Great boot. Light weight, good padding, arch is medium, but I use replacement insoles with high arch. No need to break them in at all. The leather is a little thin, but soft.

In short order I really like these boots. Super comfortable, warm, and plenty waterproof. I got the wide size and recommend you do the same unless you have really narrow feet. I like the performance of TimberDry. My favorite boots by far are the Timberland Valor but sadly it doesn't come in brown so I got these. I'd say they're almost as good. One downside, these are definitely slick on wet metal or smooth surfaces. My foot tends to kick out behind me when I walk in the city over manhole covers and alike when it's raining. It's not too bad but it'll make you think twice about how to step on those surfaces.

I have owned 4 pairs of these boots. They are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. I am on my feet most of the day down on the ranch and never have foot issues at the end of the day. Rain or shine they keep you feet dry. The only negative I have is that, after a time, the sole pops loose from the rest of the boot around the toe area and moving back toward the heel. The uppers are still good and boot continues to be water proof but unwearable due to the loose sole. All one can do is throw them away and buy a new pair.

Good Boot but due to lack of leather they are tough to shine. The leather scuffs easily.

These are great boots. I wanted something that was durable, comfortable and would keep my feet warm in the winter but would also breath in the summer and these hit the nail right in the head. I only wear these boots when I go on hiking trips, work in the yard or on cold winter days so I don't wear them all the time but they've been solid for years and still have life in them. They keep your feet dry (unless you completely submerge your foot) and have great flexibility. I highly recommend them!

I purchased these Boots to Ride My HD MotorCycle in Spring and Summer. I shall be able to check Stability - Traction and Pronation when I begin to ride. That's the reason I gave it 4 Stars.

Im a size 10 D. This is the first time Ive had to return a Timberland shoe/boot for being a full half-size smaller. Good looks and build is unmistakeable and pure Timberland; can't comment on other aspects as it was returned. Recommend ordering a half size larger.

Long time Plantar Fasciitis sufferer. Also work on my feet all day, which does not help. As per doctor's recommendation, wore arch support inserts for years, which helped a lot, but didn't quite solve the problem, so I continued to look for shoes that had good arch support. Never found any with arch support as good as the Dr. Scholl's Tri-Comfort Orthotics I was wearing, until one day, shopping for hiking boots, I came across these. My search was over!. The arch support and ankle support in these boots is so good, that my Plantar Fasciitis pretty much disappeared. However, if I wear any other shoes, and walk a lot, the pain comes back. I'm pretty much dependent on these boots for my feet's health. I tried other Timberland boots and shoes, and none have the arch support that these have. I wear these boots to work, all day, every day, and my other shoes only for short walks. Whenever I have to walk a lot, I wear these boots, or else, I hurt. I heard that Timberland may discontinue these boots, they are no longer available in stores, that would pretty much be a tragedy for me. I hope they don't discontinue them, or that they make another model with the same arch support as these. So far they haven't, I've tried everything I found in Timberland stores, and nothing compares. If Timberland does discontinue these boots, I'll be forced to look into different brands. This is now my 4th pair, since 2010. And, yes, they are durable!. I've hiked a lot with these boots, and wore them every day to work, and they still lasted me a couple of years. ONE FLAW: They claim that the Gore-Tex membrane on the sides of the boot is waterproof, it is not. Place this membrane under running water, hold a paper towel on the opposite side (inside the boot) and see the paper get wet. I found out the hard way, by walking in heavy rain with these boots. My feet were pools of water when I got home. After the boots dried, I did that test, twice - They let water through!

Nice looking boot which can blend with "rougher casual." I was unable to keep the shoe because the width did not work well once my Rx orthopedics were inserted. With the included removable insole, they felt great.

One question: what should I use to keep the leather portions of these shoes clean and to clean out skuff marks? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! TIA

Since I was familiar with this product from a previous in-store purchase, this was a no brainer, as long as the product had not changed. I couldn't be happier.

I have owned this exact pair of hiking boots since 2006 and have used them for casual daily wear, hunting/fishing/camping, hiking and many other outdoor activities. These boots have been comfortable and durable for how much I wore them. They finally broke down to a point where I needed a new pair. After 8 years of mid/heavy use I found this to be very acceptable and wanted to get the exact pair again, so I did. No regrets, fit just as comfortable as the last pair of the exact same size.

I really like them I just hope they last a while. They weren't cheap & I just switched brands after being let down again by the short lifespan of my old brand of hikers.

I bought these for my son. He specifically asked for these boots for Christmas. I bought a half size large since it didn't come in half sizes, he wears a 12 1/2. He said they fit fine and had room for heavy socks. I thought they looked very nice, with a classic rugged look. I was slightly disappointed that they weren't all leather like the boots I used to wear to go hunting.

I had ordered these boots as a replacement for my previous Timberland boots that were quite worn and had been used to trek in Nepal. I ordered the same size as my old ones, and the new boots did not fit as well. They were too snug in the width. Also there was very little arch support. I put in an extra padding and it felt better. I would recommend ordering up a size or a larger width to accommodate hiking socks & feet swelling during active hiking.
I'd also recommend:

I recently moved to the Pacific NW and have been in need of a hiking shoe/boot to accommodate the terrain. Due to recent sales at a couple local retailers, it came between this boot at 30% off or the Adidas Terrex GTX at 50% off, both coming to about the same price. I was reluctant to have a more boot-style shoe with the higher heel/ankle, and generally prefer the lower shoe-style, but thought that upper support would be needed. Both boots are very lightweight and have the Gore-Tex lining, and are very comfortable and feel great all around. The Terrex has a cool quick-lace system that is sort of a drawstring that I liked, but the laces are quite thin and didn't seem durable enough for that one element of efficiency to be much of a benefit. Ultimately I chose this Timberland because it just feels more durable. The Terrex does have the Continental rubber sole, but I read reviews of it wearing in 6 months or less. The leather in this boot seems more durable and attractive for uses other than hiking. Adidas just has that athletic shoe look that isn't my style. The Merrells I tried on were not comfortable and were bulky and ugly. I quite liked a pair of Montrails I tried on that were cheaper than these, but without the upper ankle support. I hope I made the right choice because I consider a shoe at this price to be an investment and hope to not replace these for years. My ratings are based on limited use so far.
I'd also recommend:
Montrail, Addidas Terrex

These boots are really comfortable. They did not require any break-in time. They seem to be waterproof as advertised, but I haven't given them a real test yet. They also have a wonderful tread. They grab crusty snow well. I feel very secure. The only problem that I have with them is that Timberland put a really short tongue on them. The tongue barely comes up to the top lace hooks. My solution for that was to use 45 inch waxed laces and then lace them only as far as the second lace hook. The new laces are better than the cruddy ones that Timberland provides and the laces won't slip down either. Despite my complaints, I really like the boots.

The color is definitely darker than in the pictures. Not pink but more of a maroon. Kind of disappointed in how dark they are compared to picture online.

VERY comfortable boot for walking and casual hiking. I think of it as a hybrid work/hiking boot. Not exceptional at either task but will get the job done doing both. Really my only big complaint is that it has an unusually low tread life. I suspect the softer rubber is what helps to make it more comfortable than most boots I have tried in is price range. But the trade off unfortunately is that I can probably only get 2 years max of tread wear out of it. Which a little more than half of what I get out of my previous boots. That being said, I still don't regret buying them. But I will be keeping my eye out for alternatives.
