Not as good as previous years. I have been buying the GTs for about 4 years now. I used to wear New Balance before trying out the GTs. After the first pair, I stuck with them and I have always been pleased until this current pair. I have had them for a bit and been running on them 3-4 times per week and they just don't seem as good as my previous pairs. I feel my runs in my feet unlike in my previous pairs. Something just seems off, maybe a little cheaper in the manufacturing or something. I will start looking for a new running shoe.

Good shoe but heel came loose - I decided to change my normal buying of New Balance to buy these for the gym. The shoe was excellent and fit true to size, but the heel came up the right foot and is about to fall off. Maybe my shoe had some bad glue, or because I’m 300 pounds, but no other shoe that I've owned has ever come up from using it at the gym.

My feet are too wide for these shoes. They seem to be well built, but just too narrow. I was fitted at the running store with a 2E, but they were far too narrow. My feet started killing me after 1 mile, and I ended up with pretty bad shin splints. Took the shoes back, tried a bigger size, wider size, and still too narrow. Even a half size bigger in 4E was still too narrow! I ended up with the NB 1224 in a 2E - shin splints are gone and feet are now happy.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance if you have extra wide feet.

I am normally an Asics believer. I've owned a pair of Gel-Nimbus, and Gel-Kayano, both of which worked well for the short period that they lasted. This time around, since I tend to run these shoes down pretty quick, I decided to save a little and buy the Gel 2140 in hopes of getting a little more value. Well, from the get-go I had trouble with these shoes. If you are used to the Kayano these shoes are not as soft and unless you are a heavy pronator, the 2140s may eventually cause you some pain. These shoes are very stiff and are really designed for heavy over-pronators. The lack of flex in these shoes caused blisters to form on the inside bridge of my feet. The upper mesh on all Asics seems questionable as I have almost always ended with a hole in the top of the shoe above my big toe after only a month or two of use. So unless you know you need some heavy stability shoes and don't mind replacing them often, these shoes may not be for you.

For years I’ve heard people rave about Asics, in particular the 2100 series. So eventually I left my trusty Sauconys to give them a try. In summary, I hate these shoes. My feet point slightly outwards which results in overpronation and gives me severe shin splints. Usually a new pair of shoes are golden until about 100 - 150 miles when my shins start flaring up. I felt the ground pounding my shins from the first run in these shoes. I’m a mid-foot striker and these seem to have very little midfoot cushioning (although they are very well heal-cushioned). If you have shin splint issues, stay away from these. I’m planning on replacing them after only 50 miles or so.

Hole in the mesh - While the Asics are the most comfortable shoe I've found, the mesh around the toe box wears out faster than any other shoe I've owned. I've owned 6 pairs of this exact style and this last purchase will probably be that - my last. I get a hole worn into the mesh from my toes within 4 months of purchase.

These are the worst shoes I ever bought from zappos. Within two months both shoes wore through where the side of my small toe was located. I think these shoes were not properly sized by width as they were of a smidge. I was shocked as I usually got prtty good product through Asics. Now I am not sure I want to buy another pair from this manufacturer.

Terrible - Ordered these and the NB 769's in my usual 15 4E. The fit on these was horrible. Couldn't get my feet in them. 769's are great though. Made in America for Americans!
I'd also recommend:
NB 769, 908, 909, anything New Balance.
