First, maybe I’ve led a sheltered internet life, but Zappos is consistently the best shopping experience on or off the net. I bought the Baffin Impact boots because I could not find anything that would keep my feet warm. My toes just get cold. We don’t have any real cold extremes here (couple of mornings in single digits, afternoons at least 20 this year), but my toes get very cold easily. I had some other pac boots that would not keep them warm so I tried several versions of boots with between 1000 and 2000 grams of thinsulate insulation. Nothing worked. I am outside all day with little or no opportunity to get someplace warm and the only way I could stay 1/2 comfortable was to wear 2 pairs of socks with hand warmer packs in between. That compromise had weaknesses, especially having to walk up to 12 hours a day with lumps in your socks. I tried the Baffin Impact because of the reviews here, and they worked as advertised. They keep my feet warm and my feet don’t sweat even on 40 degree afternoons. My reason for writing the review is to let you know when you buy them in your size, they fit really tight at first. But wear them around the house an hour or two, and it works. They are so tight at first you will think there is no way, but give them a chance. After they break in for an hour or two, they are still very snug, but I think that is part of what makes them work so well. When I first got them I worked 8 - 12 hour days in a row either in an unheated, uncabbed bobcat or walking through a mix of snow and salt in the two back to back east coast blizzards, they were almost perfect. Except for the heel being a little on the loose side compared to the rest of the fit, they were perfect. The heel being a little loose did not create any irritation though. And for such a large boot they are almost light. I usually take a EE and they only come in one width, but the boot seems to conform to your foot, so the width was fine.

Perfect snow boot to go stomping around in deep snow. With aggressive snow traction and reflective striping, this boot is good to walk around in subzero arctic temps or cruise the streets of a mountain town. Currently using these in Breckenridge, CO and have no problem with them. Bought size 9 for a 9½ foot. The liner is so cushy that you can fit a foot a little larger than the full size. Had a size 10 before and that was a little too loose in the heel to do serious trekking around.

These boots are super warm and comfortable! I've been shoveling snow in negative temperatures with them for the past few days and my pants stay dry and my feet stay warm. They are very big and well padded. Definitely not something you can drive in.

First let me say great service. I ordered on a Saturday and recieved them Monday. The boots seemed tight when I first put them on but after an hour of wearing they fit like a glove. I can't wait for some real cold weather to put the boots to the test. Great job Zappos !

I bought these boots for snowmobiling and they are the warmest boots I have ever worn. I wear a womens 9 and the boots fit well. At first I thought they were too tight but after several wearings the extremely padded insert compressed. The boots are a bit bulky but lightweight for their size.

This boot saved my husband's leg in a sledding accident! This is a serious boot. The padded upper construction is not only warm and well made, it cushioned the impact of his leg against a hidden block of ice at the bottom of suicide hill. While he still had a significant injury to that leg, he clearly would have broken it without the superior build of this boot. Suffice to say, I am a believer in this boot. Previous pair lasted 10 years.

I echo Quinn B, and add am unsure how anything could be more comfortable, warm, or securing. The boots regulate surprising well; little/no moisture build-up whether standing or hard snow-shoeing. Remove bootie and keep in sleeping-bag or wear to sleep. My size 13 foot gives this boot dimensions of: 14" L and 6" W (heel width 4.25"), so I don't suggest trying to drive anything other than a UPS truck while wearing. These may max out some snowshoe bindings/clearances, and I had to hammer out the lips on my crampons. The external straps work well, but given the thickness of the bootie, it's hard to sufficiently tighten them to lock the heel for running etc. I just unscrewed a ratcheting buckle-strap from an old set of snowboard bindings, connected them with 7 inches of webbing, and slip that down to the ankle when I anticipate the need. When you do = unstoppable.

Very warm and cozy. They are a little bulky to walk much in them but for tasks like clearing snow from the driveway, they are perfect. Also, I wouldn't recommend them for driving. The are so bulky that I kept hitting both the gas and brake at the same time.

I'm almost embarrassed at how happy these boots make me - no more cold feet!!! Used them in that awful winter of epic record breaking snow and NEVER GOT COLD FEET!

These boots are great. Have not had much experience with other brands being in Florida for 28 years but now I'm back in cold country to appease my wife's longing for the fam. Anyway, this has been one bitch of a winter and these boots at least comfort my feet. True fit to size. Warm warm warm all day long. Get 'em!

These are taller than I expected, coming up over halfway to my knee, but that's OK, more to keep warm. Super warm, seem well constructed - time will tell. Simple buckles for quick on/off and lightweight. They are tight but I've had similar boots with thick Therma-plush and it does loosen up over time.

I've ice fished for over 25 years and I've owned a number of the best boots out there. These are far and away the warmest boots I've ever owned. Well worth the money!

I ordered these boots for my son, who uses them for snowmobiling. He rode last weekend in very cold weather and said they were awesome! He wore regular socks and his feet were never cold nor did they sweat. Also, I placed this order at 8:00 at night and received them the next day! Awesome service Zappos!

Great boots. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Extremely lightweight for the size (they are huge). Great insulation.

I ordered a size 9 in the Control Max which was too tight in the foot, especially the toes; since there was no size 10 available in the Control Max I ordered a size 10 the Impact 08 along with the Shackleton model; at first they both felt snug but gradually loosened up but the Impact was loose in the heel even with the lower strap pulled tight. I didn't care for the heel sliding up & down (the strap should be tighter). The Shackleton has the D rings & laces tighter to hold the heel in place. Both felt very warm; however, I chose the Shackleton for that reason!

This is a very warm boot which provides good traction. It is very tight fitting which makes it hard to slide your foot into the boot without your pant leg sliding up as you slide the boot on. I do not like to walk in with this boot because my socks slide back and forth on my foot as I walk. I live in a cold climate so I always have to wear some type of outer clothing which has to go over the boot to the ankle. I find it hard to zip up my outer clothing over the boot because the boot is so large. It may be a good product for snowmobiling or standing outside in very cold weather watching an outdoor event. Sorry to be so negative but I find this boot to be very warm, very large but also light. At the same time, uncomfortable to move around in. I end up just using my Lacrosse Icemans and sorry I bought this boot.

So easy to put on and take off. Ordered one size bigger. Fits perfectly with wool socks. Materials and craftsmanship are highly professional and extreme. You wont get cold with these snow boots.

My husband says theyre very comfortable and at the same time theyre very light which makes it easy to walk in the snow. They do run a tad small so you have to go up a size which he did.

Ive always suffered cold toes with every other winter boot Ive tried. The Impact live up to their reputation. I wore them on a two week winter survival course where temps went down below -30C, and my feet stayed warm and dry the entire time. The boots are light enough that you can still move around without feeling weighed down. If these boots ever wear out, I will definitely buy another pair.
