a pair of these. They are a great choice. They look nice and are good quality.

Yes, this is literally the most comfortable boot I have ever put on! The sole grip is terrific and ankle support is also great. The boot is also very light. I've only had them about 2 weeks so durability is still a question for me. Great purchase! Thanks to the other reviewers who recommended!

The left boot fits really nice the right boot feels really tight I'm probably gonna have send them back

They fit well, still breaking in, but so far, these are one of the best boots I've ever purchased. steel composite and everyone @ work love's the color as I do.

The fit is fine and the comfort very good. No break in needed and zero issues with hot spots. The construction seems durable and the weight is very reasonable. I've only worn these in mild winter conditions, so it remains to be seem how they will fair in hot weather. I have only one gripe. The sole is not quite stiff enough for hiking on rocky ground or shoveling. You can easily feel rocks through the sole and pushing on a shovel has to be done carefully so as not to be painful. Despite this, I'm going to keep using them for trail building and maintenance, so obviously, it isn't a deal breaker for me.

I have to wear safety boots for work wanted something a bit better than what we are issued. They broke in fairly quickly and are actually pretty comfortable for what they are. I have even jogged a mile or two in them on my lunch when I forgot my running shoes. I wish they came in a slightly darker tan. Other than that I'm happy with them.

I'm still breaking these guys in so bear that in mind. If it's any help I have an older black pair which are great but unfortunately are a size too large. I ordered these a size smaller and they're about perfect (and will be once the break in period is done) Apart from the size these are very comfortable and holding up well, as are there older brothers.

I need work boots for working in the woods around my house, not only to protect myself as I cut down trees but also to guard against snake bites (copperheads). These boots are well made and reasonably comfortable. Not heavily padded but I expect them to soften up as they get broken in. One feature I like is the side zipper that makes them easy to take on and off once you get the laces adjusted correctly.

The composite toe inside of the shoe cause the shoe to be narrower in the inside then it should have been so is rubbing on my big toe horribly.

I gave them a low a overall rating because They aren't water proof all the way to the top of the boot. They are light and fit well except where the safety toe is. I do like the side zipper.

This boot was very sturdy but extremely stiff and uncomfortable. Also, the zipper allowed the boot to be removed easily but not put back on. Laces needed to be untied again which defeats the zipper concept.

I loved these boots, when I first got them. these are everyday, normal wear, walking the dog, not any real work, boots. After a month, the soles started separating from the uppers, now after several months...the soles are loose in 6 or 7 places, really dissatisfied with the quality, I hope our men and women in the services, never got these.

I purchased and wore this boot for work at Amazon. They ended up DESTROYING my feet after two long 11-hr shifts. and put me out of work for nearly a year. Enough said!
