I have been wearing the 99X series for more than 10 years. The latest 993 version continues the heritage of excellent US built quality and comfort. I consider this to be the finest running/walking shoe available today. Great support, cushioning and comfort.

Simply put - the best running shoes I have bought in the past 10 years. I partake in events from sprint triathlons to ultra marathons and these shoes accommodate both. They are sturdy and rigid to support a heavy runner like myself - as you would expect from NB. But these 993's are surprisingly light and nimble with plenty of spring to facilitate a good leg pump. I thoroughly appreciated the Zappos sizing assistance to get that element just right on line. I also thoroughly appreciate the compliments I get when running in events with these shoes. They are HOT too.

I ordered these for my husband who needed to replace his old pair badly. The first pair we received was defective, but not in an obvious way. He wore them on a walk once and tripped on one foot to the point of nearly falling. He got home and took a look at that shoe and saw that it was not equal in the heel with the other one. When we looked closer we saw that even the stitching was crooked, the shoe was off-set enough to cause problems. If a person were to use them for running, it could have been potentially more dangerous and have caused an injury. (Have to say runners are more aware of how well their shoes work than my dear husband is.) Just check the shoes out well before you take them on a run! Zappos is great as always, I called and explained the situation to the customer service and they were very accommodating. We received the new pair within 2 days and they didn't double charge our credit card! Zappos rocks!

I had surgery on both feet about 2 years ago. My feet are partly senstive in areas and numb in other areas. I have trouble finding comfortable shoes. These MR993\'s in are the most comfortable shoes I have found since surgery. I highly recommend them.

The New Balance MR993 is undoubtedly the best running shoe on the market. It feels comfortable and ready to go right out of the box. I have owned several of the 900 series running shoes and find that they fit true to size, have excellent support and last a very long time. If you are considering a running shoe and have not tried this New Balance shoe you ought to give it a try. You will not regret it.

I am a person who has very wide feet. Flippers as my wife would say. I also live in a very rural area. Shoe stores are few and far between. Ordering from Zappos has been the answer to my never ending search for footwear. I found that the orders were easy to make. All that I have received has been of the best quality. I may never visit another shoe store again. Thank You Zappos.

Size 8.5 extra wide. These shoes are true to size, and look great! I walk hundreds of miles on a pair of shoes before they are replaced, and these have held up very nicely.

I am a long time customer of New Balance shoes. Been wearing these 993's for about 3 weeks I guess and of course they are excellent. I wore 992's and 991's. I have had knee surgery on both knees years ago and New Balance makes the difference! Zappos is a merchandiser who has definitely turned the corner in this knew world of high tech. If you folks are trying to emit a great and refreshing environment to shop and work in you have succeeded. It is amazing, really. Thanks guys.

I've had 4 pair of the New Balance 992 and now have a new pair of the New Balance 993. Best shoe I've ever had. Good for walking, running and just wearing everyday. Wish I could wear them to work and church. Great shoe!

I was so impressed with the first pair I purchased, within a few days I ordered another pair in a different color. Beyond the comfort of the shoe per se, I need a large toe box due to a toe injury, and these work great for that condition. And, important to add from my view, Zappos offered awesome service.

This is my son's 4th pair of New Balance MR993. His feet are very large and very wide (15EEEE) and these shoes fit him great. They are comfortable and really hold up quite well. We will continue buying these shoes (as there are not many choices in this size). Thanks to New Balance for taking "big feet" seriously.

Bought these to replace an older pair of a previous model. I really like NB because of the great fit. I bought these because they are wide width which is hard to find. I use these shoes for hiking. Mainly training hikes on pavement or improved trails. They would not be of value for heavy trail use, but work fine for walking long distance on sidewalk etc. They fit good and have good support. I bought a larger than normal size to accommodate hiking socks for improved comfort for long distance. For walking or running, you will find these a great shoe.

I recently purchased this shoe, I wear it all the time, the wide is perfect for my foot. Everyone's foot is different, but this one works for me. Great to wear for any physical activity, didn't even feel like they had a breaking in period.

I recently got a pair of the MR993s in black, just before a trip to NY. I walked all over Manhattan for 4 days, and these shoes were very comfortable throughout the trip. They provide good arch and heel support. My feet are somewhat thin, so I usually add insoles for a more snug fit, but I don’t think these shoes really need the extra padding. They’re good with jeans, shorts, khakis, and casual slacks. I’d like for New Balance to make these in dark red. As usual, Zappos got them to me quickly.

Great fit; great arch support. I just had back surgery & was looking for the optimum in orthopedic comfort & feel I found it. Still, I don't know why they have to be this expensive--they are a sneaker.

I LOVE these shoes! Super comfortable! True to size and width! Great looking, too! I get so many compliments on these shoes. Highly recommended!

I bought these for my husband, who hates to shop, and who wears his clothes until they turn to rags. He has narrow feet, so it's impossible for him to find shoes in stores. These were a replacement for his last pair of New Balance (which I also purchased at Zappos). The shoes arrived a day before I expected them -- unbelievably great service! And my husband was thrilled with his surprise. He's even been jogging. The shoes are true to size and have quite a few improvements over last year's model. I'm sure I'll be back next year for another pair!

My husband and I both purchased the New Balance MR993 style, and are completely pleased with the product. I had both knee and foot surgery so I was looking for a very roomy and sturdy sneaker to start walking again. Plus they are nice looking! My husband does a lot of walking, sometimes 5 miles at a time and he loves his new sneakers!!
